>>I think that anything that causes a soul hit, should automatically be better than anything from comparable guilds.>>
No it shouldn't. While I may agree that the soul hit is kind of stupid, I believe the spell is currently functioning as well as it should for a second tier magic tertiary disabler that renders someone completely immobile (Which I believe is more penalized than stuck in RT/stunned/webbed. Correct me if I'm wrong.)
>>Also on a different topic. I vote for an automatic TM increase to our PM level to compensate for the lack of TM training spells in the past.>>
Because everyone has the same amount of TM as PM right? If so, please give me 300 more ranks of TM as well so I may have around 600 in both.

As a clarification, since there seems to be a little confusion:
- You still only suffer first strike on somebody once. This means if you Stun Foe them, then hit them (or the reverse), there is not a second whammy to your soul. And the whammy is way, WAY less than it was before. Way less.

I don't the a problem with training it.
Primary Magic: 632 86% dabbling (1/34) Harness Ability: 638 24% perusing (2/34)
Power Perceive: 444 49% mind lock (34/34) Magical Devices: 386 02% very rapt (31/34)
Targeted Magic: 319 63% clear (0/34)
Total Ranks Displayed: 2419
Right now i'm backtraining OH but when i'm back to where i should be to backtrain armor and lower weapons so i can really multi train at level I'll be easily learning TM. Put time in it.

being faced or advanced should also aleviate the first strike penalty... once we are advanced we are granted consent... we should be able to attack, In self-defense of course.
This should count for those who hide and advance against us... so I stop getting a stinking soul hit fer smite hording their cowardly hiding hindends.

I don't think advancing should negate the first strike penalty. Paladins should be above such taunting moves. I view JUST advancing like someone trying to pick a fight, trying to goad the person, the paladin in this case. Paladins should stand firm, and not react to taunting like that with physical violence.

Just to reiterate that point. Perfect to do while upgrading to protect against ranged/tm :)
>>As was pointed out by the person I quoted, it is very likely many people are perceiving Stun Foe as being better because their stats are set up more for stamina vs stamina rather than will vs will.

Good then I should do well at both. Looking for a good SvS defender and WvW defender to test tonight please. (good as in 50+ in respective stats to be comparable to mine.)
>>Paladins should be above such taunting moves.
We should be above most other taunting moves. I wish CrC would make it really hard for someone who has faced us (not us face/advance them) to have a harder time getting away with the retreating rewrite.
I don't believe there are any other "taunting" type spells. I don't know much about bard enchantes (I can see them having one) or a barbarian roar/wails. (I think they should have one for them as well)

And, that is your personal opinion. I am not sure where you (and certain GM's) get the idea that the guild is a pacifist (gah, did I spell that right?) guild? The Code not only allows you to drop the hammer on folks, it requires that you drop the hammer on people in certain instances.

Not to be snarky, but 12 months ago your character had 41 less ranks in TM. I'm not sure what point your post proves. Well done, you've trained, at most, 41 ranks in tertiary TM?
9/14/08
Primary Magic: 571 71% clear
Harness Ability: 567 78% clear Power Perceive: 377 71% clear
Magical Devices: 271 58% clear Targeted Magic: 278 07% clear
No matter what, Paladins are going to learn TM at a tertiary rate. It'll be the same headache that Rangers have - and for most, backtraining hundreds of ranks is not really a viable option. Hence the pissed-offedness.
