I edited this to take out some of the irrelevant nonsense. Side note, moving jewelry should be banned from stuff like this ;) (kidding, sort of).
Honestly, there isn't much here that wasn't in the first couple of logs information-wise. But it was good for everyone to get together and get on the same page.
Thank you to Madigan for setting this up, and to Gebo, Alaxndr and Penderrin for speaking.
[Paladins' Guild, The Great Chamber]
Tapestries and flickering torches line the walls of the circular meeting room. Eight sets of silverwood benches, arranged in ascending rows, face a central speaker's podium. The topmost row, a full three Tog-lengths above the main floor, sits at eye level with a large chandelier that hangs from the ceiling. You also see a forged steel table with some stuff on it, some brass-bound ironwood doors and a winding ironwood staircase.
Also here: Zombious who is sitting, Sir Glemm who is sitting, Iyowen, Bistro, Templar Baelor who is sitting, Elurloene, Sir Erieck who is sitting, Squire Xalfirie, Sergeant Bazzile, Squire Janneth, Senior Commander Gwenddolyn who is sitting, Naienna who is sitting, Squire Xalahai who is sitting, Illumined Warrior Adongonif, Sergeant Scaevola who is sitting, Rumael who is sitting, Steadfast Casserah, Emerald Knight Loqutis, Warrior of Virtue Divy, Xomdir, Guardswoman Heplythea, Chief Marshal Silus, Mordea who is sitting, Iskhhr who is sitting, Squire Jeniveve, Emerald Knight Penderrin, Archivist Alaxndr who is sitting, Murrachan who is sitting, Dandon, Shield Warden Aaiyaah who is sitting, Iron Rose Matalynd, Zozuskar, Teilnsar who is sitting, Sir Fenyr, Sir Madigan who is sitting, Paragon Rivalin, Granyt, Squire Keadrick who is sitting, Ironguts Vendskar, Madame Satchiko who is sitting, Gannslide who is sitting, Sebestyen who is sitting, Gebo who is sitting, Sacred Fist Uthgaar who is sitting, Zhyan who is sitting, Sentry Kortok who is sitting, Vindicator Jerid who is sitting.
Madigan asks, "First, may I ask for a volunteer to take notes and post the transcript of this meeting?"
You nod to Madigan.
You say, "I am."
Madigan says, "Kattena, thank you so much."
Uthgaar looks at you and lets out a hearty cheer on your behalf!
Silus nods.
Madigan says, "Here is the Agenda."
Uthgaar says, "Frees me up for drinking."
Madigan says, "Introduction, Madigan."
Scaevola sighs softly as the pale yellow sparks surrounding his body fade away.
Madigan says, "Existing Paladin Code, Gebo, Squire to Alaxndr."
Madigan says, "History of the Council, Alaxndr."
Madigan says, "Two short prize questions."
Alaxndr nods politely.
Madigan says, "Oane Accusation, and some facts. Penderrin."
Madigan says, "Then, Open Forum."
Madigan says, "The Intro is short and sweet."
Madigan says, "Thanks for coming. I am honored to be around so many great paladins."
Uthgaar nods in agreement.
Madigan says, "I ask that we respect the floor for whomever is talking."
Madigan says, "If you are talking, I ask that you respect my slight moderation if I feel necessary to move things along."
Madigan says, "When we reach Open Forum, anyone can speak and should. I will keep a list, so just whisper to me if you wish to be heard."
Madigan says, "No paladin is above anyone here, so let us all conduct ourselves with honor."
Madigan smiles warmly.
Alaxndr nods in agreement.
Penderrin nods.
Madigan says, "With that, Gebo, Squire to Alaxndr."
Madigan gestures at Gebo.
Gebo stands up.
Gebo adjusts his gauntlets into place.
Gebo coughs.
Penderrin pats Gebo on the back.
Gebo takes a quick quarter turn followed by a flourishing bow, his greatcloak billowing out behind him in a display of brocade material.
Gebo calmly says, "A Paladin supports and defends Good and opposes Evil."
Gebo confidently says, "A Paladin is a Leader in righteous combat."
(Gebo looks around the room with pride)
Gebo calmly says, "When it is necessary to fight, the Paladin will seek to guide and inspire his comrades, taking a forward position in the battle and facing the foe boldly. A Paladin does not hide from his foe or sneak about."
Gebo sternly says, "A Paladin is a Protector."
Gebo taps a tower shield painted with the words, "Death before dishonor!" that he is wearing.
Gebo confidently says, "He will seek to prevent harm to the innocent and will place himself at risk in order to accomplish this if need be."
Gebo sternly says, "A Paladin is Just and works to promote and enforce Justice and the Law."
Gebo cautiously says, "If a Paladin does not agree with a law, he must still respect it and should work to change it rather than disregarding it. The only exception to this is if the Paladin believes the law to be truly Evil. In this instance, the Paladin must follow the dictates of his conscience."
Gebo raises his hand.
Gebo happily says, "A Paladin is Honest."
Gebo kindly says, "He will not lie or otherwise seek to deceive a person. A Paladin does not cheat or seek to take unfair advantage in his dealings with others."
Gebo taps himself on the chest.
Gebo calmly says, "A Paladin is Loyal."
Gebo confidently says, "He does not betray his god, his liege-lord, his guild, his family, or his friends."
Gebo sternly says, "A Paladin is Holy."
Gebo hopefully says, "He seeks to do that which pleases his god in all manners of the Code, and knows that the purity of his soul has a profound impact on the abilities the gods bless him with."
Gebo yells, "I honor this code, I pledge my body and soul to it. I, am a Paladin!"
Gebo raises one arm above his head and then brings it down to the ground in front of him, kicking both legs briefly in the air before standing up straight again and taking a flourishing bow.
Madigan says, "Thanks Gebo."
Gebo sits down on the silverwood bench.
Madigan says, "Alaxndr will give us a brief history of the paladin council."
Madigan gestures at Alaxndr.
Alaxndr nods to Madigan.
Alaxndr says, "Thank you, brother."
Alaxndr says, "Greetings, bretheren."
Alaxndr says, "I am Alaxndr Durnovaria. I recognize many of you and have the pleasure of calling you friend."
Alaxndr says, "There are also many faces new to me, and I hope to have the chance to get to know you. It does my heart good to see this hall so full."
Alaxndr says, "I have been tasked by those organizing this meeting to give a short discussion on the history of our beloved guild."
Alaxndr says, "A task, which I did not realize at the time, was quite monumental."
Madigan ponders and, that is why we passed the buck to you sir.
Alaxndr confidently says, "Quite fruitful, however. I hope a glimpse into our past will shed light on current predicaments."
You laugh at Madigan!
Alaxndr chuckles.
Xalahai appears to be trying hard not to grin.
Alaxndr says, "And I do appreciate that honor."
Alaxndr winks at Madigan.
Alaxndr asks, "Shall we get to it, then?"
Alaxndr raises an eyebrow.
Alaxndr says, "Throughout recorded history there have always been individuals who have been called by the Immortals to become Paladins."
Alaxndr says, "These individuals were set apart, never coming together and forming the sacred bond we here in this room share as guildmates."
Alaxndr emphatically says, "It was four centuries ago, around 8 BL, that seven individuals came together to create our organization, its leadership and its charter."
Alaxndr says, "The original seven members were Syal, Hraige, Csilla, Jerthay, Jenton, Dreldan and Medern."
Alaxndr says, "These seven were the first Council, though they would not have called themselves that for they neither had council chambers or a guildhall. They simply discussed ideas and issues around the campfire."
Alaxndr says, "Syal is considered to be our founding member by most historians. Certainly Syal, Hraige and Csillia were the first three, as the others are recorded as joining them as much as 5 years later."
Alaxndr says, "Sadly, not much is known about Syal. What little I could uncover I will share."
Alaxndr says, "Syal was a human, the youngest son born into lower nobility. When the gods called upon him, he left his life of ease to follow the visions given to him."
Alaxndr says, "He was being raised to become a monk, but the Immortals had other ideas."
Alaxndr says, "I could find little records of what these visions entailed, however it is widely documented that he shared these visions with Baron Falstad of Therengia."
