Interesting.

Just tried out Stun Foe. I always used Halt if I had trouble hitting something but now I can use stun foe instead. And if Halt has no restrictions on who/what I can cast it on now, is there really a purpose to having both spells? Stun foe seems to deliver a good stun (at 20 mana), enough to even knock the critter down.

Stun Foe is probably an easier contest to win than Halt. Immobilized is I think one of the most penalized states there is. A spell that immobilizes should be a hard contest to win.

Little messaging post for footman's strike... kinda cool, almost like we are shooting bolts from our sword.

You gesture at a giant black leucro with your bastard sword, letting out a war cry to Chadatru!
The mana you were holding contributes to the spell.
A shower of white sparks flash along the edge of the sword, blinking out of sight near-instantly.
Several bloody dents appear on the black leucro's head.
The black leucro is lightly stunned!
Roundtime: 1 second.

Also, I think the Chadatru thing is tied into our holy weapon, as I wasn't able to get it to work on my other non-holy weapon.

Halt = WvW

Presumably depending on how you and your opponent are set up, one is 'better' than the other.

Can you add soul messaging to it. Apparently it does trash soul but no messaging to the stun foe spell.

Hmm.. was there any messaging for Smite Foe? Trying to figure out why it wouldn't carry over.

I would love have this spell not cause a soul hit. No damage is done. But unfortunately there is a soul hit. Just not shown.

I'd hope that's just an error that was pulled over from smite foe. This is a nonviolent spell that could be a good way to tell someone to back off without having to engage in fisticuffs.

Max duration I have received with halt (p.s. this is the second duration nerf in two years) is 8 seconds. Someone please tell me they are getting longer durations?

The Stun Foe spell is pretty cool and very useful from what I can see so far. Thanks for it!

I don't understand the 8 second halt, and I Hate to bring up the guild vs guild abilities, but does shockwave and it's 20 second roundtime apply to the same ruleset?

It's hard to take nerfs to our abilities :(

8 seconds is the worst success you can get for Halt. If you are getting that, I would readjust your casting routine.

I'll have to check what the deal is for when spells don't cause soul hits.

I rarely give folks near my circle 20 second rt's with shockwave. It sounds like Halt has followed the same path as Thunderclap. Welcome to the club.
