Given the wake of dissent and confusion thanks to our rogue buddy Kreich, I'd say the time is right for another MM meeting/class/hugging session. This time we'll be having a recap of some history regarding the Children and a summary of the event with the Y'shai (and maybe some of their history), and I encourage people to show up and voice their opinions about whichever course of action their character feels is correct. I'm going to try and keep the history lesson short since a lot of us have heard it all before, but a refresher never hurts, especially since things are being picked up again.
The dates I'm looking at right now are Friday the 11th, Saturday the 12th or Sunday the 13th. My preference is for Friday since I'm usually out doing something on Saturday and I have D&D on Sunday evenings, but I can work around those if a lot of people would prefer one of those days. If you have a preference or can only make one day, please post now so I (and others) can start shuffling our schedules around.

I really like the idea of Throne, but coordination was a pain, especially since right now we've got long gaps of time where there are no moons to gate people in with.
If I can get people to commit to it, particularly one person from each sect so we can use the cool meeting hall mechanics, then maybe we can try it again.

Nomads, probably. They've probably got the lowest population of any sect, and I think that was the only sect we were missing at the first meeting.
I'm not sure the meeting hall would be right for this particular meeting but I would like to use it again some time.

Alright, I've consulted with as many people as I can and I've settled on using the Observatory in Crossing again. Sorry to those of you that wanted the Forum (I did too), but the dual problems of getting enough people to commit to coming so we can actually use the mechanics and how difficult and annoying it can be for some people to get to Throne make the Observatory the best choice.
The final date and time for the meeting will be Friday, April 11th at 8 EST. We'll be meeting one west of Kssarh's office, may God have mercy on us all. The meeting will start with a quick (5ish minute) rundown of the history of the Children and the Cabal and a summary of Kreich's visit to Shard. I'm hoping lots of people will show up to observe and participate in a debate on the ethics of a second Scouring. :D
The usual rules apply: the purpose of this meeting is to encourage and facilitate roleplay, so while you are there please do your best to remain In Character. That means no talking about "gods" or "pidgeons" as thinly veiled allusions to GMs and instant messaging programs. While the main focus of the meeting will be (hopefully) spirited debate, please try to be (semi)respectful and don't start fistfights with people while you're there. Leave the beatings to Kssarh.
Hope to see lots of you there.

I would lol, but Cael will be baking a very large batch of frownies for whoever interrupts the meeting with shenanigans.
Oh and I have Galren's word he'll show up to enforce TEH LAW for me. You'll get one warning to cut it out first, but he doesn't miss twice, campers!

lol ... A barbie to enforce order at a lunar mages' pow wow? That right there is enough to make me not want to participate. Then again Cael normally does bring all sorts of enforcers to OUR meetings.

Galren's personal reasons for wanting to be there will become very clear when the announcements for the meeting go out. This will be the second meeting I'll have actually had any kind of bouncer at, and honestly I don't even think he'll be necessary - only one person has ever actively tried to disrupt a meeting and he was very quickly dealt with.
Plus, as always, the meeting is open to anyone that wants to come - I'm just inviting Moon Mages specifically, and it's our guild the meeting is focused on. I've never barred characters from other guilds from coming and I'm not about to start. If you disagree with this policy, by all means prepare your own lectures and meetings. We could definitely use more people trying to get information out there in general.

Sorry for the late post, been busy lately with RL stuff.
The meeting went fairly well I thought, despite a few snags and some people showing up expecting something entirely different. The purpose was to get people there and talking about things and plenty of people showed up to do so. People young and old brought some great arguments so kudos to them, and no one even had to get their face smashed.
Sherella popped in near the end and displayed the valuable diplomatic skill of waffling for us. She agreed with the notion that Taramaine wouldn't send a Y'shai like that and that if it was indeed rogue it was a threat to the guild that would be dealt with one way or another.
This will probably be my last meeting for a long while if not indefinitely. We had a good run and I figure seven is an auspicious number to stop with. My thanks go to everyone that have made these meetings possible, from contributing information to logging the things for me to just showing up and trying to be positive for a change.
Now without further jib-jabbering, here's the (VERY LONG) edited log, courtesy of Kougen. Most actions have been cut out unless they're directly relevant, leaving just the conversation for the most part. Enjoy.
[Observatory, Third Level]
A twisted framework of oak timbers and brass machinery nearly fills the room. At its center, the tremendous tube of a weer crystal telescope slants upward at a slight angle toward the dome's center, splitting the air like a precarious steel pillar gone askew. A thick glass lens extends a small space beneath the scope's circular base. You also see a soft white fringed cloth with some stuff on it, a disagreeable Shadow Servant, a grumpy Shadow Servant, a large wooden sign and a small bubbling cauldron of viscous gloop.
Also here: Mystic Kreanth, Enchantress Ajaccia, Shaman Glizten, Dissident Visicue, Aes-Danai Terra, Magus Malzard, Marsais, Nomad Dricila, Antiquary Treiz who is sitting, Mercenary Galren, Navigator Rekletiva, Occultist Aseron, Fate's Sword Ravenwolf, Coralin, Traveler Eltrinel, Ascendant Lerrasha, Druid Celitha, Student Lacero, Apprentice Moon Mage Deiket, Professor Yavus, Gallank who is sitting, Fateweaver Caelumia
Obvious exits: east, south.
Caelumia says, "Alright. Everyone settle down for just a moment. The purpose of this meeting is less a lecture this time, and more to discuss what the proper course of action should be given recent events."
Caelumia says, "I'll run through a brief history for those whose knowledge is lacking. The rest of you can twiddle your thumbs and stare politely at a wall or something."
Relica just arrived.
Caelumia says, "Several centuries ago, during the days of the Empire before our guild was formed, a group existed called the Saesordian Cabal. This was the same Cabal once lead by Tezirah herself before her untimely banishment, and then lead by a man named Heronyus Kalestraum."
Jynisis just arrived.
Caelumia says, "This group was dedicated to the darker side of lunar magic; shadows, illusions, and even sorcery. A schism occurred within this group due to this, and the sect we know now as the Progeny of Tezirah was born, devoted to discussion of theory but not practice of such arts."
Councillor Jappal just arrived.
Ghodbane just arrived.
Caelumia says, "But the Cabal continued, and as the then-new Celestial Compact struggled to be recognized as a legitimate guild, the Cabal's practices regarding lunar magic reflected...poorly."
Caelumia says, "It was decided that this threat to the fledgling group, the cabal of sorcerers and practitioners of unethical magic, should be Scoured."
Saet just arrived.
Stritan just arrived.
Caelumia says, "That is what they called it - the Scouring, lead by a person only known now as the Eye."
Caelumia says, "There was a great battle. Most of the people associated with the Cabal were killed, including Heronyus himself. They thought the problem was solved. Of course, we know now that wasn't so."
Caelumia says, "The Children of Kalestraum survive to this day and they remember what the founders of the guild did to them. They've done a great many terrible things and struck at us in many ways."
Caelumia says, "And that leads us to now."
Caelumia says, "The Y'shai Kreich has approached Guildleader Mortom and demanded his aid in what will more or less be the second Scouring."
Caelumia says, "And it's rather certain he'll approach each of the guildleaders in the same way."
Caelumia says, "Kreich does not act on actual orders from Throne City, or our Guildmaster Taramaine. He acts on what he calls unspoken wishes."
Eltrinel asks, "What was Guildleader Mortom's response to Kreich?"
Caelumia says, "He commanded Kreich to return to Throne City and said that anyone that called themselves a student of his would not take part."
Gallank loudly asks, "Why?"
Caelumia says, "Kreich does not act on orders. What he plans on doing is...dangerous in many ways."
Caelumia says, "The Y'shai for those unaware are creations. Former Moon Mages that undergo a process that costs them their very souls in return for power."
Quetocuin just arrived.
Caelumia says, "Most have their minds cauterized and bound to serve the will of the guild, but rogues have happened and are exceedingly dangerous."
Jappal says, "thats a very unnerving thought....rogues.....having...rogue thoughts"
Caelumia says, "So. We have a choice. Kreich will doubtlessly approach each guildleader, and seems willing to accept help from any who would offer it."
Caelumia says, "It's up to each student to decide whether they will condone mass murder in the name of the guild."
Terra asks, "Have there been any rumors or confirmations of Kreich contacting any of the other guildleaders?"
Caelumia says, "I've heard nothing as of yet. I think we would hear Master Kssarh yelling at the least if he came here."
Relica says, "I sense a long fall and a loud thump."
Coralin says, "Wouldn't surprise me if only contacted Mortom due to his Tezirite connections and their distaste for the Children."
Caelumia says, "The Y'shai are not to be trifled with."
Eltrinel asks, "Has Kreich... suggested..... he would become aggressive to Moon Mages that do not assist him?"
Caelumia says, "They sacrifice their souls for their abilities. Their cambrinth armor is fused permanently to their flesh. They have no need for food or sleep, and the armor increases their power by an incredible amount."
Caelumia says, "I do not think he would be kind to those that get in his way."
Marsais asks, "Has it been confirmed that the Y'shai is indeed a rogue acting alone?"
Caelumia says, "He admitted he acted on no orders - of course, this may be a lie. Mortom seemed of the opinion that he was indeed a rogue."
Caelumia says, "I do not believe Taramaine would be foolish enough to order a lone Y'shai to strike the Children."
Caelumia says, "This helps them more than it helps us."
Malzard says, "Yet the Grandmaster has tasked us to defend the Guild against those who would corrupt us."
Malzard says, "Teleologic Sorcery is the most corrupting influency to seep into our midst in some time."
Malzard says, "And they have brought it to us."
Jappal asks, "Have the Children..done anything in recent times..to warrent aggressive action?"
Terra says, "So, what of the mages who have learned such magics? Would they forsake that knowledge and stand with the guild, or stand with the Children."
Coralin says, "They've been fairly well behaved as of late."
Relica asks, "Where are these so called children located?"
Malzard says to Terra, "They have already made that choice."
Caelumia says, "I will point out."
Caelumia says, "The Children are aware that the Y'shai moves."
Glizten asks, "Yes, where are the Children located?"
Caelumia says, "And fortunately, at this point in time, they do not attribute it to the guild."
Coralin says to Relica, "The Children are located in a manor somewhere on the outskirts of Leth Deriel. Kalestraum's ancestral manor."