Alaxndr nods politely.
Alaxndr says, "Hraige documented that Csilla was the one who helped Syal decipher his visions."
Alaxndr says, "They seemed to center on, at least at that time in his life, the Dragon Priests and the evils that they called upon. The first seven offered their services in battling these foes, which is why the Barons' patronage continues to this day."
Alaxndr says, "All that is known about his death is that he sacrificed his life to save his friends. There has been much speculation surrounding this event, known as 'The Bonding'."
Alaxndr says, "Hraige's journal attempts to describe this event but sadly, at the end of his life he was plagued with a malady that attacked his memory and his writings are sporadic, at best."
Alaxndr regretfully says, "A sad end to Syal's mentor and a hierarch of the guild."
Alaxndr says, "After Syal's death, the Baron gave recognition to the remaining 6 and allowed a guildhall to be created."
Alaxndr says, "Medern oversaw the creation and acted as guildleader for this hall. We know he lived to an old age, but was murdered. I could uncover no hard facts of his death."
Alaxndr says, "This guildhall was situated in Therenborough, and was the only guildhall the city would see."
Alaxndr says, "Sadly, it burned down many years later."
Alaxndr says, "Syal and Medern were not the only ones to come to a shady end. Csillia, after leaving the council, was never heard from again."
Alaxndr says, "Jerthay died of plague and his twin brother, Jenton, died shortly after. Dreldan seems to be the only one to die of natural causes."
Alaxndr says, "More would follow in their footsteps. Emille was one, a memeber of the second generation of councilmembers. She was well known for leading a revolt in the mountain region, though it is not documented as to what for."
Alaxndr says, "She left the council in 35 AV to found the guildhall in Hibarnhvidar."
Alaxndr says, "Oane has notes on the excavation of her tomb that is in that very guildhall."
Alaxndr says, "A matter which will, I assume, be discussed later in this meeting."
Alaxndr says, "Kraphae was another second generation council member. Though ambitious, his ambitions led him to steal many valuable artifacts."
Alaxndr furrows his brow.
Alaxndr says, "In 79 AV Karaphae was deemed guilty of artifact thievery and impeached from the council. Official comments cite treachery and a lack of Paladin virtues."
Alaxndr hesitantly says, "There were some who implicated him in Medern's murder, saying that Medern found Karaphae's secret and was killed for it. This accusation has not been substantiated with fact, however."
Alaxndr says, "Other noteable figures in the Paladin guild pertanent to todays discussion include Beren and Oane."
Alaxndr says, "Beren was the original founder of this very guildhall. Quite some time into his tenure, the council deemed the morality of Paladin's had declined."
Alaxndr says, "They took it upon themselves to relieve Beren and instate Darius, the youngest recorded guildleader. Most of you knew Darius when he was here, or know him now as the guildleader in Hibarnhvidar."
Alaxndr says, "Beren has not been seen nor heard from since by any I know."
You frown.
Penderrin grins slowly.
Alaxndr says, "Oane Hannitraulm is a council mandated researcher for the Paladin guild. He has penned some fantastic writings on both fact and speculation concerning the history of Paladins."
Alaxndr says, "In fact, much of the information I have gathered and shared heretofore has come either from his books or a series of lectures he presented some years past."
Alaxndr says, "The council is currently made up of these members: Argred Talinga, Asilias, who assisted Oane in the excavation in the Hibarnhvidar guildhall,."
Alaxndr says, "Grechard Ironward, Rymoor Ghelan, Shinia Lorefist, Verahn Desuin, and Vyran."
Alaxndr says, "That is the information that I have gathered. I hope it is pertinent to our remaining discussion."
Alaxndr smiles.
Madigan stands up.
Alaxndr says, "If you wish to see the references I consulted, please see me privately afterwards."
Alaxndr draws his greatcloak aside, and bows courteously, sweeping his free hand before him.
Madigan says, "Top notch Alaxndr."
Madigan says, "Ok, right on schedule."
Madigan says, "We are going to do two questions for which there will be prizes."
Madigan gestures at Sebestyen.
Sebestyen stands up.
Madigan says, "Sebestyen will assist in this exercise, and he has donated the two prizes."
Madigan says, "The first person to whisper the answer to Sebestyen will be awarded the prize."
Madigan says, "Here is the first question."
Madigan asks, "Who was the first paladin guildleader?"
Sebestyen says, "We have an answer."
Madigan says, "Go ahead and pass the prize my friend."
Sebestyen smiles at Kortok.
Madigan calmly says, "It seems I need to find harder questions."
Zhyan asks, "What was the answer?"
Madigan says, "Medern, in Therengia."
Sebestyen gets a throwing hammer topped with a snarling lion's head from inside his travel pack.
Sebestyen offers Kortok a throwing hammer topped with a snarling lion's head.
Kortok accepts Sebestyen's throwing hammer.
Madigan lets out a loud "Huzzah!" for Kortok!
Madigan says, "Ok, next question."
Madigan asks, "Where did Emilee establish a guildhall?"
Sebestyen says, "Have one."
Madigan says, "Hib is the correct answer."
Madigan says, "Although, if I could pronounce it correctly I would say the full name."
Madigan grins.
Madigan asks, "Who won that one?"
Sebestyen says, "Hibnawhatever."
Xalahai says, "Hibarnhvidar, sir."
Adongonif says, "Farfromhere."
Jerid says, "Thats how I say it."
Casserah says, "Isn't it Dwarven? Try drinking first."
Sebestyen offers Aaiyaah a golden yellow tabard emblazoned with Chadatru's noble lion.
Aaiyaah pulls his yellow tabard over his head, settling the fabric panels evenly over his chest and back.
Madigan says, "Ok, now to the meat of why we are here."
Madigan says, "I am sure everyone here has heard the rumor of the allegation of treason against Oane."
Zhyan says, "No."
Madigan says, "That is the main purpose of our meeting."
Madigan says, "Penderrin will give us some background on Oane, the allegation and some facts as to her discovery after the allegation."
Madigan gestures at Penderrin.
Penderrin stands up.
Penderrin gazes off to the west.
Penderrin kneels down and begins to pray.
Penderrin stands up.
Penderrin says, "Greetings."
Penderrin says, "I'm goin from memory and random notes, so it'll be somewhat fluid."
Penderrin says, "First, besides what the scrolls entail, which were penned by kattena."
Penderrin motions to you.
Penderrin says, "I'll recount quickly."
Penderrin says, "A messenger from the Council approached us in the guildhall, her,e roughly 2 weeks ago."
Penderrin says, "With orders to apprehend Oane and bring him to Sir Darius or Sit Cleworth for treason."
Penderrin says, "The nature of the treason was never revealed."
Penderrin says, "With the assistance of a moon mage, Khras, We hopped a moon gate to Hib."
Penderrin says, "Upon arrival, we spoke with Sir Darius."
Penderrin says, "He informed us of a secret passage beneath the Hib guildhall."
Penderrin says, "Yes, the resting place of Emille the Fist."
Penderrin says, "Also contains a chest for exchanging your Holy Weapon for another."
Penderrin says, "Same place."
Penderrin says, "We did Find Oane."
Penderrin says, "He led us to the chamber."
Penderrin says, "And his Tale began."
Penderrin says, "From his lecture series, he has always been intrigued by Emille."
Penderrin says, "Random items in her burial chamber lend credence to this."
Penderrin says, "An Altar."
Penderrin says, "A unique Icon also."
Penderrin says, "Same icon that some of you may have seen/heard about."
Penderrin says, "For using the Glyph of Renewal on the fly."
Penderrin nods.
Penderrin says, "Oane began his tale with a slight recounting of Syal."
Penderrin says, "His days, his feats."
Penderrin says, "Touched some on the Bonding as well."
Penderrin says, "Still, that is conjecture. No one knows what happened."
Penderrin says, "He mentioned he was lookign for something in the chamber."
Penderrin says, "As during his first visit during its excavation, Asilias, yes, the council member, was present also."
Penderrin says, "Shortly after entering the chamber, Darius was re-assigned to Hib, the coffin containing her body enclosed in glass and Oane taken off assignment."
