[Paladins' Guild, The Great Chamber]

Tapestries and flickering torches line the walls of the circular meeting room. Eight sets of silverwood benches, arranged in ascending rows, face a central speaker's podium. The topmost row, a full three Tog-lengths above the main floor, sits at eye level with a large chandelier that hangs from the ceiling. You also see a forged steel table with some stuff on it, some brass-bound ironwood doors and a winding ironwood staircase.

Madigan says, "Here is the Agenda."

Scaevola sighs softly as the pale yellow sparks surrounding his body fade away.

Madigan says, "Existing Paladin Code, Gebo, Squire to Alaxndr."

Madigan says, "History of the Council, Alaxndr."

Madigan says, "Two short prize questions."

Alaxndr nods politely.

Madigan says, "Oane Accusation, and some facts. Penderrin."

Madigan says, "Then, Open Forum."

Madigan says, "The Intro is short and sweet."

Madigan says, "Thanks for coming. I am honored to be around so many great paladins."

Uthgaar nods in agreement.

Madigan says, "I ask that we respect the floor for whomever is talking."

Madigan says, "If you are talking, I ask that you respect my slight moderation if I feel necessary to move things along."

Madigan says, "When we reach Open Forum, anyone can speak and should. I will keep a list, so just whisper to me if you wish to be heard."

Madigan says, "No paladin is above anyone here, so let us all conduct ourselves with honor."

Madigan smiles warmly.

Alaxndr nods in agreement.

Penderrin nods.

Madigan says, "With that, Gebo, Squire to Alaxndr."

Madigan gestures at Gebo.

Gebo stands up.

Gebo adjusts his gauntlets into place.

Gebo coughs.

Penderrin pats Gebo on the back.

Gebo takes a quick quarter turn followed by a flourishing bow, his greatcloak billowing out behind him in a display of brocade material.

Gebo calmly says, "A Paladin supports and defends Good and opposes Evil."

Gebo confidently says, "A Paladin is a Leader in righteous combat."

(Gebo looks around the room with pride)

Gebo calmly says, "When it is necessary to fight, the Paladin will seek to guide and inspire his comrades, taking a forward position in the battle and facing the foe boldly. A Paladin does not hide from his foe or sneak about."

Gebo sternly says, "A Paladin is a Protector."

Gebo taps a tower shield painted with the words, "Death before dishonor!" that he is wearing.

Gebo confidently says, "He will seek to prevent harm to the innocent and will place himself at risk in order to accomplish this if need be."

Gebo sternly says, "A Paladin is Just and works to promote and enforce Justice and the Law."

Gebo cautiously says, "If a Paladin does not agree with a law, he must still respect it and should work to change it rather than disregarding it. The only exception to this is if the Paladin believes the law to be truly Evil. In this instance, the Paladin must follow the dictates of his conscience."

Gebo raises his hand.

Gebo happily says, "A Paladin is Honest."

Gebo kindly says, "He will not lie or otherwise seek to deceive a person. A Paladin does not cheat or seek to take unfair advantage in his dealings with others."

Gebo taps himself on the chest.

Gebo calmly says, "A Paladin is Loyal."

Gebo confidently says, "He does not betray his god, his liege-lord, his guild, his family, or his friends."

Gebo sternly says, "A Paladin is Holy."

Gebo hopefully says, "He seeks to do that which pleases his god in all manners of the Code, and knows that the purity of his soul has a profound impact on the abilities the gods bless him with."

Gebo yells, "I honor this code, I pledge my body and soul to it. I, am a Paladin!"

Gebo raises one arm above his head and then brings it down to the ground in front of him, kicking both legs briefly in the air before standing up straight again and taking a flourishing bow.

Madigan says, "Thanks Gebo."

Gebo sits down on the silverwood bench.

Madigan says, "Alaxndr will give us a brief history of the paladin council."

Madigan gestures at Alaxndr.

Alaxndr nods to Madigan.

Alaxndr says, "Thank you, brother."

Alaxndr says, "Greetings, bretheren."

Alaxndr says, "I am Alaxndr Durnovaria. I recognize many of you and have the pleasure of calling you friend."

Alaxndr says, "There are also many faces new to me, and I hope to have the chance to get to know you. It does my heart good to see this hall so full."

Alaxndr says, "I have been tasked by those organizing this meeting to give a short discussion on the history of our beloved guild."

Alaxndr says, "A task, which I did not realize at the time, was quite monumental."

Madigan ponders and, that is why we passed the buck to you sir.