Terra says, "I believe near Leth Deriel, in a manor of sorts."
You say, "It depends what you consider recent, but they've taken several aggressive actions against this guild and the students."
Glizten says, "I think I know of the place"
Caelumia says to Glizten, "You likely do not. It's hidden by more powerful magic than anyone has thus far managed to penetrate."
Malzard says, "No, you think of Lasarhhtha's Manor."
Caelumia says, "This isn't the same manor as..yes."
Terra says, "Foul Bone Dancer.."
Glizten says, "Ah, ok"
Marsais asks, "Wasn't the Y'shai created using Sorcery? Or was that just rumor?"
Glizten says, "There is a morgue in the basement useful to moon mages as well as a book in the library"
Caelumia says, "A book called Arte of the Black Cockatrice."
Caelumia says, "Currently in possession of the Tezirites, if memory serves."
Coralin says, "The Crowthers have it."
Eltrinel asks, "Crowthers?"
Coralin says, "Erzebet Crowther, once Tezirite representative on the Moon Mage council."
Dricila just arrived.
Caelumia says to Eltrinel, "The family that leads the Progeny. Always women."
Eltrinel says, "Ahh.. thank you."
Coralin says, "Her daughter is Annisean, they reside in Shard."
Gallank loudly asks, "Do we know what the other Y'Shai plan to do?"
Rekletiva says, "They do not plan. They obey."
Eltrinel asks, "Whatever the guild tells them?"
Galren asks, "So if these Y'Shai are supposedly soul dead... how has this one come about his current course of action? From what I've read the Y'Shai don't sound like the type to start giving their own orders. What has sparked this is Kreich?"
Caelumia says, "If Mortom is correct he has gone rogue and the guild has lost control of him."
Galren says, "Sounds like someone has been playing puppet master."
Coralin says, "He's been rogue for a while. He's the one that killed Tethia."
Caelumia says, "And he is acting on some delusion of his."
Jappal says, "He did say...unspoken wishes'"
Jappal says, "plural"
Jappal says, "can't be too many voices rattling around inside of the Y'shai head"
Caelumia says, "They are not idiots."
Jappal says, "didn't say they were"
Gallank loudly says, "Or, 'e sees somethin more important ta fate o' da guild den mindless obeyin."
Caelumia says, "To underestimate the cunning and intelligence of a Y'shai is foolish. In Kreich's mind, I'm certain he feels fully justified in what he is doing."
Caelumia says, "But he fails to grasp the potential consequences."
Rekletiva says, "Or he does not believe they will come to pass."
Eltrinel says, "Or does not care."
Malzard says, "Or we fail to grasp the alternatives..."
Malzard says, "They know things we do not."
Jappal asks, "Could this be the Y'shai's way of possibly, feeling, we are not properly lead...and therefore..blind to make choices, wisely?"
Jappal says, "Lack of council and all"
Rekletiva says to Eltrinel, "I think that, if he remains a servant of the Guild, he cares."
Eltrinel says to Rekletiva, "True but he is not a servant of the guild, apparently, if he is not obeying orders given him"
Galren says, "Nothin' like the smell of potential sectarian violence to get ones blood moving."
Terra says, "It would look to me almost more that he observes and has drawn his own conclusion based on what he thinks is best for the guild. A sort of blind conviction."
Caelumia says to Galren, "I have spoken with our beloved patriarch about the proper course of action already. I hope you will agree."
Gallank loudly says, "So da Y'Shai can only do what dey're ordered? Stories never told me dey were like da gnome machines."
Galren says, "I follow the will of the Family."
Caelumia says to Gallank, "More or less, yes."
Malzard says to Gallank, "Unwaivering loyalty to the Guild, apparently it can, at times, surprise us."
Caelumia says, "I was not kidding when I said their minds are cauterized and their will is subjugated."
Caelumia says, "'Cauterized' is Taramaine's word for it, not mine."
Jappal says, "thats un"
Kreanth asks, "so will he just approach Guild masters or also seek out guild members too?"
Jappal says, "nerving"
Gallank loudly says, "So either 'e's gone rogue, or dey 'ave more free will den ya believe."
Gallank loudly says, "Or both, I spose."
Aseron quietly says, "You are too loud, Gor'Tog."
Sharilir just arrived.
Relica says, "I highly doubt they have more free will if they are not rogue."
Yavus says, "Adn what are the chances he is following Name1234567891011TOTAL - "
Gallank loudly asks Relica, "Based on?"
Yavus says, "Oops"
Yavus says, "Taramains' orders"
Caelumia says, "Very low, I think."
Relica says, "You need to read up on your history a bit."
Caelumia says, "Taramaine has not spoken, but he is not a fool, and realizes how this would divide the guild."
Caelumia says, "And I trust Mortom's judgment."
Caelumia says, "You are free to choose your course."
Gallank loudly says, "I've read everythin I could find on da Y'Shai, in fact, I 'ope ta join 'em someday. Nothin I ever read said dey were stupid, or unable ta act in da guild's defense."
Rekletiva says, "Ah, the dreams of the young."
Gallank loudly says, "Obviously, dey ain't got a guildmaster sittin be'ind 'em goin "kill dat. Now kill dat. An dat one too." so dey gotta 'ave some free will."
Caelumia says, "There will be no new Y'shai made."
Coralin says, "They do though."
Galren says to Gallank, "Relax there big guy."
Coralin says, "Each Y'Shai is assigned to someone."
Marsais asks Caelumia, "Why is that?"
Coralin says, "But ultimately it is Erzebet and Taramaine that control them like puppets."
Caelumia says, "I believe a halt was called to their production after the first one died, and they realized the soul is irreparably damaged in the process."
Gallank loudly says, "Oh? I thought some o' dem wandered 'round Throne City."
Relica says, "And because of the magic needed to make one."
Coralin says, "They are stationed there, they do not roam."
Eltrinel says to Gallank, "They do on orders."
Glizten asks, "So now you need to decide whether to Scourge the Y'Shai or do nothing?"
Jappal says, "accept to Shard for weekend getaways apparently"
Malzard says to Glizten, "Not exactly."
Malzard asks Caelumia, "Although that might be your preference, no?"
Galren says, "Could always get comfy on the fence if yer worried."
Glizten says to Malzard, "Just trying to follow here"
Coralin says, "Removing the Y'Shai is simply not an option, nor something I think anyone wants to attempt. They are unfortunately a very valuable asset to the guild."
Malzard says to Glizten, "The Scouring would eliminate the Children of Kalestraum."
Caelumia says, "Some years ago, Karosti offered his own choice to students - to choose not to get involved and remain alive, or assault them and die in the process."
Malzard says to Glizten, "And the rogue Y'Shai plans to lead it. The question is whether his course is right."
Caelumia says, "At the very least, there is no indication that students who choose to remain uninvolved will be killed."
Rekletiva says to Malzard, "Or feasible."
Malzard says to Rekletiva, "They die easily enough..."
Rekletiva says, "So do we."
Galren says, "I hear these things are near immortal..."
Jappal asks, "Let me ask this question....if we had a Council...would this be as big an issue as it may be now?"
Caelumia says, "Yes. But a dead Y'shai stays dead."
Caelumia says, "Their soul does not walk."
Malzard says, "I'm not talking about the Y'Shai"
Coralin says, "The only Y'Shai I've seen killed has been by Tezirah herself."
Caelumia says, "It is...simply lost."
Glizten says, "Even immortals things die"
Gallank loudly says, "A great sacrafice dey made."
Rekletiva says to Glizten, "That's an interesting claim for a cleric to make."
Caelumia says, "Malzard is right."
Caelumia asks, "Do you believe Kreich is correct?"
Quetocuin asks, "who could possibly stop a Y'shai? could even the Guildmaster Prime do such a thing?"
Gallank loudly asks, "I kin 'ardly 'ide da fact dat I'm young, but I dislike 'im bgein labeled 'rogue' jus cause ya disagree wit what 'e's doin. 'as someone 'o rank named 'em rogue?"
Rekletiva says, "You're not rogue. You're loud."
Aseron quietly says to Gallank, "Lower your voice in respect for those wiser."
Caelumia says to Gallank, "I've said a few times that Mortom believes he is rogue, and that he admitted he was not acting on orders."
Dricila asks, "Jappal has mentioned twice if any feel the lack of Council situation would effect this outcome, any thoughts on that?"
Caelumia says, "You are welcome to your beliefs, of course."
Caelumia says, "I believe if we had a Council that we would be in a much better state in general."
Caelumia says, "I think this strike comes at a very poor time in general, if such a thing would ever be the correct course of action. It will only weaken us."
Malzard says, "Yet we were tasked by the Prime. To defend against this corruption. And we -know- the source."
Malzard says, "If we stop them now perhaps it can end with Sever Thread."
Glizten says to Rekletiva, "Remember when clerics were able to raise the dead through Hodierna? It almost killed her "
Caelumia says to Malzard, "People remember."
Malzard says to Caelumia, "I hope they do."
Caelumia says, "That was the flaw in the Compact's logic."
Caelumia says, "People remember."
Malzard asks Caelumia, "Or was the flaw leaving any alive?"
Coralin asks, "So even though Taramaine hasn't ordered it, and Mortom is against it, you think all those on the side of the guidl should side with Kreich?"
Galren asks, "Old wounds never really fade away do they?"
Quetocuin says to Malzard, "now you're thinking like a barbarian"
Malzard says to Caelumia, "They blew you up for Gods sake. They want us all dead."
Caelumia says, "I refuse to believe that we as an organization haven't moved past acts as base and animalistic as mass murder."
Malzard says to Caelumia, "There is no reason to believe the aim is anything different."
Rekletiva says to Quetocuin, "Cleric. Not Barbarian."
Caelumia says to Malzard, "They haven't wanted us all dead."
Gallank loudly says to Aseron, "I am Gor'Tog, I 'ave ta put up wit yer tiny buildins, itty bitty streets, an everythin made three sizes less den it should. I am not gonna whisper."
Caelumia says, "Everelles, perhaps Xailes... but that wasn't their aim."
Aseron quietly says, "Then you will not speak."
With amazing speed, Aseron strikes Gallank in the throat with the edge of his flattened palm. Gallank clutches his throat, wheezing pathetically.
The shock causes Gallank to drop his cambrinth figurine!
Caelumia says, "You don't remember what he said, do you? They never wanted -us-."
Coralin says, "Everelles was just insane."