Penderrin says, "The guards in her tomb were already present. I've gone back since to check things out for myself, nothing's changed since our visit."
Penderrin says, "Aside from Oane's absence."
Penderrin chuckles.
Penderrin says, "He also mentioned secrets, things hidden from us by the council."
Penderrin says, "Specifics? No."
Penderrin says, "But, he informed us of a source: Dreldan's Journal."
Penderrin says, "And the keeper of it is Beren."
Penderrin nods.
Uthgaar says, "We need to find this Beren is what yeh sayin."
Penderrin says, "After some private discussion, we returned to Sir Darius' chambers."
Glemm asks, "'This Beren'?"
Penderrin nods.
Rivalin gazes at Penderrin.
Penderrin says, "The same."
Glemm shakes his head.
Penderrin says, "And informed him we could not carry out the council's order."
Janneth frowns at Penderrin.
Penderrin says, "Oane has since disappeared."
Penderrin says, "Or, gone into hiding."
Penderrin says, "Sir Darius informed us of where beren may be found."
Penderrin says, "And that we were walking a VERY fine line on treason ourselves."
Penderrin says, "But, he did let us leave."
Penderrin says, "With assistance from Khras again, we went to Corik's Wall."
Penderrin says, "Commander Fenhalut of the Emerald Knights greeted us, and consented that indeed Beren resided behind the wall."
Penderrin says, "He had agreed to send word via his rangers to locate Beren for us. We have not heard much since."
Penderrin says, "Couple points i'd like to touch on."
Penderrin says, "Oane did seem.................troubled."
Penderrin says, "Fits of laughter and whatnot."
Penderrin says, "Csilla of the former council had these same symptoms while being tormented by soem visions."
Penderrin says, "The same visions Syal had."
Penderrin says, "And, Commander Fenhalut."
Penderrin says, "The vision was of a paladin holding back shadowy figures, screaming for help. And no answer."
Penderrin says, "The shadowy figures..............were Paladins."
Heplythea blinks.
Kortok shudders.
Penderrin nods.
Rivalin asks, "Who's vision was this?"
Sebestyen says, "Troubling..."
Penderrin says, "Commander Fenhalut of the Emerald Knights."
Satchiko nods at Sebestyen, obviously agreeing with his views.
Penderrin says, "As of late, we all have felt the unease around us."
Penderrin says, "The "unseen threat."
Vendskar nods in agreement.
Penderrin says, "And heard the howling of the Hound."
Adongonif asks, "Question. Has anyone gone to Cleworth with this information?"
Madigan quietly says, "Friends, let's let the good sir finish...then we will open up for factual questions. Then move to open forum."
Penderrin says, "We do not know who or what the hound is."
Penderrin says, "But, it's been at the wall before we got there."
Penderrin says, "Before we even heard it the first time."
Penderrin says, "It also followed us there."
Penderrin says, "We verified it with our eyes."
Penderrin motions to you.
Penderrin motions to Glemm.
You cover your eyes.
Penderrin chuckles at you!
Glemm shifts his weight.
Penderrin says, "As to what the journal contains, there's no certainty."
Penderrin says, "The one held by beren, per se."
Penderrin says, "I will nto delve into that, i've conspiracy theories upt he wazoo."
Janneth frowns.
Penderrin says, "But, as a Paladin and a champion of the Immortals, i see fit to see this through............no matter the cost."
Janneth blinks at Penderrin.
Penderrin says, "If i forgot anything, please see me later."
Penderrin bows to Madigan.
Madigan adjusts his half plate.
You praise Penderrin.
Janneth glares at Penderrin.
Madigan says, "Thank you Penderrin. Let's open it up for questions for Penderrin right now. Let's keep them factual questions about what he has reported. There will Open Forum next for opinions on the matter."
Madigan gestures at Uthgaar.
You glance at Janneth, a female Human.
Madigan says, "Uthgaar is first with a question."
Penderrin nods to Uthgaar.
Uthgaar says, "I've a couple actually."
Uthgaar makes a grunting noise.
Uthgaar asks, "First, why did you not bring Oane to Darius?"
Janneth praises Uthgaar.
Uthgaar says, "Not that I think the order was right, but you should have done yer duty."
Janneth nods at Uthgaar, obviously agreeing with his views.
Penderrin says, "I didn;t agree with the Order. A scholar and Guild archivist suddenly stripped of duty reminded me too much of Beren's Dismissal."
Uthgaar asks, "Would Oane not return with you?"
Uthgaar peers quizzically at Penderrin.
Penderrin says, "He did not. it was offered, and he left of his own accord."
Uthgaar ponders.
Glemm says, "Can we keep this to actual questions and not self-righteous grandstandin."
Uthgaar says, "Not grandstanding."
Uthgaar grins at Glemm.
Uthgaar says, "Just a question."
You say, "We believed that turning Oane in would leave too many unanswered questions that could affect us all."
Glemm says, "Plus Oane ran off before we could decide what to do."
Uthgaar ponders.
Penderrin nods.
You nod to Glemm.
Teilnsar ponders too bad halt and drag is no longer an option
Madigan says, "Friends, there will be plenty of time to give opinions. Let's just get some questions out for facts right now."
Glemm says, "So, yeah, he kinda madetha decesion for us."
Madigan asks, "Uthgaar, other questions?"
Glemm says, "Not that we didn't agree with it after we all spoke."
Uthgaar says, "I'm good for now."
Uthgaar makes a grunting noise.
Madigan gestures at Adongonif.
Adongonif asks, "Yes, has Sir Cleworth since been informed of these goings on? If so did he shed any light on the situation?"
Penderrin says, "He did not, and has not, to my knowledge. I have not been to therengia since the event."
Glemm says, "Not thatah know of."
Madigan quietly says, "Please whisper to me if you have questions, and I'll put you on the list."
Glemm nods to Penderrin.
Adongonif says, "That was my question."
Adongonif nods.
Madigan gestures at Baelor.
Madigan says, "Baelor."
Penderrin says, "If Darius was informed, it stood to reason the council would hear of it."
Baelor asks, "Do you believe that maybe Oane is not of sound mind?"
Penderrin says, "A possibility, aye. With the droolin and what not."
Glemm nods.
Glemm says, "He seemed a bit outta it."
Glemm says, "Betweentha cacklin and droolin."
Penderrin says, "My gut didn't tell me so."
Penderrin says, "He was very concise."
Penderrin says, "Not so much "rambling" as i just did."
Baelor asks, "Yes or no?"
Penderrin says, "No, i believe him of sound mind."
Glemm shakes his head at Penderrin.
Penderrin says, "If not tormented and troubled."
Madigan asks, "Glemm or Katt, you were there...what is your opinion on that question?"
Glemm nods to you.
Glemm says, "Whatchu think."
You say, "I actually think he's a bit of a stretch from sound of mind. But I think he was clearly afraid for his well being."
Iskhhr quietly says to Penderrin, "Even if otherwise, in madness, there is often wisdom."
Glemm says, "He knew his facts, that was fer sure."
Madigan nods.
Glemm says, "But mebbe from what he saw, kinda put him in a different place thantha rest of us."
You say, "It seemed to me that it was fear that affected him more than anything."
Penderrin nods at you, obviously agreeing with your views.
Madigan asks, "Ok, other questions Baelor?"
Baelor shakes his head.
Baelor says, "That is all."
Madigan says, "Gwen."
Gwenddolyn asks, "Does anyone know what happened to the artifacts that Kraphae stole? Someone must have found them if they proved Kraphae stole them. Could these be what is being hidden from us?"
Penderrin says, "No trace of the stolen artifacts."
Gwenddolyn says, "And if Oane did take an artifact or find one, it is possible that they possessed him. Many artifacts are protected by such spells."
You say, "Honestly, we don't have those answers."
Penderrin says, "To my knowledge, anything procured int he burial chamber was handed over to the Council."
Gwenddolyn asks, "This Beren, what do we know of him at all? Where could he be?"
Glemm shakes his head.
Penderrin says, "Behind Corik's Wall, in the care of the Emerald Knights."
Glemm says, "Beren was leader of this here guild before Darius came in."