Alaxndr confidently says, "Quite fruitful, however. I hope a glimpse into our past will shed light on current predicaments."

You laugh at Madigan!

Alaxndr chuckles.

Xalahai appears to be trying hard not to grin.

Alaxndr says, "And I do appreciate that honor."

Alaxndr winks at Madigan.

Alaxndr asks, "Shall we get to it, then?"

Alaxndr raises an eyebrow.

Alaxndr says, "Throughout recorded history there have always been individuals who have been called by the Immortals to become Paladins."

Alaxndr says, "These individuals were set apart, never coming together and forming the sacred bond we here in this room share as guildmates."

Alaxndr emphatically says, "It was four centuries ago, around 8 BL, that seven individuals came together to create our organization, its leadership and its charter."

Alaxndr says, "The original seven members were Syal, Hraige, Csilla, Jerthay, Jenton, Dreldan and Medern."

Alaxndr says, "These seven were the first Council, though they would not have called themselves that for they neither had council chambers or a guildhall. They simply discussed ideas and issues around the campfire."

Alaxndr says, "Syal is considered to be our founding member by most historians. Certainly Syal, Hraige and Csillia were the first three, as the others are recorded as joining them as much as 5 years later."

Alaxndr says, "Sadly, not much is known about Syal. What little I could uncover I will share."

Alaxndr says, "Syal was a human, the youngest son born into lower nobility. When the gods called upon him, he left his life of ease to follow the visions given to him."



Alaxndr says, "He was being raised to become a monk, but the Immortals had other ideas."

Alaxndr says, "I could find little records of what these visions entailed, however it is widely documented that he shared these visions with Baron Falstad of Therengia."

Alaxndr nods politely.

Alaxndr says, "Hraige documented that Csilla was the one who helped Syal decipher his visions."

Alaxndr says, "They seemed to center on, at least at that time in his life, the Dragon Priests and the evils that they called upon. The first seven offered their services in battling these foes, which is why the Barons' patronage continues to this day."

Alaxndr says, "All that is known about his death is that he sacrificed his life to save his friends. There has been much speculation surrounding this event, known as 'The Bonding'."

Alaxndr says, "Hraige's journal attempts to describe this event but sadly, at the end of his life he was plagued with a malady that attacked his memory and his writings are sporadic, at best."

Alaxndr regretfully says, "A sad end to Syal's mentor and a hierarch of the guild."

Alaxndr says, "After Syal's death, the Baron gave recognition to the remaining 6 and allowed a guildhall to be created."

Alaxndr says, "Medern oversaw the creation and acted as guildleader for this hall. We know he lived to an old age, but was murdered. I could uncover no hard facts of his death."

Alaxndr says, "This guildhall was situated in Therenborough, and was the only guildhall the city would see."

Alaxndr says, "Sadly, it burned down many years later."

Alaxndr says, "Syal and Medern were not the only ones to come to a shady end. Csillia, after leaving the council, was never heard from again."

Alaxndr says, "Jerthay died of plague and his twin brother, Jenton, died shortly after. Dreldan seems to be the only one to die of natural causes."

Alaxndr says, "More would follow in their footsteps. Emille was one, a memeber of the second generation of councilmembers. She was well known for leading a revolt in the mountain region, though it is not documented as to what for."

Alaxndr says, "She left the council in 35 AV to found the guildhall in Hibarnhvidar."

Alaxndr says, "Oane has notes on the excavation of her tomb that is in that very guildhall."

Alaxndr says, "A matter which will, I assume, be discussed later in this meeting."

Alaxndr says, "Kraphae was another second generation council member. Though ambitious, his ambitions led him to steal many valuable artifacts."

Alaxndr furrows his brow.

Alaxndr says, "In 79 AV Karaphae was deemed guilty of artifact thievery and impeached from the council. Official comments cite treachery and a lack of Paladin virtues."

Alaxndr hesitantly says, "There were some who implicated him in Medern's murder, saying that Medern found Karaphae's secret and was killed for it. This accusation has not been substantiated with fact, however."

Alaxndr says, "Other noteable figures in the Paladin guild pertanent to todays discussion include Beren and Oane."

Alaxndr says, "Beren was the original founder of this very guildhall. Quite some time into his tenure, the council deemed the morality of Paladin's had declined."

Alaxndr says, "They took it upon themselves to relieve Beren and instate Darius, the youngest recorded guildleader. Most of you knew Darius when he was here, or know him now as the guildleader in Hibarnhvidar."