Quetocuin says to Rekletiva, "I was thinking the idea of leave none alive was barbaric"
Kreanth exclaims, "Its getting hostile!"
Terra says to Caelumia, "What did they want? "
Malzard says to Caelumia, "No, not us. Just everything that makes us -us-."
Malzard says to Caelumia, "Yes, he would have you live on as either an empty shell, or a mindless drone. The Guild, or Kalestraum, pick your poison."
Caelumia says to Malzard, "I disagree with that."
Caelumia says, "I think what made us -us- died a long time ago."
Malzard matter-of-factly asks Caelumia, "Or have you already?"
Quetocuin asks, "and what was that?"
Caelumia says to Malzard, "My choice is the same as it has ever been."
Caelumia says, "Our Council. We are lessened without it."
Kreanth says to Gallank, "and these buildings are huge"
Jappal asks, "How do we move to have a coucil re instated thwn?"
Quetocuin says to Caelumia, "excuse my ignorance but I wasn't part of an us back then so I was confused"
Gallank loudly says to Aseron, "I give respect ta everyone dat 'as greater knowledge den me, but not ta my own shame. An dose dat 'ave not da will ta deal wit it reveal demselves fer da fools dey are."
Terra says to Jappal, "Isn't that part of the Heritage House goal? I could be mistaken."
Gallank loudly says to Kreanth, "Eh, some are, some ain't. It's da principle."
Eltrinel says to Gallank, "Many people have asked you to speak quieter, not whisper. And many have showed you where you err. You continuing on is not respect."
Aseron quietly says to Gallank, "I will not tolerate great speech from a dim mind. Continue to your own insult, but direct not another at me unless seeking penalty, for that will be gained."
Gallank loudly says, "I am speakin in a normal tone o'"
Caelumia says, "If any of you shed blood here at this meeting you will be introduced to Galren's throwing hammer. Face first."
Coralin says, "Mental blast and be done with it instead then."
Caelumia says, "I hope I'm understood."
Kreanth exclaims, "oh, I wanna see that!"
Kreanth says, "not at me"
Gallank loudly says, "It's not my fault dat yer ears are too small fer my lungs."
Galren says to Kreanth, "You really dont."
Malzard says to Jappal, "Ultimately, the Council is out of our control."
Quetocuin says to Galren, "just getting out of your throwing arm"
Kreanth says, "its prolly bigger than me"
Galren says, "Lets just simmer down folks"
Galren says, "Lots to figure out here"
Caelumia says, "Taramaine has not expressed an active interest in rebuilding the Council."
Caelumia says, "And really, he has no reason to."
Marsais says, "We were formed on the foundation of a Council though."
Gallank loudly asks Caelumia, "'ave any o' da other guildleaders or notables expressed an opinion on dis?"
Caelumia quietly says, "Six pillars, not one."
Malzard says, "They were -all- killed at once. Our most gifted...."
Quetocuin asks, "I missed the beginning of the meeting so excuse me if it's been said, but didn't the last council get killed off?"
Malzard says, "It has indeed been too long, but the task is incredible."
Quetocuin asks, "who'd volunteer for that fate?"
Marsais asks, "Who killed them?"
Jappal says, "If the Y'shai..go Rogue....I would think..that would only solidify the issue, a Council, is much needed..."
Jappal asks, "Since at one time every council member had 2 Y'shai gaurdians, that served them....isn't that correct?"
Dricila says, "I'm as equally concerened for our fate and lack of council as I am for who would ultimately be on it"
Quetocuin asks, "what good would a council do against a bunch of rogue Y'shai? they'd just become targets no?"
Coralin says, "The council members were and would be more powerful than the Y'Shai."
Caelumia says, "The Y'shai are powerful, not unkillable."
Jappal says, "Not if somewhere ingrained into them is a instint to serve the Council"
Ravenwolf says, "I think the problem is too much power concentrated in too few hands. "
Coralin says, "that wouldn't be an issue."
Relica says, "I think this is about all I can listen to."
Quetocuin asks, "isn't it too late for the rogue to be 'fixed'?"
Galren says, "Here's a question... has anyone spoken to Kreich in an attempt to persuade him from his current course? Aside from Mortom I mean"
Quetocuin asks, "and why would a council member need two Y'shai to watch over them if they're more powerful than a Y'shai?"
Caelumia says, "Aside from a gaggle of students, no."
Malzard says, "Yet she would hang on the every word of a stranger in shadow for anlaen on end."
Rekletiva says to Quetocuin, "Three are more than one."
Malzard asks Caelumia, "Perhaps we should cloak ourselves next time?"
Coralin says, "Bodyguards have been a status symbol for centuries...and besides everyone needs lackies."
Eltrinel says to Quetocuin, "Many, if not most, rulers have two, or more, guards less powerful then themselves."
Kreanth asks, "ya have two guards more powerful than ya, they would just overthrow ya?"
Galren says, "Depends on where the guards loyalties lie."
Quetocuin says, "just sounds like the council is appointed or elected"
Kreanth says, "power does strange things, even to the loyal"
Quetocuin says, "and the Y'shai are trained and cultivated for a long time"
Caelumia says, "Let us set aside for a moment whether or not Kreich is truly a rogue Y'shai."
Caelumia asks, "Do you believe his course of action to be correct?"
Yavus says, "It seems more logical to me that he is following someone's orders rather than being rogue"
Malzard says, "His aim is correct, at least."
Jappal says, "I cannot make a call on that..until I fully understand all angles"
Quetocuin says, "that's an impossible question, genocide or sorcery"
Quetocuin says, "it's a no win situation"
Caelumia says, "But it is a question you will have to answer."
Caelumia says, "Or you can choose to take no side."
Quetocuin says, "that's as bad as picking a side"
Coralin says, "My guess is Erzebet is still controling Kreich, but who wants to be blasphemous these days and make such an accusation. Not I."
Galren says, "Life is full of these damned if you do, damned if you don't chocies."
Malzard says to Caelumia, "Inaction is a choice, as you have so often had to tell me."
Terra says, "Apathy is quite possibly worse than being on the 'wrong' side."
Quetocuin says, "not choosing is picking both sides"
Eltrinel asks, "Or perhaps as wise as the collection of mages here is.... we can find another alternative to genocide or sorcery?"
Caelumia says, "I would agree that apathy is worse."
Malzard says to Eltrinel, "It would be my hope that we can combat the magic. But the infection is already spreading...if we cannot move quickly...."
Kreanth says, "ok so if we pick a side, so to speak, what then? "
Caelumia says, "But we do have a promise from the Shadebringer, for whatever that is worth, that your life will not be at risk unless you choose to intervene. If your life and your own studies are what matter to you, anyway."
Caelumia says, "If the guild matters to you, then.. we all have a choice to make."
Marsais asks Malzard, "How can they justify wiping out Sorcery when the Y'shai were created using it?"
Rekletiva says, "Justify."
Caelumia says to Malzard, "Yes. Do tell."
Eltrinel asks Malzard, "And how could anyone be sure that genocide would actually stop sorcerous use? I mean it did not work last time?"
Marsais says, "That's a bit hypocritical."
Caelumia says, "These should be some interesting ethical acrobatics."
Malzard says to Marsais, "-We- can justify by considering the Y'Shai an earlier and at least equally terrible mistake."
Kreanth asks, "ok if I pick one side and Malzard picks another, does that put us as enemies of each other?"
Malzard says to Eltrinel, "It was not completed last time."
Coralin says, "This guild is founded on hypocrisy, it's in the Lunar Accord after all."
Quetocuin asks, "maybe we've learned from the guild past mistakes and prefer not to repeat it?"
Malzard asks, "Maybe the mistake was an incomplete effort?"
Malzard says, "And we should indeed learn from it."
You say, "Then you still have to decide which one you consider the bigger mistake."
Rekletiva asks, "Which mistake are we not repeating? Mass murder, or incomplete mass murder?"
Marsais says to Malzard, "Then both sides have made mistakes. It seems to me we can move forward as a guild."
Quetocuin says to Caelumia, "by that I mean the Y'shai creation sorcery was wrong so we should stop any other forms of sorcery from being developed"
Coralin asks, "Why is sorcery wrong though? Shall we go right to the age old question?"
Caelumia says, "I'm personally opposed to more bloodshed."
Caelumia says, "There has been enough."
Malzard exclaims to Marsais, "They are not a part of this Guild. This Guild does not accept and condone the casual and continued study and practice of sorcerous magic. Illegal magic!"
Caelumia says, "We are scholars, not barbarians."
Caelumia says to Galren, "No offense."
Galren says, "None taken."
Marsais asks, "Who outlawed it?"
Quetocuin asks Galren, "so you're not going to use the hammer yet?"
Galren says, "Heh, I could already tell you how something like this would pan out in my guild."
Marsais asks, "The old empire?"
Caelumia says, "It has been outlawed since the days of the Empire."
Rekletiva says, "Sanity."
Coralin says, "The seven-star Empire technically."
Caelumia says to Galren, "Whoever is alive in the end, wins."
Caelumia says, "But that is not our way. It should not be our way."
Quetocuin says to Caelumia, "and don't forget they also write the history books"
Galren says, "Really shouldn't even be our ways..."
Galren says, "But death is about all we know."
Jappal asks, "How strong are The Children now...anyone know?"
Coralin says, "Strong."
Marsais says to Malzard, "I'm not arguing that it is illegal. Simply pointing out that our guild has ties to it. "
Caelumia says, "The Shadebringer is very powerful."
Eltrinel says, "They have a manor nobody can even get to."
Coralin says, "Karosti killed dozens of students in one swoop."
Caelumia says, "The Scions significantly less so."
Malzard says to Marsais, "Ties best severed, perhaps."
Jappal asks, "Strong enuff to give the Y'shai a run forf their money if they were left alone to handle the Them?"
Caelumia says, "Their might lies in their ingenuity, for the most part."
Quetocuin asks, "can we go back to the question of why is sorcery illegal? who decided that and why do we follow that ideal so blindly?"
Marsais says to Malzard, "I'd think Taramaine would be looking into a way to destroy the Y'shai himself then."
Galren says to Quetocuin, "That's a huge can of worms to open up."
Coralin says, "Sorcery is illegal because the governments of Kermoria has deemed it so."
Quetocuin asks, "isn't that the heart of the whole matter?"
Malzard says to Marsais, "The Y'Shai...abominations that they are...may well serve a necessary purpose."