Gwenddolyn says, "And this last part needs to be said."
Gwenddolyn asks, "I want to clarify something. You did not turn Oane in as you were ordered by your Guild's Council, and instead you sat and listened to him, and Oane was having fits of laugher as if possessed?"
Granyt says to Gwenddolyn, "He was the guild leader who wast here before Sir Darius and inducted some of us into this guild."
Gwenddolyn asks, "You left and did not turn him in? Then you heard a hound of justice howling afterwards? You feel you are qualified to make decisions based on behalf of the Paladin Council?"
Glemm says, "Yes."
Glemm nods to Gwenddolyn.
You smile at Gwenddolyn.
You say, "Correct."
Sebestyen appears to be trying hard not to grin.
Penderrin says, "I make decisions based on what i feel. I am a Paladin, not a toy soldier who obeys orders blindly."
Gwenddolyn says, "Many of us will disagree, the council could have sorted it out."
Janneth blinks.
Madigan asks, "Other questions Gwenddolyn?"
Gwenddolyn shakes her head.
Madigan nods.
Madigan gestures at Alaxndr.
You say, "If you listen to what Penderrin said, Oane's ramblings were corroborated by the Commander at the wall."
Penderrin nods to you.
Janneth says, "What does that matter."
Alaxndr asks, "I have a two part question. First, has Beren been south of the wall since his tenure here? Second, why did the Emerald Knights not take you directly to him?"
Penderrin says, "And we have no idea about the hound."
You say, "Beren is in hiding there. The Commander said it could take weeks for the rangers to find him."
Iskhhr says to Gwenddolyn, "Sorted it out? Or perhaps buried it."
Penderrin says, "Alaxndr, the Dark hand is a very obscured place. Fog everywhere, creatures of the drgaon priests left and right. If someone chooses to get lost behind there, it would not be hard to stay hidden."
Penderrin says, "Also."
Sebestyen nods in agreement.
Penderrin says, "We were not the first looking for him."
Alaxndr nods.
Alaxndr says, "Also, if I may note, the Code says A Paladin is Loyal: He does not betray his God, his liege-lord, his guild, his family or his friends."
Gwenddolyn says, "I agree the DP may be involved."
Kortok asks, "Not to mention, you want a ranger to lead you?"
Kortok ducks his head.
Penderrin says, "That is true, i broke the Code."
Madigan asks, "Other questions Alaxndr?"
Sebestyen shakes his head at Penderrin.
Penderrin says, "And i take resonsibility for it."
Penderrin says, "But."
Alaxndr says, "That may not be true, friend. If the Immortals were speaking to you, you were keeping to the code."
Sebestyen says, "No.."
Glemm says, "Penderrin takes respondibility for all of it."
Casserah says, "Unless you believe the Code to have been evil."
Casserah glances at Penderrin.
Penderrin says, "We stand for Truth above all."
Janneth rolls her eyes.
Sebestyen nods at Alaxndr, obviously agreeing with his views.
Alaxndr says, "I have no further questions."
Penderrin says, "I will NOT allow truth to be buried."
Janneth says, "Let chaos reign."
Sebestyen says, "And Honesty.."
Fenyr asks, "A Paladin is Honest. Should we not seek the truth, the absolute truth?"
(Madigan holds up his hand.)
Jerid says, "I dont think we are here to burn our guild brothers at the stake, we are all trying to understand, not the time to fling accusations."
Madigan gestures at Sebestyen.
Madigan says, "Sebestyen is next."
Madigan says, "Remember, questions on the facts please."
Madigan says, "There will be time to give your opinion."
Zombius says, "Oh, this is quite amusing. Truth above all? Yes, quite amusing."
Sebestyen asks, "This Journal.. I know Oane was not specific.. any hints as to what it contains and it's importance?"
Sebestyen glances at Zombious.
Alaxndr raises an eyebrow.
Iskhhr glances at Zombious.
Glemm asks, "Penderrin?"
Glemm asks, "The journal?"
Penderrin says, "Aye."
Penderrin says, "Was thrown a bit off."
Glemm nods.
Madigan asks, "Repeat that question Seb?"
Madigan smiles at Sebestyen.
Sebestyen asks, "This Journal.. I know Oane was not specific.. any hints as to what it contains and it's importance?"
Penderrin says, "2 possibilities."
Penderrin says, "1. The original Code, not the one Kraphae brought back and pawned off as his own."
Penderrin says, "Syal's own words."
Zombius says, "There is no journal. The fancies of a madman, if you ask me."
Glemm stands up.
>Silus places his hand over Zombious's mouth.
You glance at Zombious, a male Dwarf.
Glemm just went through some brass-bound ironwood doors, dragging Zombious with him.
Sir Glemm came through some brass-bound ironwood doors.
Penderrin grins.
Glemm sits down on the silverwood bench.
Penderrin says, "Second."
You praise Glemm.
Iskhhr nods at Glemm, obviously agreeing with his views.
Khayree grins at Glemm.
Penderrin says, "Is the possibility that worship of other gods, not just Chadatru or Rutilor, would be possible."
Penderrin says, "If you've somethin to say friend, speak up."
Sebestyen says, "No follow-up."
Madigan says, "Iyowen."
Penderrin glances at Zombious.
You shake your head at Penderrin.
Iyowen asks, "W-why would the P-paladin Council hide..." Iyowen accidently drops her helmet, cringing at the sound, she quickly picks it up with a slight blush. "S-sorry. Why would they hide anything?"
Penderrin says, "One thing Oane said rings with that."
Iyowen quietly says, "It seems, d-deceitful."
Uthgaar nods in agreement.
Penderrin says, "We are champions of the IMMORTALS. Not the people, not the Baron."
Penderrin says, "Such proof would loosen their hold on the barony."
Iyowen glances at Penderrin.
Penderrin says, "Or."
Gwenddolyn stands up.
Janneth blinks.
Penderrin says, "Details abotu medern/emille's death are in there."
Penderrin says, "It's any possibility at this point."
Janneth stands near Gwenddolyn.
Iskhhr says to Iyowen, "All things living deceive."
Glemm points at Gwenddolyn.
Glemm points out.
Madigan says, "Ok, we only have a few more questions."
Gwenddolyn raises an eyebrow in Glemm's direction.
Madigan says, "Rivalin."
Rivalin says, "I have two questions..."
Penderrin nods.
Rivalin asks, "One....What indications did you have specifically that Oane was afraid?"
Glemm says, "He said as much."
Rivalin asks, "Can you elaborate?"
Rivalin asks, "Afraid of what?"
Teilnsar ponders the puddle between his feet
Glemm grins.
You say, "He claimed that Beren's removal was directly related to this same knowledge."
Penderrin nods.
Rivalin nods.
Uthgaar says, "That was my question, you can skip me next."
Alaxndr furrows his brow.
You say, "And that his own charges were also only to quiet him."
Iskhhr quietly says to Iyowen, "Laudable, but false. Kraphae deceived. Many others likely have as well. Symptom of mortality."
Glemm says, "Now, Oane is gettin hit witha treason charge fer knowin this same thing, that this guild ain't what we thought it was."
Rivalin asks, "And two....you indicated that your group was not the only ones looking for Beren....who else was looking for him?"
Penderrin nods at Glemm, obviously agreeing with his views.
Rivalin asks, "And two....you indicated that your group was not the only ones looking for Beren....who else was looking for him?"
Penderrin says, "That isn't known. If you follow the thread of fear....................the council."
Janneth shakes her head.
Uthgaar scoffs.
Rivalin asks, "So how do you know someone else was looking for him?"
Uthgaar shakes his head.
You say, "The Commander was approached by others aside from us."
Rivalin asks, "And you don't know who that was?"
Penderrin says, "Don't think Commander Fenhalut would mistake patrons Oane with the council. He is also a paladin himself, with his own sixth sense."
Rivalin gazes at Penderrin.
You say, "He only knew that they meant him harm in some way. He was pretty clear about that."
Penderrin nods.
Janneth asks, "Was there least a description of the others, if the Commander didn't get their names?"
Rivalin says to Madigan, "That's all I have."
Rivalin nods to Janneth.
You shake your head at Janneth.