Alaxndr says, "Beren has not been seen nor heard from since by any I know."

You frown.

Penderrin grins slowly.

Alaxndr says, "Oane Hannitraulm is a council mandated researcher for the Paladin guild. He has penned some fantastic writings on both fact and speculation concerning the history of Paladins."

Alaxndr says, "In fact, much of the information I have gathered and shared heretofore has come either from his books or a series of lectures he presented some years past."

Alaxndr says, "The council is currently made up of these members: Argred Talinga, Asilias, who assisted Oane in the excavation in the Hibarnhvidar guildhall,."

Alaxndr says, "Grechard Ironward, Rymoor Ghelan, Shinia Lorefist, Verahn Desuin, and Vyran."

Alaxndr says, "That is the information that I have gathered. I hope it is pertinent to our remaining discussion."

Alaxndr smiles.

Madigan stands up.

Alaxndr says, "If you wish to see the references I consulted, please see me privately afterwards."

Alaxndr draws his greatcloak aside, and bows courteously, sweeping his free hand before him.



Madigan says, "Top notch Alaxndr."

Madigan says, "Ok, right on schedule."

Madigan says, "We are going to do two questions for which there will be prizes."

Madigan gestures at Sebestyen.

Sebestyen stands up.



Madigan says, "Sebestyen will assist in this exercise, and he has donated the two prizes."

Madigan says, "The first person to whisper the answer to Sebestyen will be awarded the prize."

Madigan says, "Here is the first question."

Madigan asks, "Who was the first paladin guildleader?"

Sebestyen says, "We have an answer."

Madigan says, "Go ahead and pass the prize my friend."

Sebestyen smiles at Kortok.

Madigan calmly says, "It seems I need to find harder questions."

Madigan says, "Medern, in Therengia."

Madigan says, "Although, if I could pronounce it correctly I would say the full name."

Madigan grins.

Sebestyen says, "Hibnawhatever."

Xalahai says, "Hibarnhvidar, sir."

Adongonif says, "Farfromhere."

Jerid says, "Thats how I say it."

Casserah says, "Isn't it Dwarven? Try drinking first."

Sebestyen offers Aaiyaah a golden yellow tabard emblazoned with Chadatru's noble lion.

Aaiyaah pulls his yellow tabard over his head, settling the fabric panels evenly over his chest and back.

Madigan says, "Ok, now to the meat of why we are here."

Zhyan says, "No."

Madigan says, "Penderrin will give us some background on Oane, the allegation and some facts as to her discovery after the allegation."

Penderrin says, "I'm goin from memory and random notes, so it'll be somewhat fluid."

Penderrin says, "A messenger from the Council approached us in the guildhall, her,e roughly 2 weeks ago."

Penderrin says, "With orders to apprehend Oane and bring him to Sir Darius or Sit Cleworth for treason."

Penderrin says, "The nature of the treason was never revealed."

Penderrin says, "With the assistance of a moon mage, Khras, We hopped a moon gate to Hib."

Penderrin says, "Upon arrival, we spoke with Sir Darius."

Penderrin says, "He informed us of a secret passage beneath the Hib guildhall."

Penderrin says, "Yes, the resting place of Emille the Fist."

Penderrin says, "Also contains a chest for exchanging your Holy Weapon for another."

Penderrin says, "Same place."

Penderrin says, "We did Find Oane."

Penderrin says, "He led us to the chamber."

Penderrin says, "And his Tale began."

Penderrin says, "From his lecture series, he has always been intrigued by Emille."

Penderrin says, "He mentioned he was lookign for something in the chamber."

Penderrin says, "As during his first visit during its excavation, Asilias, yes, the council member, was present also."



Penderrin says, "Shortly after entering the chamber, Darius was re-assigned to Hib, the coffin containing her body enclosed in glass and Oane taken off assignment."

Penderrin says, "The guards in her tomb were already present. I've gone back since to check things out for myself, nothing's changed since our visit."

Penderrin says, "Aside from Oane's absence."

Penderrin chuckles.

Penderrin says, "He also mentioned secrets, things hidden from us by the council."

Penderrin says, "Specifics? No."

Penderrin says, "But, he informed us of a source: Dreldan's Journal."

Penderrin says, "And the keeper of it is Beren."

Penderrin nods.

Uthgaar says, "We need to find this Beren is what yeh sayin."

Penderrin says, "After some private discussion, we returned to Sir Darius' chambers."

Glemm asks, "'This Beren'?"

Penderrin nods.