Augur Aesthea just arrived.
Caelumia says to Marsais, "Taramaine is a sorcerer himself. Or was in the past."
Quetocuin asks, "and why can't the governments be convinced that it shouldn't be?"
Jappal says, "I say..let the Y'shai..fight the The Children..on their own...."
Caelumia says, "I doubt he would see fit to destroy the Y'shai."
Marsais asks Malzard, "So Sorcery, if served with purpose makes it right?"
Caelumia says to Quetocuin, "Because it is illegal for good reasons."
Quetocuin asks, "wasn't lunar magic once illegal?"
Caelumia says, "Not quite."
Coralin says to Malzard, "He's got a good point."
Malzard says, "The Grandmaster, and by extension this Guild, can understand the allure and, in extreme cases, the importance of sorcery in our studies."
Caelumia says to Malzard, "Hypocrite."
Malzard says, "They are his words."
Malzard says, "They were his actions."
Caelumia says, "Sorcery is illegal for good reasons."
Quetocuin asks, "so only the powerful can break the laws of the government?"
Malzard says, "They were a mistake. But he is still our Grandmaster."
Caelumia says, "What Taramaine did was not right."
Glizten asks, "The glove buried in the Lost Crossings....wasn't that a result of misused Lunar magic?"
Caelumia says, "That glove is part of the remains of a Y'shai."
Malzard says, "Of course not. But since you love to bring up his folly, I will remind you that he has explained himself."
Malzard says, "Accept it or not."
Caelumia says, "The first Y'shai that ever died."
Caelumia says to Malzard, "I explain myself often. Funny how no one buys it."
Malzard says, "You two have much in common then."
Caelumia says to Malzard, "You are so quick to tell me that my methods are incorrect regardless of my motivation."
Caelumia exclaims to Malzard, "How I wish you would measure your beloved Grandmaster on the same scale!"
Malzard says to Caelumia, "And yet I remain, by your side and your friend."
Quetocuin says, "till the war starts"
Malzard says to Caelumia, "And I can do the same with the man who has built everything we have today."
Coralin says to Caelumia, "You do have to look at who Malzard associates with."
Coralin smiles and puts her arm around Malzard's waist.
Malzard smiles at Coralin.
Malzard asks, "Is that a thorn in my side?"
Coralin says, "That's a sweet pet name for me."
Coralin says, "Back to topic."
Terra says, "Indeed. It seems things have strayed quite a bit."
Malzard says, "I'm sorry, but someone needs to speak with a voice of loyalty."
Caelumia says, "I am loyal to the guild."
Caelumia says, "You have simply never understood what that means."
Marsais says, "Perhaps we would feel more loyalty if there was a Council."
Galren says, "Loyalty should come from within."
Coralin says, "I think it needs to decided on what people are loyal to, the guild or Taramaine."
Coralin says, "There is a difference."
Rekletiva says, "That's an odd thing. Individuals polarize. Councils... bring mediocre loyalty."
Caelumia says to Malzard, "My concern is a future for this guild. Open warfare and wholesale bloodshed will not give us a future."
Malzard asks Marsais, "I agree that Council should be reformed. Are we kittens without them? Needing someone to hold us up by the scruff?"
Jappal says, "If we are loyal to the Guild..then we need to figure out a way...for a council to reinstated"
Caelumia says, "Remember Burn."
Marsais says to Malzard, "Our guild was formed on this concept of a Council and equal say."
Coralin says, "A Guildmaster may come and go, the guild should remain regardless of their follies."
Marsais says to Malzard, "Not on the concept of being ran by a single man."
Rekletiva says, "United, however, under Braun."
Caelumia says, "A Braun has not always lead the guild. Usually, but not always."
Caelumia says, "And that does not make the Brauns infallible."
Malzard says to Marsais, "There has always been a Grandmaster. The Council should indeed be reformed. That is really beyond the scope of what this Y'Shai is doing..."
Caelumia says, "Nonetheless, Taramaine's actions or sins have very little bearing."
Caelumia says, "It's very unlikely he ordered the Y'shai."
Quetocuin asks, "I still don't understand why there's a need for a council. Does every other guild have a council to lead them as well?"
Rekletiva says, "Yes."
Jappal says, "Which means he might be losing his influance over them"
Caelumia says, "Not so much."
Caelumia says to Quetocuin, "You must know our history to understand why it is important."
Quetocuin says, "still learning, so sorry"
Caelumia says, "Jares Braun's speech."
Caelumia says, "If unity is the price of survival then let us unite, for together we shall create triumphs of the magical arts undreamt of."
Caelumia says, "That is why it is important."
Coralin asks, "So is anyone joining the Kreich? Or have we come to some consensus that he is rogue and should be approached with caution?"
Quetocuin says, "but that was then. this is now. couldn't the leadership of the guild grow and change to the point of not needing a council? after so many years"
Eltrinel says, "Anyone preaching genocide should be approached with caution. "
Caelumia says, "Not when this guild represents so many groups."
Yavus says, "I personally don't have enough information to make a decision at this time"
Terra says, "So many diverse groups, at that."
Rekletiva says, "I will not be joining Kreich, any more than I joined Tallis. But for me, that would have gone without saying."
Quetocuin says, "and we have one leader for a while province that leads so many diverse guilds, races and cultures"
Jappal says, "I'll back whatever dicision is made by the Council"
Caelumia says, "There will not be time for indecision later."
Quetocuin says, "whole, not while"
Caelumia says, "And apathy will do nothing but hurt us."
Caelumia says, "No matter what..."
Caelumia says, "There will always be things you do not know."
Caelumia says, "There will be variables you cannot account for."
Caelumia says, "We are imperfect Seers, we see imperfect things."
Caelumia says, "It is left to Fate, and our judgment."
Malzard says to Jappal, "If you cannot make the decision on your own, then you simply have not put in the effort that your leaders have put in for you."
Quetocuin asks, "wouldn't the next step be to speak with the Guildmaster Prime?"
Malzard says, "Hear his words through me."
Caelumia asks, "Can you do what you think is right, whatever your vision of right is... or will you falter because you are afraid of being wrong?"
You say, "More specifically, a Council is integral to the founding principle that this Guild is very much the sum of its parts, and the individual sects alone rely on each other to share research and magic."
Jappal says, "Or, I just have certain convictions i'm not willing to throw out, just because others feel they may not play apart"
You say, "But in the absence of those figureheads nothing prevents you from following that same course."
Caelumia says to you, "This guild is greater than the sum of its parts."
Malzard says, "I suppose I can respect waiting for the Council to tell you what to do. It should be reformed."
Marsais says, "I do not think people are saying they need a Council so they know what to do."
Quetocuin says, "I need more input from the guild leaders and the Guildmaster Prime before I could possibly choose a side"
Marsais says, "I believe it is more of a matter of progressing as a guild."
Marsais says, "Not sliding backwards."
Rekletiva says, "There has always been something contemptible about a soldier."
Caelumia says, "Mortom has already spoken."
Malzard asks, "What would you consider progress?"
Caelumia says, "I can only hope the other guildleaders are as wise."
Jappal says, "This is a Guild matter....it effects us all.....what if Guildleaders split over this?....."
Rekletiva asks, "Shall you then choose the fence, Jappal?"
Marsais says to Malzard, "Not resorting to more bloodshed. We see what the first Scourging did."
Quetocuin says, "a split? then we'd be in the same situation if we had a council and they split"
Marsais says to Malzard, "It left alot of corpses and hatred."
Jappal says, "Nope....I serve my Guild in its purpose.....I will fight to keep it alive....."
Rekletiva asks, "And if Taramaine appears to be its killer?"
Malzard says to Marsais, "Perhaps. A way to fight the magic would be preferable...but...even then...."
Jappal says, "Not....kill because someone has an issue with someone else"
Malzard says, "...it infects us."
Dricila says, "We sit here and discuss history and future but have no make towards either, things will unfold and each student will choose that is our fate thus far"
Caelumia says, "The fallacy of the Seer..."
Caelumia says, "...Fate is meaningless without the living moment, the future is judged by the past."
Caelumia says, "Those who choose to do nothing... I wish you luck with that."
Marsais quietly says, "And the past is often as hard to unravel as the future."
Caelumia says, "The rest of you, well."
Caelumia says, "I hope you side with the guild."
Caelumia says, "I cannot make you."
Tsun asks, "But you'll have fun killing them when they join the other team?"
Coralin says, "Side with the guild versus what? That's a very ambigious statement."
Caelumia says, "And intentionally so."
Galren asks, "Versus the radcial Y'Shai selling wholesale genocide?"
Quetocuin asks, "what if the guildmaster Prime says he sent the Y'shai. is that now the side of the guild?"
Rekletiva says, "Ah. Someone's noticed there's a third side."
Caelumia says, "Taramaine is not the guild."
Malzard says to Coralin, "Ever the loyalist....let her leave it at that."
Caelumia says, "The guild is more than any one man."
Caelumia says, "Or even any group of people."
Quetocuin asks, "then who said the side of the guild is not having genocide?"
Caelumia says, "The guild is better than that."
Malzard says, "The Guild will be destroyed if it wholly embraces a band of sorcereres....let alone if it -becomes- one."
Caelumia says, "Even Taramaine should be better than that."
Jappal says, "THen..it may split"
Quetocuin exclaims, "roshambo for it!"
Coralin says, "The guild is already led by a Sorcerer, who cares if we switch from one to another."
Quetocuin says, "you both make great points"
Malzard says to Coralin, "A folly. A man with a life you can barely comprehend..."
Quetocuin says, "and both make it sound like it's the side of the guild"
Malzard says, "Your whims are offensive."
Caelumia asks Malzard, "Did he not try to say we are better than children that must be lead by the hand?"
Caelumia asks, "Did the Shadebringer not say the same thing?"
Coralin says to Malzard, "Neither of us can comprehend it. It's moot and you know it."
Caelumia says, "'We know better than you' and 'You just don't understand' are arguments you hand down to children."
Rekletiva says to Quetocuin, "Then decide for yourself. For your own reasons."
You say, "I think there's a fair bit of difference between a man who has learned the follow of sorcery and a man who actively pursues its research in order to further his own power."
Malzard says to Caelumia, "The fact that she has little appreciation of the life and work of our Prime is not an argument for children, it is truth."
You say, "To say they are interchangable is ridiculous."