Janneth rolls her eyes.
>Rivalin ponders.
Penderrin says, "None."
Madigan says, "Ok. I am going to cut off questions at this point and move to Open Forum."
Glemm says, "They were wearing plaid pants."
You roll your eyes.
Glemm says, "That's all we know."
Adongonif raises his hand.
Penderrin grins at Glemm.
You grin at Glemm.
Glemm shakes his head.
Baelor asks, "Are you sure you were speaking with the one of the commanders of the Emerald knights?"
You nod to Baelor.
Penderrin says, "Positive."
Sebestyen says, "There could hardly have been a mistake."
Penderrin taps a brass badge etched with a laurel and lion's claw crest that he is wearing.
Uthgaar grunts at Janneth.
Madigan says, "Sorry Baelor, forgot about you there."
Madigan smiles at Baelor.
Baelor asks, "May I ask how you knew?"
You say, "The same that allowed me to take my quest there."
Adongonif asks, "Have any of the Emerald knights permitted to pass the wall since tried to find Sir Beren?"
You say, "I'm sure of who he was."
Penderrin says, "We can cross, sure."
Penderrin says, "Finding Beren is another matter."
You say, "We are Emerald Knights."
Glemm says, "We aren't findin Beren."
Glemm says, "Beren is findin us."
Madigan says, "Ok, let's move to Open Forum so we can have enough time for thoughts on these facts."
Penderrin nods at Glemm, obviously agreeing with his views.
Janneth praises Uthgaar.
Rivalin asks, "Is anyone currently stationed behind the wall as a contact?"
Madigan says, "If you want on the list, just whisper. I will only moderate if you get crazy or start taking up too much time."
Janneth says, "Sounds like much opinion versus fact."
Penderrin says, "None that we know of."
Sebestyen says, "I have spent some time there of late.. no sign."
You say to Janneth, "Yes, yes it does."
Madigan says, "ALrighty, the list is forming."
Glemm asks, "Canah say sumthin real quick?"
Glemm asks, "Before this gets out of hand?"
Penderrin nods.
You nod to Glemm.
Glemm stands up.
Madigan says, "Fire Glemm."
Glemm says, "None of us know what's goin on."
Glemm says, "Period."
You nod to Glemm.
Glemm says, "None of us that were there, none of us here."
Gebo giggles oddly.
Glemm says, "All we got isa bunch of ramblin people who think they know things they dunt."
You feel a strange sense of unease, as if someone or something were watching you with hostile intent.
*Most of this is stuff I would normally edit out, but the overall reaction to the Paladin sense kicking in made me laugh, so it stays.*
Glemm says, "This is bigger than any of us."
Penderrin says, "Whoa."
Jerid ponders.
Silus ponders.
Iskhhr says, "...This place, not safe."
>Gwenddolyn says, "Which is why we have chosen to leave at this time, and thank you for the info, but we serve the Baron and refuse to partake in discussions that appear to be against our guild or against our Baron and our Guildleader Cleworth."
You say, "Lovely."
Janneth grumbles.
Murrachan frowns.
Rumael blinks.
Penderrin draws forth a triple-fullered steel broadsword with a cambrinth-inlaid hilt.
Satchiko stands up.
Casserah fidgets nervously.
Aaiyaah puts a great helm on his head.
Glemm frowns.
Iyowen gulps.
Rivalin says, "Whoa."
Zombious ponders.
Janneth gets a bone-hilted broadsword from inside her weapon harness.
You say, "It starts."
Adongonif asks, "Whats goin on?"
Glemm moves into a position to dodge.
Sebestyen leaps to his feet!
Silus gets a bastard sword from inside his armor pack.
Satchiko puts her Justice in her spidersilk haversack.
Fenyr drops a glass of amber ale.
Jerid searches around for a moment.
Iskhhr draws forth a bastard sword.
Silus moves into a position to dodge.
Rivalin gets a gilded steel armet helm ridged with wavy spikes running front to back from inside his journey pack.
Fenyr drops a mug of Chadatru's Justice.
Fenyr slings an emblazoned tower shield off from over his shoulder.
Adongonif attaches a cambrinth armband carved into the shape of interlocked leaping dolphins to his upper arm.
Sebestyen searches around for a moment.
Aaiyaah moves into position to block attacks against Penderrin!
Fenyr gets a brass-hilted broadsword engraved with flames along the hand guard from inside his armor pack.
Rivalin puts a gilded steel armet helm ridged with wavy spikes running front to back on his head.
Mordea ponders.
Aaiyaah moves over to guard Penderrin.
Alaxndr leaps to his feet!
Zhyan casually observes the area.
Glemm says, "Settle down, guys."
Penderrin moves a mug of Chadatru's Justice to his left hand.
Penderrin moves a triple-fullered steel broadsword with a cambrinth-inlaid hilt to his right hand.
(Iyowen begins hyperventilating.)
Rumael chuckles to himself.
Iskhhr glances at Iyowen.
Baelor says, "Hmmm."
Uthgaar gets a bastard sword from inside his greatsword sheath.
Glemm says, "Nobdoy will take on a whole room of paladins."
Sebestyen mutters to himself.
Iyowen gets an ordinary shield from inside her rich sable haversack.
Jerid casually observes the area.
Murrachan rubs Iyowen gently.
Senior Commander Gwenddolyn's group went through some brass-bound ironwood doors.
Glemm says, "Anaway."
Xalahai casually observes the area.
Iyowen drops an ordinary shield.
Erieck raises an eyebrow.
Penderrin chuckles at Glemm.
Iskhhr glances at an ordinary shield.
Glemm says, "There's much more to this than what we currently know."
Iyowen's skin turns a pasty shade.
Iskhhr glances at Iyowen.
Baelor stands up.
Iyowen picks up an ordinary shield.
Xomdir draws forth a black Urrem'tier mace.
You say, "Please, relax. Let Glemm speak."
Iyowen slides her left arm through the straps on her ordinary shield and flexes.
Iyowen blushes a bright red color.
Madigan quietly says, "Sit tight."
Gannslide takes a bite of the steak.
Erieck chuckles to himself.
Iskhhr paces back and forth.
Rumael says, "Burning down the room is a different thing."
Iyowen inhales a great swallow of air.
Glemm says, "We know Beren is alive, we know he's behindtha wall. We dunt know if he knows we are lookin fer him yet."
Iyowen slowly empties her lungs.
Rumael chuckles to himself.
Penderrin mutters something into the air about Rabbit holes.
Glemm says, "We were told that he would contact us."
Iyowen puts a polished great helm with gold marbling and animite insets on her head.
Glemm says, "Not the other way around."
Penderrin says, "Aye."
Glemm says, "He's onla part of this mystery."
Loqutis says, "Never saw saw so much armor armor move so fast before."
Penderrin nods to Glemm.
Uthgaar moves a bastard sword to his right hand.
Sebestyen grins at Loqutis.
Xomdir rubs a black Urrem'tier mace.
Adongonif gets a bastard sword from inside his traveler's pack.
Fenyr says, "Rumael is right. We won't be attacked, we may be set on fire. Everyone, arm yourselves with ale to combat the flames."
Fenyr puts his broadsword in his armor pack.
Fenyr picks up a glass of amber ale.
Rivalin grins at Loqutis.
Sebestyen taps a glass of water that he is holding.
Glemm says, "So before we start drawin up conclusions about who's on what side and what's good fer us, just sit back and let all this unfold naturally."
Xomdir says to Fenyr, "I don't think that would work how you imagine."
Glemm says, "That's about it."
Sebestyen winks.
Glemm says, "Thanks."
Rumael chuckles.
Penderrin grins at Fenyr.
Glemm sits down on the silverwood bench.
You praise Glemm.
Murrachan gets an odd expression on his face.
Madigan says, "Granyt would like to add a bit about some information concerning the Journal."
Madigan says, "Jerid is next."
Penderrin nods.
Iskhhr moves over to guard Iyowen.
Iskhhr says to Iyowen, "Remain calm."
Iskhhr nods to Iyowen.
Iyowen nods emphatically.
Iyowen quietly says to herself, "Remain calm, hold your shield up."