Rivalin gazes at Penderrin.

Penderrin says, "The same."

Glemm shakes his head.

Penderrin says, "And informed him we could not carry out the council's order."

Janneth frowns at Penderrin.

Penderrin says, "Oane has since disappeared."

Penderrin says, "Or, gone into hiding."

Penderrin says, "Sir Darius informed us of where beren may be found."

Penderrin says, "And that we were walking a VERY fine line on treason ourselves."

Penderrin says, "But, he did let us leave."

Penderrin says, "With assistance from Khras again, we went to Corik's Wall."

Penderrin says, "Commander Fenhalut of the Emerald Knights greeted us, and consented that indeed Beren resided behind the wall."

Penderrin says, "He had agreed to send word via his rangers to locate Beren for us. We have not heard much since."

Penderrin says, "Couple points i'd like to touch on."

Penderrin says, "Oane did seem.................troubled."

Penderrin says, "Fits of laughter and whatnot."

Penderrin says, "Csilla of the former council had these same symptoms while being tormented by soem visions."

Penderrin says, "The same visions Syal had."

Penderrin says, "And, Commander Fenhalut."

Penderrin says, "The vision was of a paladin holding back shadowy figures, screaming for help. And no answer."

Penderrin says, "The shadowy figures..............were Paladins."

Heplythea blinks.

Kortok shudders.

Penderrin nods.

Rivalin asks, "Who's vision was this?"

Sebestyen says, "Troubling..."

Penderrin says, "Commander Fenhalut of the Emerald Knights."

Satchiko nods at Sebestyen, obviously agreeing with his views.

Penderrin says, "As of late, we all have felt the unease around us."

Penderrin says, "The "unseen threat."

Vendskar nods in agreement.

Penderrin says, "And heard the howling of the Hound."

Adongonif asks, "Question. Has anyone gone to Cleworth with this information?"

Madigan quietly says, "Friends, let's let the good sir finish...then we will open up for factual questions. Then move to open forum."

Penderrin says, "We do not know who or what the hound is."

Penderrin says, "But, it's been at the wall before we got there."

Penderrin says, "Before we even heard it the first time."

Penderrin says, "It also followed us there."

Penderrin says, "We verified it with our eyes."

Madigan adjusts his half plate.

Madigan gestures at Uthgaar.

Uthgaar makes a grunting noise.

Uthgaar asks, "First, why did you not bring Oane to Darius?"

Janneth praises Uthgaar.

Uthgaar says, "Not that I think the order was right, but you should have done yer duty."

Janneth nods at Uthgaar, obviously agreeing with his views.

Penderrin says, "I didn;t agree with the Order. A scholar and Guild archivist suddenly stripped of duty reminded me too much of Beren's Dismissal."

Uthgaar asks, "Would Oane not return with you?"

Uthgaar peers quizzically at Penderrin.

Penderrin says, "He did not. it was offered, and he left of his own accord."

Uthgaar ponders.

Glemm says, "Can we keep this to actual questions and not self-righteous grandstandin."

Uthgaar says, "Not grandstanding."

You say, "We believed that turning Oane in would leave too many unanswered questions that could affect us all."

Glemm says, "Plus Oane ran off before we could decide what to do."

Adongonif asks, "Yes, has Sir Cleworth since been informed of these goings on? If so did he shed any light on the situation?"

Penderrin says, "He did not, and has not, to my knowledge. I have not been to therengia since the event."

Glemm says, "Not thatah know of."

Madigan quietly says, "Please whisper to me if you have questions, and I'll put you on the list."

Glemm nods to Penderrin.

Adongonif says, "That was my question."

Penderrin says, "If Darius was informed, it stood to reason the council would hear of it."

Baelor asks, "Do you believe that maybe Oane is not of sound mind?"

Penderrin says, "A possibility, aye. With the droolin and what not."

Glemm nods.

Glemm says, "He seemed a bit outta it."

Glemm says, "Betweentha cacklin and droolin."

Penderrin says, "My gut didn't tell me so."

Penderrin says, "He was very concise."

Penderrin says, "Not so much "rambling" as i just did."

Baelor asks, "Yes or no?"

Penderrin says, "No, i believe him of sound mind."

Glemm shakes his head at Penderrin.

Penderrin says, "If not tormented and troubled."

Madigan asks, "Glemm or Katt, you were there...what is your opinion on that question?"

Glemm nods to you.

Glemm says, "Whatchu think."

You say, "I actually think he's a bit of a stretch from sound of mind. But I think he was clearly afraid for his well being."