Caelumia says, "To presume that Taramaine does not pursue things in his own time is just as ridiculous."
You say, "Learned the folly, even."
Quetocuin says to you, "one seeks power, one attempts to retain power"
Caelumia says, "Whether you believe it is right or wrong."
Coralin says, "Taramaine is man that persues power just as equally."
Quetocuin asks, "how are they not the same?"
Coralin says, "Hence him not reenstating the council."
Coralin says, "He loves being the sole leader of this guild."
You ask Coralin, "When did he tell you that?"
Rekletiva says, "Karosti won't reinstate the Council, either."
Caelumia says, "Rekletiva is correct. There are more than two sides here."
Malzard says, "There are ten sides here..."
Quetocuin asks, "so who do we get to overthrow both and reinstate the council?"
Coralin says, "It's obvious in his actions and easily taken from his statements of false importance."
Malzard exclaims, "Overthrow!"
Caelumia says, "It is presumptuous and dangerous to say we should 'overthrow' anything."
Rekletiva says, "I nominate Malzard."
Dricila says, "Many of us may feel for council but we ultimately do not have the choice in that at this time, this however does not say there will not come a time"
Jappal asks, "What about the guildleaders?....and us..the Students...if we are truely greater then the sum of our parts...and the greater is to have a Council...thne whats keeping it from happening?"
Coralin says, "The council itself was a joke anyway. Six celestians all led by Taramaine as the seventh, more than a majority to do what Taramaine liked."
Malzard says to Jappal, "By all means, form a Student Council and attempt to run the Guild."
Coralin says, "A new council will help nothing."
Caelumia says, "Students have been council members before."
Jappal says, "THen it was a joke during a diffeent time...this is now..."
Coralin says, "A student has held one seat on the council in a desperate act."
Jappal says, "And if ever a situation calls for a Council..it would be now"
Caelumia says, "Indeed."
Terra asks, "No one here is likely to be able to reinstate a council. So it seems the question would be more what to do about the Rogue Y'Shai, no?"
Jappal says, "Not if the only answer...is a Council"
Terra says to Jappal, "Which fortunately, is not the case."
Malzard says to Terra, "Destroy him...after he finish his task."
Jappal asks, "how do we know?"
Celitha softly asks, "if they reform a concil should it not contain someone from each Sect?"
Rekletiva says, "We cannot really... do anything... to him."
You ask, "And what would a council do differently? Tell you to sit and wait for the sorcerous splinter group to come destroy the current guild on their own terms after they've fully prepared?"
Celitha says, "Council"
Caelumia says, "The council did have representatives from multiple sects."
Malzard exclaims to you, "Or have their terms change, and we are sitting idly by while their new mechanations are in full effect?!"
Coralin says, "We already have representation of most sects. The guildleaders themselves should comprise our new leadership and leave it at that."
Terra says, "The question is, what action to take! Not what actions would we take were there a council. Indecision is the graveyard of good intentions."
Rekletiva asks, "Would that roster of guildleaders include Taramaine?"
Quetocuin asks, "and they'll have a deadlock just as we have here? how would that benefit anything?"
Coralin says to Rekletiva, "If we want a trecherous liar, sure."
Rekletiva says, "I don't think liars are a sect."
Coralin asks, "Isn't that Heritage House?"
Caelumia says to you, "I would posit that the lack of a council puts our guild in a weaker state, which exhasterbates the situation."
Jappal says, "Then we stick our hands in the river...swirl the mud around...and wait for the silt to settle....."
With amazing speed, Malzard strikes Coralin in the throat with the edge of his flattened palm. Coralin clutches her throat, wheezing pathetically.
Caelumia says, "I don't think it's directly relevant, but then I didn't bring it up."
Caelumia says, "Please don't hit people."
Galren cracks his knuckles.
Malzard says to Caelumia, "Heritage House a sect of liars? I'd do it again..."
Quetocuin asks, "we could let both sides fight it out till one is gone, then take out the other side while they're weakened and instate a council?"
Caelumia says to Malzard, "No. You won't."
Quetocuin says, "a terrible way to go but a way"
Rekletiva says to Quetocuin, "You say 'take out the other side' like it's easy."
Jappal says, "I say...let The Y'shai, and the children..have it out...and we sell tickets to the fight"
Jappal says, "We'll get rich"
Rekletiva says, "Not to mention who 'we' are."
Caelumia says to Jappal, "You are vulgar and foolish."
Marsais says, "But the Y'shai do not always just kill the Children."
Quetocuin says to Rekletiva, "once they've each beaten each other to death, there wouldn't be much left tl clean up I'd gather"
Marsais says, "During the first Scouging... I heard there were many innocents killed by both sides."
Rekletiva says to Quetocuin, "You sorely underestimate all parties involved."
Malzard says to Coralin, "Drunken gambling sea hippies."
Malzard says to Coralin, "All of you."
Caelumia softly asks, "Galren?"
Coralin says to Malzard, "Don't start."
Quetocuin says to Rekletiva, "or I overestimate my guildmates"
Malzard asks, "Ah, now words matter?"
Galren says, "Cut the crap now. Keep it civil."
Rekletiva says to Quetocuin, "Of that, I already have no doubt."
Ghodbane says to Malzard, "It's a shame more don't agree with your views."
Terra asks, "What faith have you that this rogue Y'Shai will convince others to follow him?"
Rekletiva says to Quetocuin, "I mean, look at them. This is their idea of a fight."
Caelumia says to Rekletiva, "My idea of a fight has not begun."
Caelumia says, "There are many foolish and bloodthirsty men that wish to join the Y'shai for the sake of being able to spill blood."
Jappal asks, "What....instagated....the Y'shai...now?"
Quetocuin says to Galren, "I choose your side. I'll stand behind you and gather your treasure sir"
Caelumia says to Galren, "Tell him to check for polyps while he's up there."
Gallank says to Malzard, "Fer what it's worth, I agree wit ya more den other's 'ere. Not dat I agree completely wit ya."
Malzard says to Ghodbane, "And thank you, by the way."
Malzard says to Gallank, "I'm sure that does great things for my cause..."
Coralin says to Malzard, "Oh you have the Togs allegience. How wonderful."
Ghodbane says to Malzard, "You almost give me hope for the guild."
Rekletiva asks Ghodbane, "You're unsected, are you not?"
Caelumia says to Ghodbane, "The last time I spoke to you, you said very vehemently that you did not care about this guild or what happened to it."
Caelumia asks, "Suddenly change your mind?"
Ghodbane says, "I am hestitant to really mention much."
Ghodbane says, "I view the guild as falling apart."
Lerrasha asks, "i have not yet chosen a sect , either, any suggestions?"
Ghodbane says, "Now let's see how fast or slow we get there."
Caelumia says, "We will not get there."
Rekletiva says, "Be a Tezirite. It'll keep you out of the way."
Coralin says, "And you get to wear black and dark eye makeup."
Jappal says, "I am a Tezerite.....and I find it hard, on certain levels"
Ghodbane says to Rekletiva, "Yes, I am not completely affiliated with the many aspects of the guild."
Caelumia says to Lerrasha, "Join whichever sect aligns best with your personal philosophies."
Rekletiva says to Ghodbane, "You are more like Malzard than you realize."
Malzard says, "Except I do not believe in any way that we are falling apart."
Ghodbane says, "Coincidence then."
Ghodbane says, "That's where we differ."
Caelumia says, "This dissonance is precisely what the Children want. An attack on the Children would generate so much controversy...our guild would splinter apart even more."
Caelumia says, "Kreich aids them."
Eltrinel says, "That might suggest they have caused Kreich's actions."
Malzard says, "Splinter between those who would support the advancement of a group that would make us an illegal organiztion and those who would keep us neighbors with the Keep."
Coralin says, "Has anyone had contact with the Children? Maybe Kreich is working for them in some secret agenda."
Malzard says to Caelumia, "Perhaps the time has come..."
Quetocuin says, "random thought here. maybe Taramine sent Kreich on this mission in order to recover the information that the Children have uncovered"
Caelumia says to Malzard, "Splinter between those that believe mass murder is wrong and that the guild has risen above it and those that believe in genocide."
Quetocuin says, "assuming they have uncovered more sorcery"
Malzard says to Caelumia, "Your bleeding heart does not compel me."
Caelumia says to Coralin, "They are not."
Jappal says, "Maybe a dialogue, with them, or intel...might help....or at least find what instagated the Y'Shal...to want a war"
Malzard asks, "And we know this because of your close relationship with a Scion of Kalestraum, yes?"
Caelumia says, "I am not sure close is the appropriate word."
Caelumia says, "But yes. We spoke. In front of the Observatory, in fact."
Rekletiva says, "And here."
Coralin says, "How is dear Ealuik? It's been ages since I've seen him myself."
Caelumia says, "He regrets being unable to take his evening walks through Leth anymore."
Coralin says, "Understandably so."
Coralin says, "Aether Cloak does hinder ones enjoyment."
Caelumia says, "But the important bit was that I had his word that he would attempt to stop his people from killing students en masse."
Caelumia says to Malzard, "That -was- the goal, after all."
Eltrinel asks, "Could he perhaps then be motivating Kreich in order to get us to kill and squabble with each other instead?"
Malzard says to Caelumia, "It really was not a simple task for them before. We will defend ourselves, and have been granted greater knowledge and power to do just that."
Caelumia says, "He suspects it's to do with their inactivity. Look what happened the last time, after all."
Malzard says to Caelumia, "For all our friendly conversations..."
Caelumia says to Malzard, "I will say this very slowly for you so you understand."
Caelumia says, "Throne City. Tiv's Fortress. Taisgath."
Caelumia slowly says, "We. Did. Not. Win."
Caelumia says, "You want to inflate yourself like some egotistical sonofoabitch, taking heart when Taramaine tells you to 'try harder'...be my guest, it's your delusion to live in."
Malzard says to Caelumia, "Your perspective is not my own. You were...simply explosion fodder in those days."
Caelumia asks, "I still am. You think I have any kind of immunity from them?"
Malzard says, "Some of us manage a decent resistance."
Caelumia says, "I was on Taisgath when they put the damn artifact there. I died in Throne City."
Gallank loudly says to himself, "It takes two ta "squabble" so it's equally valid ta say disagreein wit 'em is causin a rift."
Malzard says, "When Orvdrue was made gone forever? When Xailes was finally brought down? And so many in the interum...."
