This is purely observation speculation and a bit of redundency, i will have to do some testing to confirm this... But it appears horses have 2 modes of combat, one for npc and one for PC, on the NPC one the horse basicly sucks, ya cant see it engage (ya know its always engaging what yer facing anyways) and well it sucks in general. I believe when somebody engages a horse it goes into PC combat mode till that player is dead (needs testing) or the horse is stabled/owner quits, and since players need to know when a horse is engaging them, it starts showing what its doing more and shows up on assess, and since players are typicly harder then NPC it makes sense as to why they are better in combat in this mode.

so it seems that them being better in combat isnt a BUG, but them not going back to normal when fighting creatures would appear to be

I am also wondering if this has any effect on forming a bond with yer horse, we dont get exp in pvp...it might not in pvp mode

however after reading the other horses forums some more i'm start to wonder if the lack of information from GM's is because forming a bond with yer horse is more just spending tons of time with yer horse and getting lucky enough to be flagged by a GM to have the bond, similar to how Galain was picked to be the first warmie over 100. Its the only logical reason i can think of for the lack of information. It would explain why tons of people doing the same things are only showing up a few bonds, to keep us wondering until they fix the system or something =P