Iskhhr quietly says to Penderrin, "Even if otherwise, in madness, there is often wisdom."

Glemm says, "He knew his facts, that was fer sure."

Madigan nods.

Glemm says, "But mebbe from what he saw, kinda put him in a different place thantha rest of us."

You say, "It seemed to me that it was fear that affected him more than anything."

Penderrin nods at you, obviously agreeing with your views.

Madigan asks, "Ok, other questions Baelor?"

Baelor shakes his head.

Baelor says, "That is all."

Madigan says, "Gwen."

Gwenddolyn asks, "Does anyone know what happened to the artifacts that Kraphae stole? Someone must have found them if they proved Kraphae stole them. Could these be what is being hidden from us?"

Penderrin says, "No trace of the stolen artifacts."

Gwenddolyn says, "And if Oane did take an artifact or find one, it is possible that they possessed him. Many artifacts are protected by such spells."

You say, "Honestly, we don't have those answers."

Penderrin says, "To my knowledge, anything procured int he burial chamber was handed over to the Council."

Gwenddolyn asks, "This Beren, what do we know of him at all? Where could he be?"

Glemm shakes his head.

Penderrin says, "Behind Corik's Wall, in the care of the Emerald Knights."

Glemm says, "Beren was leader of this here guild before Darius came in."

Gwenddolyn says, "And this last part needs to be said."

Gwenddolyn asks, "I want to clarify something. You did not turn Oane in as you were ordered by your Guild's Council, and instead you sat and listened to him, and Oane was having fits of laugher as if possessed?"

Granyt says to Gwenddolyn, "He was the guild leader who wast here before Sir Darius and inducted some of us into this guild."

Gwenddolyn asks, "You left and did not turn him in? Then you heard a hound of justice howling afterwards? You feel you are qualified to make decisions based on behalf of the Paladin Council?"

Glemm says, "Yes."

Glemm nods to Gwenddolyn.

You smile at Gwenddolyn.

You say, "Correct."

Sebestyen appears to be trying hard not to grin.

Penderrin says, "I make decisions based on what i feel. I am a Paladin, not a toy soldier who obeys orders blindly."

Gwenddolyn says, "Many of us will disagree, the council could have sorted it out."

Janneth blinks.

Madigan asks, "Other questions Gwenddolyn?"

Gwenddolyn shakes her head.

Madigan nods.

Penderrin says, "I have tried speakign with other guild leaders about Sir Beren, and have yet to receive a response."

Glemm nods to Gebo.

Casserah asks, "Is he all right?"

Rumael says, "I am a bit concerned by what seems to be a lack of faith in our fellow paladins and an unwillingness to extand a little benefit of doubt, particularly to those paladins serving as guild leadrs. If there is any goup that should be able to go out on a limb for someone it is us."

Alaxndr says, "They are taking a good look at him. He seems... more himself though."

Rumael says, "We can sort this out."

Rumael says, "Witholding information isnt an evil act, parent do it every day."

Rivalin frowns.

Zozuskar says, "We are not exactly children, however."

Glemm says, "Well said, Zoz."

Rumael says, "No, but we arent as well informed as our leaders."

Silus nods.

Silus says, "Indeed."

Casserah says, "Perhaps we should be."

Heplythea softly asks, "Who is to say how the council views us?"

Penderrin nods to Casserah.

Madigan asks, "Anything else Rumael?"

Adongonif says, "We should perhaps pray to the immortals for guidance."

Casserah says, "Regardless of how they view us, I for one don't count them as my parents."

Iskhhr says to Heplythea, "Always will authority deem itself capable of making judgment for the majority."

Rumael says, "My point is there seems to be an assumption of the worst as far as intent, mostly about the council but some seem to feel that way about Glemm and company."

Kolaisa says, "Our oath is to the Immortals, not a council of men."

Rumael says, "Have a little faith that you fellow paladins are making the best decisions they can with what information they have."

Penderrin nods at Kolaisa, obviously agreeing with his views.

Casserah asks, "Is the act of faith to be all on our part and none on theirs?"

Iskhhr says to Rumael, "It is always best to assume nothing to be as it seems."

Madigan calmly says, "Let the paladin finish please."

Casserah says, "My apologies."

Iskhhr says, "And mine."

Glemm says, "Quick note, ifah may."

Glemm says, "Sir Madigan."

Madigan says, "Sure, after Rumael wraps."

Rumael says, "Im done, other than trust each other to try and make the best decision."