Caelumia says to Malzard, "And you were not, and did not."
Malzard says, "Let us avoid the bloodshed if we can, but their poisonous attack has already begun."
Malzard says, "And it is vile and unforgiveable."
Coralin asks, "Poisonous attack? What spreading knowledge?"
Malzard says, "I was on Taisgath, and you're right, I did not die in Throne City..."
Malzard says, "I saw it clearly in my own visions, a leaden connection for victim and sorcerer alike."
Malzard asks, "Who knows what reckless effects it could have for all of us?"
Caelumia says, "Ah, how you forget."
Malzard says, "That -was- if goal to begin with. To molest and disrupt our connection through the obelisk"
Malzard says, "Ah, how you'll remind me."
Coralin says, "We're all biased that much is clear."
Marsais asks, "What happened with the obelisk on Taisgath?"
Caelumia says, "A device affixed to it."
Caelumia says, "It completely severed our connection to the Plane of Probability."
Marsais asks, "Our visions were severed then?"
Quetocuin asks, "for how long?"
Caelumia says, "No visions."
Caelumia says, "Not long. But long enough, for some."
Caelumia says, "For the first time in a very long time for some of us, we were forced to see the world as everyone else does."
Caelumia says, "And it was painful for some."
Marsais asks, "How long ago was this?"
Malzard says, "Yes...speaking of not forgetting."
Caelumia says, "18 years."
Quetocuin says, "no wonder I don't remember, I was only two"
Caelumia says to Sharilir, "A device affixed to the side of the obelisk."
Caelumia says, "The obelisk is an ancient artifact, and intimately tied with our connection to the Plane of Probability..."
Caelumia says, "I do not deny that the Children have done a great many things to us."
Quetocuin asks, "was this obelisk the thing people refer to as the turtle?"
Caelumia says, "The turtle is a turtle."
Quetocuin asks, "not the one that opened a gate to Ratha?"
Caelumia says, "No."
Quetocuin says, "ok. good to know"
Marsais says to Quetocuin, "They did destroy that too though."
Malzard asks Caelumia, "Do you see anything wrong with the magic they offer to us now?"
Malzard asks Caelumia, "Is that included in their wrong-doings?"
Gallank loudly says, "My tanks ta ya fer da knowledge."
Caelumia says to Malzard, "Many are at fault here."
Gallank just went east.
Malzard asks Caelumia, "Was that a non-answer?"
Quetocuin says to Sharilir, "something magic in Throne City that can open moongates without a moonbeam or somesuch"
Caelumia says, "Not liking the answer you are given does not mean you were not given one."
Malzard says, "And now evasive..."
Caelumia says, "You ask questions you know the answers to."
Caelumia says, "Yes, it is a terrible burden."
Malzard asks, "Worth bearing? Should our Guild take on their burden?"
Caelumia says, "And if the worst fate comes to pass, it may be that, in your words, we must use something terrible to prevent something worse."
Caelumia says, "It does not change the essential nature of the action, though."
Caelumia says, "It seems we are winding down though."
Caelumia asks, "Have any of you come to any conclusions?"
Eltrinel says, "Yes."
Quetocuin asks, "maybe I should've been a warrior mage? less thinking?"
Caelumia asks, "What, then?"
Galren says, "Pfft Warrior Mages."
Caelumia says, "I hope that I do not see any of you on the Y'shai's side."
Galren says, "Likewise."
Quetocuin says, "someone can't take a joke"
Eltrinel asks, "Though illegal, I do not know if Sorcery is 'wrong'. I do know wholesale genocide is wrong. And I hope that there is another choice besides inaction. How could their not be?"
Malzard says, "And I hope none of you choose to embrace, study, or Gods forbid memorize the sorcerous poison that is meant to destroy our Guild."
Caelumia says, "The ethics of sorcery are another thing it is ultimately up to individuals to decide. I will point out that it is incredibly dangerous, and nothing sorcery has ever wrought was good."
Quetocuin says, "I'd think some sort of guidance from the other guild leaders would be forthcoming"
Malzard says, "Which is being peddled by Kalestraum and their sympathizers."
Rekletiva says, "Guidance has been given, and repeated here."
Eltrinel says to Malzard, "Can you show me proof that sorcery is meant to destroy our guild? I asked you once before and you said you believe it is damaging but had not actual proof."
Caelumia says, "I would love to see what the other guildleaders say to Kreich."
Quetocuin says, "only Mortom so far"
Eltrinel asks, "If it cannot be proven... how can you abdicate genocide?"
Malzard asks Eltrinel, "Karosti means to desotry us, if you do not believe it, then perhaps you have never had the pleasure of meeting him. Would that be correct?"
Yavus asks, "And what council did Mortom give you about Kreich, Caelumia?"
Caelumia says, "That anyone that called themselves his student would not follow the Y'shai."
Eltrinel says to Malzard, "Karosti is not sorcery. "
Yavus says, "He gave you other advice as well."
Marsais asks, "The Children want revenge correct?"
Malzard says to Eltrinel, "His goal is the same, and his great works have turned to teleologic sorcery. So yes, he is sorcery. And in the most basic sense that was the initial splinter between the Children and the Progeny...."
Caelumia says, "That each student must decide for themselves."
Caelumia says to Marsais, "Among other things."
Caelumia says, "Do not act like the Progeny doesn't still practice, Malzard."
Eltrinel asks, "I'm not saying I support Sorcery... or side against it. I am wise enough to say I do not know. And nobody has proven it IS fangerous to others that aren't practicing it. So how can you say genocide is the answer to a theory we cannot prove?"
Malzard asks, "Are any here to defend themselves?"
Caelumia says, "The Y'shai are sorcerous creations, they hoard the most valuable of sorcerous texts."
Caelumia says, "If it is merely a matter of sorcery, both our hands are bloody."
Coralin says, "Every Moon Mage is tainted by sorcery, like it or not."
Caelumia says, "It's unfortunate. And one of many things that should be rectified."
Rekletiva says to Coralin, "Not all."
Malzard says to Eltrinel, "Your wisdom is folly."
Eltrinel says, "Then do correct me."
Court Mage Sherella just arrived.
Malzard says to Eltrinel, "If nothing else, it is a wholly illegal practice that will destroy our legitimacy."
Malzard says to Eltrinel, "That is your correction."
Sherella says, "Please accept my apologies for being late."
Caelumia says, "I thought you had forgotten about my invitation."
Malzard says to Sherella, "This is an honor."
Eltrinel asks Malzard, "It will destroy my legitamacy if I do not practice it? No. Can you prove your theory? No. So how can you say genocide is the answer?"
Sherella says to Caelumia, "Not at all, I intended to show up earlier."
Augur Aesthea just arrived.
Sherella slowly says, "My duties kept me longer than I anticipated, however."
Occultist Aseron just arrived.
Malzard asks Eltrinel, "It will destroy -our- legitimacy if we embrace the practice. Dear Gods are you insane...?"
Caelumia says to Sherella, "We are having interesting arguments."
Malzard says to Eltrinel, "It is outlawed! Master Kssarh would be disgusted..."
Sherella asks Caelumia, "Is that so?"
Caelumia says, "Perhaps you're aware of the issue of the Y'shai already."
Eltrinel says to Malzard, "I do not practice it. I do not support it. Neither do I support genocide. "
Sherella quietly says, "Word has reached me."
Quetocuin says to Caelumia, "might you introduce our guest? not all of us have met her yet"
Caelumia says, "This is Sherella Ellion-Braun, Court Seer of Zoluren and sister to Taramaine."
Caelumia says, "Really a delightful woman."
Quetocuin says, "a pleasure to meet you"
Quetocuin bows to Sherella.
Sherella says to Caelumia, "You are too kind."
Yavus says, "Kinder to the sister than the brother."
Caelumia asks, "Boys can take it, can't they?"
Caelumia says to Sherella, "I have attempted to assure the students that Taramaine is not a fool that would order a strike on the Children, as it would only serve to splinter the guild."
Caelumia asks, "Is there word from Throne yet on whether or not the Y'shai is indeed rogue?"
Sherella says to Caelumia, "I hope your words have been heard then. My brother is not a cruel man."
Malzard says to Sherella, "Yet the direction to defend ourselves against corruption is clear."
Sherella slowly says, "I haven't been able to speak with Taramaine in some time. We have both been very busy recently."
Caelumia exclaims to Malzard, "That does not mean mass murder!"
Sherella says to Celitha, "I appreciate the offer, but I should not show up to the court stinking of alcohol."
Marsais asks Sherella, "What do you think of the Y'shai's actions?"
Celitha says to Sherella, "of course , Court Mage , how thoughtless of me"
Sherella says to Marsais, "A Y'Shai acting without orders is extremely dangerous. I don't think he should be taken for anything other than a threat."
Caelumia asks Sherella, "Do you think his destruction might be called for if he cannot be dissuaded?"
Galren asks Malzard, "And threats need to be removed correct?"
Sherella says, "I don't believe I am in any position to decide on the fate of such an aberration."
Sherella says, "He will be handled in some way, I am sure of that."
Coralin says, "Always the perfect statesman."
Terra asks Sherella, "Forgive me, as I am but a Lore Keeper, but do you have any idea what would cause a Y'Shai to suddenly go rogue?"
Sherella says to Terra, "There are many people more educated on the process than I. Even some in this room may fit that description."
Malzard says, "Really, with Kreich...not so sudden."
Quetocuin asks, "can you be certain your brother didn't send him on his mission though? has anyone spoken with him directly?"
Sherella says, "As far as I have heard, this Y'Shai has been an issue previously."
Quetocuin asks, "could something have changed his mind?"
Galren says, "Bold question to ask young one."
Quetocuin says, "I only seek knowledge, excuse the brashness of my questions please"
Sherella says, "My brother is not a foolish man."
Aseron quietly says, "It is one thing to send the Y'shai. It is another to send it and command it to lie."
Sherella says, "This Y'Shai has acted without any semblance of tact, as far as I understand it."
Sherella says, "To assume that Taramaine was behind it is..."
Yavus says, "Politics..."
Caelumia asks Sherella, "Do you believe it to be correct?"
Sherella asks Caelumia, "The Y'Shai?"
Caelumia says, "The Y'shai."
Sherella says, "The Children have caused many problems for our guild in the past."
Sherella slowly says, "However."
Sherella says, "To suggest that they should be cleansed through violence at this point in time may be a bit hasty."