Granyt says, "It hast been a while since I joined the guild, But I koined under Sir Beren."
Iyowen gets a spear with a polished ebony shaft and a blade engraved with the a lion's head from inside her leather tube.
Iyowen clenches her light spear tightly until her knuckles go white.
Kolaisa says, "Who the hell just marked me."
Kolaisa scowls.
Kolaisa traces a complicated pattern in the air with his fingertip. As he completes the gesture, five small globes of light extrude from the tips of his fingers and glow brightly as they position themselves around his body.
Penderrin says, "We've all been feelin that lately."
Granyt says, "The guild leader hast his desk in there and I recall seeing papers, maps, and a journal, that I couldst not read whilest he wast the guild leader."
Kolaisa searches around for a moment.
Iskhhr says to Kolaisa, "Not thieves....Something else."
Adongonif asks, "We all felt the hostile. but who could come in here?"
Zombious staggers slightly, looking like he might faint.
Silus puts his sword in his armor pack.
Penderrin says, "Sixth sense is triggered by threats, not just thieves."
Rivalin gazes at Zombious.
Naienna glances at Zombious.
Granyt says, "When Sir Darius Took over Sir Beren took all his stuff with him and it wast replaced with Sir Darius's papers."
Alaxndr says, "Civility please, bretheren."
Adongonif traces a complicated pattern in the air with his fingertip. As he completes the gesture, five small globes of light extrude from the tips of his fingers and glow brightly as they position themselves around his body.
Rumael hums cheerfully to himself.
Granyt says, "Now I dost not know if it means anything or not, But when LAdy Verika took over Soir Darius's papers remained on the desk."
Penderrin ponders.
Madigan asks, "Thanks Granyt. Anything else sir?"
Granyt says, "I am not stating positive that it wast this journal that wast on his desk, but I dost find it funny he took everything from his desk, yet Sir Darius didst not."
Penderrin asks, "Temporary assignment turned long term mayhaps?"
Madigan grins.
Adongonif asks, "Perhaps some of the papers weren't his personal possessions but belonged to the guildhall?"
Granyt says, "And I dost recall that at the time he wast officially removed for "Allowing paladins to learn the skill of stealing" yet Sir Cleworth and Lady Snow who wert also guild leaders doing the same at the same time wert left in their possitions."
Penderrin says, "I have tried speakign with other guild leaders about Sir Beren, and have yet to receive a response."
Madigan says, "Thanks Granyt."
Granyt says, "That tis all I wished to bring up."
Madigan says, "Jerid is up next."
Madigan says, "Zhyan is next."
Jerid says, "A few small things."
Jerid says, "First, I want to say I agree with Glemm, lets not jump to colcultions on things we really do not know."
Jerid says, "Having half the picture and basing our actions on that alone can be dangerous."
Jerid says, "We need to find out more, and understand more, that is why we are having this meeting."
You say, "Which is exactly why we ultimately agreed that turning in Oane would be counter-productive."
Gebo says, "Oh, come on. Diving in headfirst is what being a paladin is all about. Leave information-gathering to the bards and mages."
You nod to Jerid.
Jerid says, "Second... I think it would be a good idea if some of us older Paladins who were around in Berens days got together."
Jerid says, "Maybe we could sort some history out."
Jerid says, "My memory is pretty fuzzy due to old age, but i would be happy to sit down with others from that day and see what we can peice together."
Jerid says, "Lastly..."
Jerid says, "Thank you to everyone who put together and contributed to this meeting, I think its been helpful to everyone."
Matalynd nods at Jerid, obviously agreeing with his views.
Zhyan says, "Hmm."
Jerid says, "And I suggest that any future major turn of events on this, we have another meeeting."
Jerid says, "Lets stick together and sort this out as a guild."
Jerid says, "Thats all."
Zhyan asks, "I think I'm supposed to be next, right?"
Penderrin nods to Zhyan.
Zhyan says, "Hey everyone."
You nod to Zhyan.
Zhyan says, "Let me just start by saying its an honor to be around so many old people."
Zhyan nods.
You laugh!
Xomdir ponders.
Casserah snickers.
Xomdir snickers.
Adongonif chuckles.
Kortok laughs at Zhyan.
Vendskar makes a laughing grunting noise.
Penderrin snickers at Glemm.
Zhyan says, "I realize I don't have as much time in the trenches as you all."
Naienna appears to be trying hard not to grin.
Granyt asks Zhyan, "Who art ye calling old?"
Zhyan says, "And I don't want to be the fly in the ointment."
Sebestyen appears to be trying hard not to grin.
Granyt says, "I hast not completed my first century yet."
Zhyan says, "But I'm just confused about how this was supposed help clear things up."
Erieck says, "Me either...yet."
Zhyan says, "Because I didn't know anything before I got here."
Zhyan says, "And now I feel like I know even less."
Glemm says, "Ah dunt think it's about clearin things up as much as gettin evraone ontha same page, Zhyan."
Casserah says, "Oh, look, you're getting wiser."
Casserah praises Zhyan.
Madigan says, "The purpose of the meeting was to get information to paladins about what is going on. Nothing more."
Uthgaar says, "And when you are given an order by your guildleader, just do what comes natural."
Zhyan says, "But like Sir Glemm said, nobody really knows whats' going on..."
You say, "I don't think anyone intended to be able to clear it all up. We don't have the answers. But what we do know needed to be shared with everyone."
Glemm nods to you.
Madigan nods.
Rivalin nods to you.
Zhyan says, "Ok, I'll just stop talking then before I get in trouble."
Zhyan takes a seat.
Madigan says, "Once you are informed of the facts that are out there, then you can form your own opinion and actions."
Khayree says, "You're fine Zhyan."
Khayree smiles at Zhyan.
Gebo stirs a bit.
Gebo slumps to the floor unconscious.
Madigan says, "And, you are just fine Zhyan."
Silus ponders.
Iskhhr glances at Gebo.
Rivalin blinks.
Casserah glances at Gebo.
Penderrin peers quizzically at Gebo.
Xomdir blinks at Gebo.
Fenyr gazes at Gebo.
Silus pokes Gebo in the ribs.
Rivalin glances at Gebo.
Xomdir searches around for a moment.
Divy blinks.
Jerid blinks at Gebo.
Alaxndr raises an eyebrow.
Sebestyen searches around for a moment.
Naienna glances at Gebo.
You see Gebo, a Halfling Paladin.
Gebo has crystal blue eyes. His golden brown hair is shoulder length and thick, and is worn braided. He has tanned skin.
He is young for a Halfling.
He has a scruffy growth of stubble on his face.
He has faint scuffing to the right arm, tiny scratches to the left arm, faint scuffing to the right leg, faint scuffing to the left leg, faint scuffing to the right hand, tiny scratches to the left hand, tiny scratches to the chest, tiny scratches to the abdomen, faint scuffing to the back.
He is in good shape.
He is holding a mug of Chadatru's Justice in his right hand.
He is wearing a pair of rough leather boots clasped around the ankles with reed-thin bones, a lizardskin weapons belt with etched silver plates depicting ritual battle, a dark steel belt knife, some field plate armor, some gauntlets, some steel-toed footwraps with silver buckles, some jagged rock crystal knuckleguards, some rough suede knee wraps affixed with sharpened peccary tusks, some black leather elbow wraps affixed with dagger blades, an oilcloth rucksack, an indigo gem pouch, a magnificent purple heart and osage Elothean battle bow fitted with an onyx arrow plate, a rough-spun brocade greatcloak with knotted fringe along the hem, a tower shield painted with the words, "Death before dishonor!" and a halberd.
Zhyan grabs Gebo by the shoulders and shakes him!
Adongonif says, "He looks ill."
Iskhhr says, "I...mislike this."
Sebestyen mutters to himself.
Iskhhr's tail undulates in an agitated fashion.
Jerid moves over to guard Gebo.
Gebo stands up.
Xomdir draws forth a black Urrem'tier mace.
Fenyr says, "See what happens when you let an Olvi wear plate..."
Zhyan peers quizzically at Gebo.
Gebo sits down on the silverwood bench.
Erieck chuckles to himself.