Madigan nods to Rumael.

Madigan says, "Glemm, you can go then I am going to wrap up with a thought and dismiss. Everyone is welcome to stay and contineue the discussion."

Glemm says, "In regard to Rumael's comment- we could be bein played by Oane for all we know. He could be lyin about this entire thing. Beren could be dead. The Council could have our best interests in mind. All we know is that there's sumthin goin on that we may or may not be privvy to. Just keep yer eyes and ears open, and tryta sharetha info so that we are all ontha same page."

Glemm slowly empties his lungs.

You nod to Glemm.


A single white feather drifts lazily down from above, coming to rest gently on the ground.

Jeniveve gazes upward.

Penderrin kneels down and begins to pray.

Madigan says, "Ok, I am honored so many of us gathered together today."


Adongonif asks, "Was it a mongoose feather?"


Erieck gazes at his feather.

Madigan says, "It has been too long and we should do this more often."

Alaxndr nods in agreement.

Rivalin nods at Madigan, obviously agreeing with his views.

Iyowen quietly asks Erieck, "What k-kind of feather?"

Erieck chuckles.

Madigan says, "I have had a few whispers on my opinion on this matter."

Erieck says, "I'm not sure what type of feather it is.."

Penderrin begins chortling at Loqutis.

Granyt says to Madigan, "The Mentors still hold their weekly socials alternating between here and Haven."

Madigan says, "That does not preclude me trying to find answers to the obvious questions out there after this discussion."

Iskhhr says to Madigan, "I beg you yet belay action."

Jerid says, "I think it best to keep these meetings seperate from the mentor meetings, dont want the youngens who rely on the mentor meetings to get swamped by a bunch of us guys who need canes to get around."

Madigan says, "That is all I have. I consider the formal meeting dismissed. Please, let us stay and talk in a more informal matter."

Madigan smiles warmly.

Teilnsar says to Erieck, "Mayhap a feather of cowardice , warning that we shall have our courage tested , and not falter in the face of what is to come."

Sebestyen says, "May the Immortals Guide us."

Glemm dusts himself off.

Teilnsar says, "Chadatru bless ye , and judge thee true."

Glemm stands up.

Thanks everybody. Sorry I missed the beginning of the meeting. Would have liked to have spoke more on the interpretation of the Code.

Thanks to Madigan for hosting, Kattena for logging, Glemm and Penderrin (And Kattena again) for filling us all in on, and Alaxndr for doing an excellent job compressing a ton of background into a succinct and usable summary.

Also, the Zombious/Zombius thing a) Wasn't the person's fault (See: What happened to Gebo), and b) OOCly, was likely a result of whatever power that be accidentally typoing the messaging. I picked up on it because of my highlight strings, but tried to avoid metagaming ICly with this knowledge.

Still, great turnout, well executed.

Also thanks to Iyowen for baffling Iskhhr into being much more outgoing than his normal temperament. :)

Neat meeting, wish I could've been there. One thing, about the history, Oane's lecture, the first one, states Beren wasn't actually the founder of the Crossing guildhall. Dreldan was, though I know the Play.Net paladin description still says otherwise. If Oane's research is right, there should be quite a few leaders between Dreldan and Beren, since Dreldan was an old human when the Crossing hall was founded. Again, that is if Oane's right, and I haven't heard anything to say his earlier research was debunked as false.

My character isn't among those who have approached her. However, these events include a lot of history, moral ambiguity and treachery. Considering what he knows of Caelumia first hand and through discussions with others, he has considered approaching her to pick her brain about it on a few occasions. It's only some differences of opinion that he can't quite bring himself to overcome that have kept him from it.

If you've got a big enough reputation, you don't have to insert yourself, you get dragged into everything. It's normal and natural.

I don't understand your post or where it's directed.

One of them was at the meeting. She was asking if the outbursts that occurred could have been the work of some kind of spooky moonie mind control mischief. Then they got to talking about soul state stuff and the Code, and what Oane possibly found.

Before anyone jumps on me for chasing or something, I really have zero interest or intent to try being involved in the event itself. The area in Hib just sounds interesting and I'd personally like to follow the goings-on from afar, and it occurred to me that I could probably shepherd some noob Paladins to Hib to check out the area and roletard a little while I'm doing so, so I figured I'd offer.

There's a great group of paladins that hang out in there and are EXTREMELY helpful, much more than I would ever be.

You are doing them a disservice by trying to portray the Crossing Guild as anything but what it is- a gathering place for great people to help others.