Malzard says to Caelumia, "May be....a bit..."
Yavus asks, "Is it also hasty to say the Y'shai should be cleansed?"
Caelumia says, "The Y'shai should be stopped and made to obey."
Caelumia says, "And if that isn't possible..."
Galren says, "I'm afraid I must take my leave. Enjoy the rest of your meeting everyone."
Battle Lord Galren just went south.
Malzard says, "They poison our students and sow the seeds of illegal magic within our ranks. That...may be...worthy of...a bit of a reaction from us."
Sherella says, "Perhaps if I were a little more familiar with their creation, I may be able to provide a more definite answer."
Stritan raises his arms skyward, chanting.
Caelumia says, "I cannot say based on what I know if getting him under control is possible. Our knowledge is lacking."
Sherella says to Malzard, "Violence is not always the first and only answer to corruption."
Malzard says to Sherella, "It was my intial hope, and one I expressed to Kreich himself, that we could combat the magic, and not the men."
Malzard says, "I have learned to hedge my bets in regards to hope..."
Sherella says, "I can imagine that the allure of such magic is difficult to combat."
Marsais says to Malzard, "But if the Y'shai were created using the thing that you wish them to destory... "
Sherella asks, "When so many of our own have accepted it, where do you start extricating it?"
Caelumia says, "When our leaders accept it."
Malzard says to Marsais, "The Y'Shai are terrible, but there is reason to believe they might serve an even greater purpose..."
Rekletiva says to Malzard, "You could say the same about sorcery and the Children."
Malzard says to Marsais, "I have only heard rumors of it."
Malzard says to Rekletiva, "No, I cannot."
Marsais says, "As have I."
Sherella says to Caelumia, "Please forgive my intrusion. I did not intend on stealing the conversation this way."
Malzard says to Rekletiva, "And what I know of their studies would lead me to believe their endeavors would ultimately destroy the walls that the Y'Shai create for us."
Caelumia says to Sherella, "I was hoping more people could see reason. Perhaps you'll be able to convince those that I couldn't."
Marsais says, "Our guild was formed to pursue knowledge... not to be hindered by walls."
Malzard says to Sherella, "Your opinion is vital."
Rekletiva says to Marsais, "That's not true."
Marsais asks Rekletiva, "Why were we formed?"
Caelumia says, "Survival."
Malzard says to Sherella, "You may not speak for your brother, but you have a reasoned and respectable mind and perspective."
Sherella says, "I am merely the sister of a great man. My opinions aren't worth more than any others'."
Marsais asks Caelumia, "Survival? What was the threat?"
Dricila says, "you say not worth more but just as vital to our learning"
Caelumia says to Marsais, "Dissolution, persecution...time."
Caelumia says, "The guild, and the foundations of it, have made mistakes in the past."
Caelumia says, "To allow these mistakes to damn us to the same cycle of violence is foolish though."
Marsais says, "Then we must find another solution."
You say, "I think they made it very obvious through their actions that the kind of magic the Children pursue is not the kind of magic they intended for the Guild of Lunar Mages to embrace."
You say, "So if you invoke the name and intentions of the founders..."
Caelumia says to you, "The Nomads have learned more than the Celestians, then."
Coralin says, "Why it deals with fate as far as we've seen which is what we are deeply tied to."
Yavus asks, "Do we know who this Y'shai guarded?"
Caelumia asks you, "The Nomads realized the path of bloodshed was the wrong one. Why can't the rest of us?"
Coralin asks, "Who Kreich belonged to?"
You say, "If you want to go talk the Children out of studying sorcery to prevent a clash, please do so. I'm sure they'll listen to you better than the rest of us anyway."
Yavus says, "Aye"
Yavus asks, "Who did Kreich belong to?"
Caelumia says to you, "It is more than anyone else has managed to accomplish."
Rekletiva says to Yavus, "I believe it has been said he belongs to Erzebet Crowther."
Malzard asks Caelumia, "Accomplish?"
Coralin asks, "I feel like he was one of Erzebet's...but aren't they all really?"
Malzard darkly says to Caelumia, "You practically work for him."
Caelumia asks Malzard, "Please, are you giving in to stupid rumors too?"
Coralin asks, "The Crowther's have been entirely too reclusive as of late. Has anyone seen Erzebet or Annisean?"
Eltrinel asks, "So if Kreich worked for Crowther... does that not lend some support to the theory earlier that Kreich's actions are motivated by the Children to cause a split in the Moon Mage Guild and weaken us?"
Coralin says, "Kreich has stated before he thinks Erzebet is insane and power hungry."
Eltrinel asks, "Which might be exactly what he was told to say?"
Yavus says, "That is a lot of thought for a Y'shai"
Caelumia says to Eltrinel, "How? The Progeny is not a friend to the Children."
Eltrinel says, "I do not know... just putting orth a theory"
Dricila says, "Masacre and "cleansing" are most accurately described as murder not correction, though times they do change and things must be done when the need so does come, to shed blood for ones own beliefs and not the will of all is ..well..not tolerable"
Coralin says, "I say it again, I would not be surprised if Erzebet was still controlling Kreich and carrying out some personal vendetta."
Celitha asks, "is it possible pardon for someone or something to perpetuate the illusion that they are Y'shai?"
Caelumia says, "It's a bloody stupid thing to do for anyone that cares about the guild."
Terra says to Coralin, "You don't think highly of such a noble family."
Caelumia says to Celitha, "No."
Coralin says to Terra, "I certainly do not. "
Quetocuin asks Caelumia, "not even a Dragon Priest in disguise?"
Caelumia says, "Part of the process of creating a Y'shai involves fusing to them a custom made suit of cambrinth-alloy armor, complete with a unique mask."
Caelumia says, "It is permanently fused to their skin."
Coralin says to Terra, "Kreich killed your step daughter once upon a time, you'd think you would be speaking out a little more."
Caelumia says, "The process for creating such an armor is plainly a guild secret."
Terra says to Quetocuin, "I believe perhaps the only beings even capable of a remotely similar task might be the Ocular, and still then, I think imitating the Y'Shai would be a task beyond even their sinister abilities."
Celitha says, "secrets may be leaked"
Terra says to Coralin, "I had nothing to do with Pathian's indiscretions in the Plane of Probability."
Malzard says, "A girl who eventually accepted some unknown depth of sorcerous power, recreating life as a Moon Mage, and breaking in to the very heart of our sacred vaults."
Malzard says, "To raid of coffers."
Terra says to Coralin, "Besides, it would seem he is lost to us."
Caelumia says to Celitha, "It is plain you do not understand the process of creating a Y'shai, nor the result. You cannot fake being a Y'shai."
Marsais quietly says, "Excuse me all, I must be on my way."
Caelumia says, "I hope the matter of a rogue Y'shai has some sort of urgency in Throne."
Sherella says, "I am sure it has not gone unnoticed."
Celitha says, "if the process is so perfect , i do not see how there could be a rogue then"
Quetocuin asks, "how long ago did this meeting with Mortom happen?"
Caelumia says, "Weeks, if that."
Eltrinel asks Celitha, "Perhaps the Y'shai was effected after his creation and not due to the process?"
Caelumia says, "Not very long ago, in any case."
Quetocuin says, "I'd think there'd be more urgency by all the guild leaders in forming opinions then"
Caelumia says, "It's a matter of time before he manages to rally support from the bloodthirsty and those too stupid to know better."
Celitha asks, "perhaps, what would effect one so drastically then do ye suppose?"
Rekletiva says to Quetocuin, "He'd be more careful, after Mortom rejected him."
Eltrinel says, "My guess? the direct influence or control of a powerful mage."
Caelumia says, "It is a matter of willpower. No one said the process was perfect, either."
Jessmen asks, "Might I ask, how difficult is it to kill a Y'shai and does anybody know if they have any weaknesses?"
Quetocuin says to Rekletiva, "do the guild leaders not speak? I'd find it hard to believe Mortom hadn't informed them of the meeting"
Rekletiva says, "The guildleaders have likely already made their decisions."
Sherella says to Jessmen, "As far as I understand it, the Y'Shai are extremely potent in physical combat."
Caelumia says, "I know of two Y'shai that have died."
Caelumia says, "One due to the actions of our Guildmaster."
Caelumia says, "The other due to Tezirah herself."
Caelumia says, "They are not easy to kill. Their physical power is incredibly impressive and is still dwarfed by their magical power."
Aseron quietly says, "It is said only a fool or a god will face one."
Caelumia says, "So it's not simply a matter of...oh, let's go subdue it, or kill it."
Caelumia says, "He has stated his purpose."
You say, "Await the outcome then, to be more to the point."
Caelumia asks, "To what end, then?"
Jeswina grins at Wabo.
Wabo grins at Jessmen.
Wabo nods.
Jessmen laughs!
Dechtire grins at Jessmen.
Caelumia says to Malzard, "I do wish the outsiders would share with the rest of the group."
Quetocuin says, "sounds like we're back to the same place we started"
You say, "One can't do much more than speculate. If a Y'Shai declares open combat by himself and actually follows through with it, the logical outcome is that he'll either destroy the Children or we learn that Karosti himself can destroy a Y'Shai."
You ask, "And then we just have to decide from there, don't we?"
Quetocuin says, "lesser of two evils and all that"
You say, "Stronger of two evils."
Eltrinel asks, "If Kreich is a juggernaut unstoppable by any of us. And the Guild Leaders choose to not support him.... or fight against him... then what really can we do?"
Caelumia says, "I cannot stand idly by as a Y'shai claiming to act for the guild attempts to murder many people."
Eltrinel asks Caelumia, "What do you propose we do?"
Caelumia says, "Act as you see fit."
Sherella says to Caelumia, "You must be careful that taking part does not simply add to the number of bodies in the aftermath."
Caelumia says to Sherella, "I am hoping the guild will do something about it before it reaches that point."
Terra says, "I must take my leave."
Dricila says, "From the, sorry to say, sad turn out this meeting that Caelumia has been from what I see working hard to organize most moonies will have still no idea or caring to the weakness in our civality at this time, we will end up with a wait for outcome before we as a guild find our guidance, we can make a choice or we can make none, both seem a bit futile."
Aes-Danai Terra just went east.
Caelumia says, "There is always something to do."
Caelumia says, "The choice simply isn't always apparent."
Malzard says, "I feel I've said my piece."
