So it's a pretty long log, but I bolded Raesh to make for easier skimming. Quick summary goes something like, Raesh has limited time b/c he's doing a lot of different jobs. As such he's waiting to get a feel for what Kaldar want (within reason) before he jumps into doing anything.

Hardwood floors are surrounded by white walls on three sides, a glass on the fourth. The glass wall seamlessly transitions into a clear ceiling. A U-shaped desk dominates the space with a leather chair at its center. A pair of chairs rests in front of the desk. You also see a cute puppy.

Sithix lands an extremely heavy hit (9/22) that rips the left leg from the hip socket, making a wet popping sound, knocking him completely senseless.

Raesh says, "I haven't gotten a chance to go through them yet, I've only been back in town for like a day."
Raesh says, "That said, I'm slightly familiar with the idea of splitting into clans like Elothean houses."

You say, "That was my second question. We've been told there's a gnome village that's close to done, but honestly it sounds pretty fake."

Raesh says, "Generally though I think the focus at first is going to be on the Lore."

Garrosh quietly says, "So its a blessing and a curse that you can code."
Raesh says, "Establishing how Kaldar are and are not like Gorbesh and Big Humans."

Raesh says, "I'd look for sometime early to mid next month for some events I have planned for Kaldar to start up."
Garrosh quietly says, "I did some reading on Kaldar's they seem to be almost to the point of samurai as it comes to military and or their point of views."
Eyuve asks, "By events, do you mean like GMNPC events or like get-togethers?"
Raesh says, "I mean like GMNPC events."
Maulem says to Garrosh, "Kaldar-AN's. Not Kaldars."
Garrosh quietly says, "Ok ok."
Raesh says, "Not gonna say much more about that yet."
Raesh says, "Just gonna say that's about the time line to start looking out for stuff."

Tenebra asks, "Is there a library heavy in Kaldaran lore anyplace in the lands?"
Raesh says, "If there is, I have not found it."
Raesh says, "Most of the books I've seen are heavily Alberian or Gorbesh themed."

Raesh says, "But doesn't do a lot to define what exactly a Kaldar is these days."
Maulem says, "One day, when I stop being lazy, I'm going to write a book or two."

Raesh says, "Which is somewhat like reading about the Renaissance to understand modern American society."

Raesh says, "And I think I turned up some background information on the Kaldar that wasn't with the rest that should be helpful - but I don't have my hands on it yet."
Eyuve says, "Also, if it turns out we do get some more Albarian god love, I'd wonder if you would ever consider doing favors for them. You don't have to answer that now."
Raesh says, "Should have it in a few days hopefully."
Raesh says, "And if that doesn't answer the questions, I have no issues writing answers."
Raesh says, "I just want to make sure I don't end up saying one thing when everyone else on staff is saying another."
Eyuve says, "Finally, I'm a little confused on the language. There are some hints that Imperial Gorbesh is a little more fancy than what we speak now, and so it would be nice to have that settled."
Raesh says, "As for Albarian God favors..."
Raesh says, "That's going to depend largely on the answers to the other questions, and the favor system people."
Raesh says, "I'll admit it, I'm not a huge fan of the idea, but I'm not totally opposed to it."
Eyuve says, "I personally am not a huge fan of them being rolled in just like every other favor system."
Eyuve says, "If it were done, it would be nice if it were done differently."
Eyuve says, "I even almost like playing favorless, and would like to keep some of that element there. I can expound more on that on the boards though."

Raesh says, "I'll have to ask Bartlebee - he's sorta The Man when it comes to languages and I'm just learning to deal with Gorbesh."
Raesh says, "What you see in the published dictionaries is about what I know about the language right now."

Garrosh quietly says, "From what I read about the Kaldaran people who stayed with old ways, they seem to be very heavy into military and priests/clerics are afforded positions of honor. but it never did specify in what ways or things of that nature. I would like to see a little more in depth explanation of the kaldaran people.."
Garrosh quietly says, "The lore and what not."
Garrosh quietly says, "Its very vauge."
Raesh says, "That is, in essence, the problem."
Raesh says, "There are some broad sweeping statements about Kaldar."
Raesh says, "But very few details that I've found so far."
Raesh says, "In a nutshell "The Kaldar were concerned that the Gorbesh had forgotten their roots and split off to live more in touch with nature". Okay... that can be taken a LOT of ways."
Garrosh quietly says, "Well gorbesh at the moment is what people think, because that in essence is what Kaldaran's are. they are gorbesh who left the empire to keep old ways alive.... thats just what I could gleen from it."
Raesh asks, "Did they totally trash their Gorbesh culture? Or just swap walls for rivers?"
Raesh says, "That sort of thing."
Garrosh quietly says, "You have your hands full."
Raesh says, "That's a large part of what I'm going to try and get answers to."
Maulem says, "The main things we know are of the Gorbesh, because they were the conquerors. Yet, in my mind at least, the Kaldaran peoples have always existed as well in Albaria, side by side. You just never hear of them because the victors write the histories."
Raesh says, "There was a definite split about 500 years ago."
Raesh says, "Where the Kaldar movement as it's known now started."
Raesh says, "If you're staying the Kaldar view on things always existed, that's possible."

Garrosh quietly says, "What i was interpreting kaldar have always been but they were gorbesh until i guess gorbresh when on the war path. and lost sight of their heritage.... but thats what i gathered."
You say, "The way I'd read is is that kaldar have always been around, just some went to live in cities and mass kill anything that wasn't a gnome."
Raesh says, "That's not how I read the timeline, but we'll see. Like I said apparently there's a bundle of documentation I haven't got my hands on yet."
Raesh says, "So who knows what the answers will be."
Raesh says, "And if they aren't there, I'll put em there."
Raesh says, "From the timeline though I see -100: Many Gorbesh in the West begin to feel they have lost their roots, and begin calling for a return to nature."
Raesh says, "And -95: Emperor Gotiez begins to grow suspicious of those now calling themselves Kaldar, fearing the growing support of their teachings."
Raesh says, "Which says fairly clearly to me that's the point where the Kaldar, as a collective, formed."
Maulem says, "Right, but...look at the Albarian Timeline (not the Gorbesh Imperial one)."
You say, "On the flipside somewhere it says that this group is "going back to the roots."
Maulem says, "Right about the time Xin'Alaudas was born, it seems to me that even the Gorbesh then were wild heathens, not much different from us."
You say, "And since the race is Kaldar... I just assumed Kaldar had always been around."
Raesh says, "I believe that's speaking of the Gorbesh roots."

Yeah guys I'm really sorry about that. Kinda got roped into working, believe me I wouldn't have gone if I'd had a choice. Was nice that a few people got ahold of me about it though. I'd really like a bit of input as to what works for everyone in terms of scheduling but I'd like to get it set up inside of a month from now at least, so we can come to Raesh with some concrete ideas of what we'd like to see as far as development. I'd like to start inviting the Gnomes as well if we make this more of a regular thing but since it'll be a mostly Kaldar-dev thing for the first one it'll probably just be us. Look forward to hearing from everyone

Heya,

I'm in a bit of an awkward spot this month, as I'm going on holiday for the next two weeks, followed immediately by moving to Norway.

That said, I should have internet access for at least the first week of my holiday (next week) and am willing to hop in for a meeting, and after I get to Norway (Nov 2nd) things will be back to normal. In both cases I'd prefer about 3-6 pm EST. I could also maybe do earlier.

Raesh, I think the idea is for it to be OOC, possibly followed by some IC meet and greet? Though it might be an idea to do the IC part first. In any case I'm sure you're welcome to attend the OOC part.

So roughly now in a week, seems like a decent time.