Jerid peers quizzically at Gebo.
Glemm furrows his brow.
Penderrin asks, "A visitor mayhaps?"
Murrachan cackles!
Rivalin chuckles at Fenyr.
Adongonif grins at Fenyr.
Gebo scratches his head.
Alaxndr asks Gebo, "Feeling well, friend?"
Jeniveve appears to be trying hard not to grin.
Jerid asks, "What happened to you sir?"
Alaxndr peers quizzically at Gebo.
Gebo says, "I dont' know."
Glemm says, "Gebo, mebbe you should go totha hospital."
Jerid blinks at Gebo.
Glemm says, "And not get us sick."
Jerid asks, "Did you feel anything before you fell over?"
Rivalin looks thoughtfully at Gebo.
Xomdir says to Gebo, "Maybe you should not be drinking."
Silus says, "Drink some water."
Iskhhr says to Gebo, "You spoke earlier. About leaping first before gathering information."
Iskhhr asks Gebo, "Do you recall such?"
Zombious says, "He's a spy, obviously."
Rivalin frowns.
Glemm slowly empties his lungs.
Alaxndr glares at Zombious.
You say to Gebo, "Maybe you should put the justice down."
Casserah says, "That's a harsh accusation."
Gebo shakes his head.
Penderrin says, "Yer talkin weird like he was..........."
Gebo says, "I'm trying to think..."
Alaxndr says, "I will have no such accusations of my squire."
Aaiyaah says, "This is hardly a time to turn on one another folks."
Madigan says, "Peace, let the Squire speak."
Rivalin nods to Aaiyaah.
Baelor says, "I think we have already turned on each other."
Baelor frowns.
Uthgaar moves a mug of Chadatru's Justice to his right hand.
Madigan says, "Iskhhr is next in open forum once we hear from Gebo."
Madigan asks, "Gebo, do you know why you just passed out?"
Gebo takes a sip of his water.
Gebo says, "No."
Madigan nods.
Gebo says, "I was sitting here."
Madigan says, "Iskhhr."
Gebo says, "And then I was on the ground."
Glemm says, "He's just tired, let's move on."
Iskhhr nods.
Zhyan exclaims, "Oh wait!"
Zhyan stands up.
Zhyan asks, "Does anyone need a squire?"
Iskhhr says, "If I may. I am not well known to most of you."
Zozuskar points at Silus.
Silus points at Zozuskar.
Alaxndr takes a seat near Gebo.
Iskhhr says, "Regardless. I too, echo Jerid and Glemm. Caution and knowledge, before action."
Iskhhr says, "We do not march armies to war without reconaissance. Such should this be as well."
Iskhhr says to Iyowen, "Many have accused me of being overly suspicious. I prefer...cautious."
Madigan nods to Iskhhr.
Iskhhr says, "But, I am digressing. I wished to present two more facts."
You say, "I didn't see Oane randomly passing out, no."
Adongonif asks, "But the odd giggling. perhaps some sort of disease?"
Iskhhr says, "Consider: Dreldan of the council was no model of virtue, at first. Before his calling, a mercenary he was."
Gebo says, "If you all wish I will go to the empath guild."
Iskhhr says, "Hardly one who might find place in the Order."
Glemm nods to Gebo.
Glemm says, "Probably the best call."
Jerid asks, "Would you like a guard?"
Iskhhr says, "Consider also: Oane once spoke of a curious inconsistency in records of Emille."
Alaxndr says, "I shall join him."
Penderrin nods.
Iskhhr says, "Emille was called The Fist. Yet several texts refer to 'Emille's Fist'."
Iskhhr says, "As it were an object, or a thing."
Glemm says, "Her weapon."
You say, "Like a weapon."
You nod.
Iskhhr says to Glemm, "This is possible."
Sebestyen says, "Or her own group of followers."
skhhr says to Sebestyen, "Another fact to consider."
You say, "Also possible."
Iskhhr says, "Were it a weapon, though, and were it buried with her..."
Penderrin says, "Given the altar in her chamber and her icon, she could have also had the first evidence of a Holy Weapon."
Glemm says, "Oane mentioned it should be there, which it isn't."
Penderrin nods at Glemm, obviously agreeing with his views.
Iskhhr nods at Glemm, obviously agreeing with his views.
Iskhhr says, "I mislike the idea of such an object unaccounted for."
Sebestyen asks, "Perhaps different than the ones we are given?"
Iskhhr says, "I merely wished to present this fact before my brethren."
Madigan says, "Thanks Iskhhr."
Penderrin says, "There is mention fo a most holy relic held by the Lorefist family."
Iskhhr says to Madigan, "My thanks, Madigan of Therengia."
Madigan says, "Last on my list, Rumael."
Rumael nods to Madigan.
Madigan quietly says, "If I have missed anyone, just whisper to me."
Archivist Alaxndr came through some brass-bound ironwood doors.
Casserah asks, "Is he all right?"
Iskhhr asks Alaxndr, "Is your squire healthy?"
Rumael says, "I am a bit concerned by what seems to be a lack of faith in our fellow paladins and an unwillingness to extand a little benefit of doubt, particularly to those paladins serving as guild leadrs. If there is any goup that should be able to go out on a limb for someone it is us."
Alaxndr says, "They are taking a good look at him. He seems... more himself though."
Rumael says, "We can sort this out."
Rumael says, "Witholding information isnt an evil act, parent do it every day."
Rivalin frowns.
Zozuskar says, "We are not exactly children, however."
Glemm says, "Well said, Zoz."
Rumael says, "No, but we arent as well informed as our leaders."
Silus nods.
Silus says, "Indeed."
Casserah says, "Perhaps we should be."
Glemm nods to Casserah.
Heplythea softly asks, "Who is to say how the council views us?"
Penderrin nods to Casserah.
Madigan asks, "Anything else Rumael?"
Adongonif says, "We should perhaps pray to the immortals for guidance."
Casserah says, "Regardless of how they view us, I for one don't count them as my parents."
Iskhhr says to Heplythea, "Always will authority deem itself capable of making judgment for the majority."
Rumael says, "My point is there seems to be an assumption of the worst as far as intent, mostly about the council but some seem to feel that way about Glemm and company."
Kolaisa says, "Our oath is to the Immortals, not a council of men."
Rumael says, "Have a little faith that you fellow paladins are making the best decisions they can with what information they have."
Penderrin nods at Kolaisa, obviously agreeing with his views.
Iskhhr nods at Kolaisa, obviously agreeing with his views.
Casserah asks, "Is the act of faith to be all on our part and none on theirs?"
Iskhhr says to Rumael, "It is always best to assume nothing to be as it seems."
Madigan calmly says, "Let the paladin finish please."
Casserah says, "My apologies."
Iskhhr says, "And mine."
Glemm says, "Quick note, ifah may."
Glemm says, "Sir Madigan."
Madigan says, "Sure, after Rumael wraps."
Rumael says, "Im done, other than trust each other to try and make the best decision."
Madigan nods to Rumael.
Madigan says, "Glemm, you can go then I am going to wrap up with a thought and dismiss. Everyone is welcome to stay and contineue the discussion."
Glemm says, "In regard to Rumael's comment- we could be bein played by Oane for all we know. He could be lyin about this entire thing. Beren could be dead. The Council could have our best interests in mind. All we know is that there's sumthin goin on that we may or may not be privvy to. Just keep yer eyes and ears open, and tryta sharetha info so that we are all ontha same page."
Glemm slowly empties his lungs.
You nod to Glemm.
A single white feather drifts lazily down from above, coming to rest gently on the ground.
Glemm says, "That's it. Thanks."
Jeniveve gazes upward.
Erieck picks up a bent white feather.
Iskhhr asks, "....A feather?"
Madigan says, "Ok, let me wrap us up here."
Zhyan gazes upward.
Erieck says, "Hrm..."
Glemm furrows his brow.
Iyowen gazes upward.
Murrachan raises an eyebrow.
Erieck taps a bent white feather that he is holding.
Iskhhr ponders.
Glemm says, "Gryphon invasion."
Iyowen squints.
Madigan says, "First, that feather just gave me the willies."
You grin at Madigan.