Eltrinel says to Caelumia, "Which is why I was asking for a plan of action."
Caelumia says to Eltrinel, "I have mine."
Caelumia says to Eltrinel, "All I can is encourage you to find your own."
Caelumia says, "That was the whole point."
Sherella says to Malzard, "I believe I have participated in the only way that I can for now. I shall leave further decisions to those more appropriate to make them."
Malzard says to Sherella, "I regret you were not here earlier, yet you have still added to the discussion in the way you can. Thank you for that."
Malzard says to Sherella, "I suppose you only missed our own back and forth."
Malzard says, "Your position is, of course, a bit above all that."
Caelumia says to Malzard, "She is a Moon Mage too."
Caelumia says, "She has a stake in all of this as we all do."
Sherella says, "I would be glad to be thought of as just another mage while I am not acting for the court."
Yavus says, "If you happen to see your brother, we seem to need a little guidance in the near future."
You say, "Don't tell him anyone said that though."
Rekletiva says, "I don't think I want to be called a kitten again."
Caelumia asks Yavus, "He has been unwilling to offer it. Do you not remember his meeting?"
Malzard says, "Hand holding..."
Malzard says, "Kittens."
Caelumia says, "Something Taramaine and Karosti agree on apparently."
Malzard says to Rekletiva, "And I'm sorry to do it so soon after you expressed a desire not to be..."
Caelumia says to Eltrinel, "I do not want it said that I called people here so I could tell them what to do."
Malzard says, "This has been an open forum, and we should commend Caelumia for bringing us together."
Yavus says, "Caelumia offers insight"
Eltrinel says, "I would never say such a thing. I simply do not know what options are open to me for action. "
Caelumia says, "Sure, all smiles now."
Coralin says, "Information has been spread which is beneficial."
Malzard says to Coralin, "The same words you used earlier..."
Caelumia says, "Try not to be an apathetic idiot, to start. I think that would be a major improvement for much of the guild."
Eltrinel says, "I do not want to sit and wait and not work for the best.... however I do not know what else I can do."
Quetocuin says, "I'm more confused now. at least before I was uninformed and blissfully so"
Coralin says, "People should make an informed decision."
You say, "The options have been laid out for you several times during this meeting."
Eltrinel says to Caelumia, "I have never been accused of apathy and I hope I never shall."
Marsais just arrived.
Sherella quietly says, "If you can all forgive me, I believe I shall return to the keep."
Eltrinel asks you, "The options being to join the Y'shai in battle or stand against him in battle?"
Malzard says to Caelumia, "This one is extremely careful. Not apathetic."
Sherella says to Caelumia, "Thank you for inviting me to your meeting."
Caelumia says to Eltrinel, "More than that."
Caelumia says to Sherella, "Thank you for coming."
You say, "Those are two of them."
Malzard says to Sherella, "Good day."
Sherella says to Caelumia, "Of course. Perhaps I could make it on time to another at some point."
Court Mage Sherella just went east.
Marsais asks, "So I miss anything while I was walkin' round in a circle?"
Caelumia says, "Not really."
Caelumia says, "I'm glad everyone could come."
Eltrinel says, "Well then I must contemplate and search my memory. I've heard many philosophical opinions... but little in the way of courses for direct action we can take other then those two."
Yavus says, "Thanks Caelumia"
Eltrinel says to Caelumia, "Thank you for organizing and hosting."
Marsais says to Caelumia, "Thanks for having this."
Caelumia says to Eltrinel, "You'll come up with your own way in your own time."
Quetocuin says, "thanks for the meeting"
Quetocuin says, "even if I'm more confused now than ever"
Professor Yavus just went east.
Marsais just went south.
Quetocuin says, "guess I should find a library and start reading more"
Rekletiva says, "Confusion is a natural result of thought."
Darkling Jessmen's group just went south.
Caelumia says, "Just pray you're right, I suppose."
Rekletiva says, "Well, a natural result of insufficient thought."
Eltrinel says, "Or the result of absorbing many various opinions by many more experienced then myself."
Rekletiva cheerfully says, "Think them through."
Quetocuin says to Rekletiva, "my head hurts trying to come up with a comeback"
Caelumia says to Eltrinel, "Don't think of it like that."
Caelumia says, "I'm not more right just because I've been here longer."
Caelumia says, "It just means I've died a lot more."
Malzard asks Eltrinel, "Still putting yourself down?"
Quetocuin says, "or you have a personal interest in one side"
Caelumia says, "My allegiances are fairly clear."
Malzard says, "Luckily no one will believe Caelumia -opposes- mass murder."
Quetocuin says, "I'm still confused I guess and I mean no disrepect...."
Quetocuin asks, "but you say you're on the side of the guild yet you know the Shadebringer personally?"
Eltrinel says to Malzard, "I believe that those who know most about a situation are better able to make a decision. I do not think myself unintelligent or incapable of choosing. However you all have more insight then I. I try to draw from that insight in making my own choices."
Quetocuin asks, "don't those two things contradict each other?"
Caelumia says, "I don't know the Shadebringer personally."
Malzard says to Eltrinel, "Ahhh, I see it helps us all to be more specific. That makes a great deal of sense."
Quetocuin asks, "didn't you say you've spoken with him directly?"
Caelumia says, "Not the Shadebringer, no."
Malzard says to Eltrinel, "I appreciate you getting me to put a point on the matter. For myself."
Rekletiva says to Quetocuin, "Dialogue does not prohibit disagreement, in any case."
Quetocuin asks, "who am I thinking you said you've met with?"
Malzard says to Quetocuin, "She is the favored pet of one of his direct subordinates. A Scion. Ealuik."
Caelumia asks, "Pet?"
Quetocuin says, "oh"
Quetocuin says, "and ouch, bad wording there"
Malzard asks, "Was it?"
Malzard says, "I failed to notice."
Dricila says, "Caelumia a pet, interesting notion."
Caelumia says, "I will have Galren eat your face come next moonskin."
Malzard asks Coralin, "Offended, aren't you? Wish it was you?"
Quetocuin says, "I'll keep my mouth shut before you all come to blows"
Caelumia says to Malzard, "I am no such thing."
Coralin says, "He'll keep his mouth shut as well, he's not an idiot and he knows he's gone far enough."
Quetocuin asks Rekletiva, "nice weather we're having eh?"
Caelumia says, "Your vitriol is offensive."
Rekletiva says to Quetocuin, "It's daytime. There can be no nice weather when the stars are washed out by the ambient light of a too bright fixture."
Caelumia says to Malzard, "And you may reject all I try to do... but do not poison the minds of students with that garbage."
Quetocuin says, "I should never have gotten out of bed today"
Malzard asks, "Garbage?"
Coralin says, "Garbage."
Malzard asks Caelumia, "Has he not seen great things in your? Has he not told you as much?"
Malzard asks Caelumia, "Have you not since then forged a closer relationship than most?"
Malzard asks Caelumia, "Have you not brought artifacts to him to aid in his research?"
Malzard asks Caelumia, "Have you not accepted his vile research into your own hands?"
Quetocuin says, "ok it's turning into personal attacks. time for me to get while it's safe to get"
Quetocuin says, "thank you for the meeting and the differing views"
Quetocuin says, "good food for thought"
Rekletiva says, "Enjoy."
Quetocuin just went east.
Coralin says to Malzard, "Back off Malzard. You've made your point."
Caelumia asks Malzard, "Have you not accepted it from me?"
Malzard says, "Indeed, I did."
Malzard asks, "Did I not return it?"
Caelumia says, "Then don't condemn me for doing the same."
Malzard says, "I shall. Peddler."
Caelumia says to Malzard, "You cavort with sorcerers more closely than I ever have."
Malzard says, "I simply condemn your peddling, and not your acceptance, then."
Caelumia says to Malzard, "I have never shared a bed with one."
Mystic Kreanth just arrived.
Dricila says, "This is entirely too personal for my ears..time to run off"
Malzard says to Caelumia, "Theres nothing sorcerous about sex. If you had more of it you might know that."
Kreanth gasps!
Caelumia slaps Malzard hard across his face with her hand, making a nice crisp smack!! That's going to leave a mark!
Eltrinel frowns.
Kreanth says, "what did I walk in on"
Rekletiva says to Kreanth, "You picked an ideal time to arrive."
Kreanth ponders.
(Malzard rubs his cheek tenderly.)
Malzard fixes Caelumia with a calm, clear stare.
Malzard says, "You might be less of..."
Malzard shakes his head.
Kreanth says, "I dont know, sex with me can be very sorcerous"
Malzard says, "...nevermind."
Rev. Reene
You turn the gaharzen a few ways, trying to activate it. You hear an unsettling metallic click, and the gaharzen vibrates slightly in your hand.
The gaharzen pulses a moment then shatters in majestic beauty, sending slivers flying.

You turn the gaharzen a few ways, trying to activate it. You hear an unsettling metallic click, and the gaharzen vibrates slightly in your hand.
The gaharzen pulses a moment then shatters in majestic beauty, sending slivers flying.

Ok, so . . .
Once upon a time some folks (F1) learned how to do something.
Later, other folks (F2) did not want to them to do that, so they tried to kill them all,
But, they failed.
And yet, they (F2) claim to run the "guild,"
But F2 are not all of the same mind.
And F2 do not, can not, or will not be bothered to talk straight with us.
And F2 do not "run" us other than controlling the spells we can learn and the rate of our gain.
Now, someone (Y1) wants F2 to finish the job they started of killing the F1, but we do not know "who" is behind it.
And we are peons.
F1 are stronger than us.
F2 are stronger than us.
Y1 is stronger than us.
None of them will tell us anything more than cryptic reasons and vaugue morality.
Certainly, none of them will be completely open and honest with us.
And yet, somehow, we think F1 and F2 both want us to do something.
As for morality, Bah.
We are as bad as any of them; when we do not like something, we kill or threaten to;
The art of reasoned persuasion is lost.
So how can we expect to "talk" to any of "them" (F1, F2, Y1) to convince them to change,
when we cannot even talk to ourselves.
(Thank you for proving this by bringing an "enforcer" to a meeting).
And by the way, the Nomad culture is NOT that war is bad; only unjust (and the like) war is bad.
So, in the end,
Somebody wants a conflict,
But what is in it for us,
Other than mere killing for its own sake,
Which some of us like?
So, cry Havoc!, and let slip the dogs of war.
Its just more of the same in the end.