Jeniveve nods.
Rivalin grins at Madigan.
Satchiko nods at Madigan, obviously agreeing with his views.
Penderrin kneels down and begins to pray.
Madigan says, "Ok, I am honored so many of us gathered together today."
Adongonif asks, "Was it a mongoose feather?"
Erieck gazes at his feather.
Madigan says, "It has been too long and we should do this more often."
Alaxndr nods in agreement.
Baelor nods.
Rivalin nods at Madigan, obviously agreeing with his views.
Iyowen quietly asks Erieck, "What k-kind of feather?"
Erieck chuckles.
Madigan says, "I have had a few whispers on my opinion on this matter."
Erieck says, "I'm not sure what type of feather it is.."
Loqutis asks, "Since when does a mongoose have feathers?"
You smirk.
Casserah asks, "Magical mongoose?"
Penderrin begins chortling at Loqutis.
Glemm laughs!
Granyt says to Madigan, "The Mentors still hold their weekly socials alternating between here and Haven."
Rivalin nods to Loqutis.
Iyowen covers her mouth with her hand.
Adongonif shrugs.
Madigan says, "I only know this, that the Council has issued an order."
Madigan says, "Personally, I feel bound to follow that order as will my Squires."
Madigan says, "That does not preclude me trying to find answers to the obvious questions out there after this discussion."
Iskhhr says to Madigan, "I beg you yet belay action."
Jerid says, "I think it best to keep these meetings seperate from the mentor meetings, dont want the youngens who rely on the mentor meetings to get swamped by a bunch of us guys who need canes to get around."
Madigan says, "That is all I have. I consider the formal meeting dismissed. Please, let us stay and talk in a more informal matter."
Madigan smiles warmly.
Teilnsar says to Erieck, "Mayhap a feather of cowardice , warning that we shall have our courage tested , and not falter in the face of what is to come."
Sebestyen says, "May the Immortals Guide us."
Glemm dusts himself off.
Teilnsar says, "Chadatru bless ye , and judge thee true."
Glemm stands up.
You stand back up.
Xalahai smiles at Madigan.
Madigan says, "Meeting adjourned, although I will be staying here for a bit."
Glemm says, "Great, let's get outta this stuffy place."
Madigan grins at Glemm.
Penderrin begins chortling at Glemm.
Kortok leaps to his feet!
Sir Glemm went through some brass-bound ironwood doors.
Kolaisa says, "I take my leave and hope we fall on the same side of the blade."
Kolaisa nods.
Adongonif chuckles.
Madigan sits down on the silverwood bench.
Erieck says to Teilnsar, "Anyomore...life is a test of courage.."
Emerald Knight Kolaisa went through some brass-bound ironwood doors.
Matalynd says, "And I'm sure there will be questions asked at the Mentor socials, so I appreciate the chance to be brought up to speed, to better answer those questions."
Rumael cheerfully says, "Luck."

It has been pointed out to me that we are all oblivious idiots. Zombious deserves an apology. We clearly ALL missed that ZombiUS was acting out, not ZombiOUS. Interesting little tidbit.

Thanks to Madigan for hosting, Kattena for logging, Glemm and Penderrin (And Kattena again) for filling us all in on, and Alaxndr for doing an excellent job compressing a ton of background into a succinct and usable summary.
Also, the Zombious/Zombius thing a) Wasn't the person's fault (See: What happened to Gebo), and b) OOCly, was likely a result of whatever power that be accidentally typoing the messaging. I picked up on it because of my highlight strings, but tried to avoid metagaming ICly with this knowledge.
Still, great turnout, well executed.
Also thanks to Iyowen for baffling Iskhhr into being much more outgoing than his normal temperament. :)

On a side note, what Gebo said was not of his own doing. I whispered him shortly after and he neither remembers saying it nor me whispering him.
And I'm glad you guys liked what I put together. I found it slightly ironic that much of the material I used was from Oane himself.

Neat meeting, wish I could've been there. One thing, about the history, Oane's lecture, the first one, states Beren wasn't actually the founder of the Crossing guildhall. Dreldan was, though I know the Play.Net paladin description still says otherwise. If Oane's research is right, there should be quite a few leaders between Dreldan and Beren, since Dreldan was an old human when the Crossing hall was founded. Again, that is if Oane's right, and I haven't heard anything to say his earlier research was debunked as false.

You know, you're right. I went back and read through the lecture again and found it. Since Drelden was one of the original 7, that leaves about four centuries worth of guildleaders between Drelden and Beren. My apologies on that little bit of misinformation.

To be fair, it's not that Emille's body MIGHT nto be in the vault in Hib Guildhall so much as it's the face that Emille's body is NOT in the vault in Hib Guildhall. according to the torn parchment left in the room near Darius' current post, they moved her. Call me crazy but I believe the tapestries are clues to her current resting place.

A couple of newb Paladins have approached Cael IG about what went on at the meeting and I feel like making a field trip out of it because I have nothing better to do.

My character isn't among those who have approached her. However, these events include a lot of history, moral ambiguity and treachery. Considering what he knows of Caelumia first hand and through discussions with others, he has considered approaching her to pick her brain about it on a few occasions. It's only some differences of opinion that he can't quite bring himself to overcome that have kept him from it.
If you've got a big enough reputation, you don't have to insert yourself, you get dragged into everything. It's normal and natural.

I don't understand your post or where it's directed.
One of them was at the meeting. She was asking if the outbursts that occurred could have been the work of some kind of spooky moonie mind control mischief. Then they got to talking about soul state stuff and the Code, and what Oane possibly found.
Before anyone jumps on me for chasing or something, I really have zero interest or intent to try being involved in the event itself. The area in Hib just sounds interesting and I'd personally like to follow the goings-on from afar, and it occurred to me that I could probably shepherd some noob Paladins to Hib to check out the area and roletard a little while I'm doing so, so I figured I'd offer.
>> Field trips? Has there a date been set for something or are you guys just talking about the next event chasing?
Total spur of the moment thing spawned by curiosity about an area I've never seen.
Less event chasing (lol?), more sight seeing for myself and any nooblers I manage to grab tonight.

From my character's perspective (had he discussed it with her) I'd tend to view it akin to Clarice going to speak to Dr. Lecter. He's talked to some of the people with first-hand accounts, he's done his homework, looked at Corik's Wall, looked at the tomb and attended the meeting. But if you want to figure out how a devious mind works (whether it be Oane or Kraphae or any other possibly duplicitous figures, modern or historical), sometimes you find yourself wanting to consult a known devious mind.
I'd hardly consider myself an event chasing alt metagamer.

I don't think I inferred that, specifically at you.
I find it highly odd that nub paladins wearing 500pk worth of (altered) gear would be asking for help with the ease quest. It's equally jarring that another nub wearing CM gear and a shiny novice title would be able to recite certain stats for kertig weapons made 6+ RL years ago.
In the same vein, seeking out someone who we all know OOC has not been involved, based on previous involvement in events just doesn't add up to anything but event chasing alt's. It's annoying.

The girl who approached Cael seemed to do it in good faith and wasn't acting all-knowing or anything FWIW. There was plenty about the event that has been posted that Cael asked about that she didn't know. I enjoyed the interaction.
Incidentally if one of you would like to come along and play tourguide + explain what's going on that would be pretty cool.

Such as there actually being paladins in it?
There's a great group of paladins that hang out in there and are EXTREMELY helpful, much more than I would ever be.
You are doing them a disservice by trying to portray the Crossing Guild as anything but what it is- a gathering place for great people to help others.

I must have come across too strongly on that one, let me back up and apologize.
The Crossing guild does have great people that hang out there, no doubt about that. But as you and PRAXIS have both expressed yourselves, sometimes it can be painful the things you'll hear or see in there.
My own character is pretty proud to be affiliated with Therengia, however, and Therenborough isn't often lacking for respectable paladins to converse with. So that is where he's spent most of his time thus far.
That said, he's been around the Crossing guild a lot more than usual lately, since he's taken to hunting critters a little north of Crossing. He has done what he could to help out a few younger paladins he's encountered while pausing for a moment here and there in the guildhall.
