>>Why don't we all meet at the Gorbesh fortress near Shard at 9 Eastern this Sunday. Hopefully Belladzia can make it too. I usually get off of work on time for the meetings, but my schedule can be tenuous.
Oh boy! Speakers!
I hope I get to meet more poor, disenchanted 16-year-old orphans from a war that is 40 years in the past!

Re: Meeting log on 08/31/2009 08:14 AM CDT
Warning, large block of text!
Belladzia says, "Greetings, greetings, and you know..."
Mellicent exclaims, "Good to see you Belladzia!"
Belladzia says, "Greetings."
Belladzia asks, "How is everyone doing to this evening?"
Halfstaff asks in Gorbesh, "Great..and yourself?"
Vyraka says, "Sore, but well."
Mellicent says, "Devoon."
Evran asks in Gorbesh, "Anyone else notice that the majority of Gnomes here are moon mages?"
Belladzia asks in Gorbesh, "Its a trend for the evening perhaps?"
Evran says in Gorbesh, "On that note... I'd like one of these for real."
Mellicent asks, "Or an omen?"
Evran says in Gorbesh, "Make it so."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Okay, for tonight we have a trivia contest, a special announcement and the usually "Questions and Evasive Answer" session."
Mellicent says, "Well, I have my questions ready."
Oritaibeng asks in Gorbesh, "Soon and maybe?"
Belladzia asks in Gorbesh, "Would you prefer the contest or the session first?"
Mellicent asks, "Let's save the contest for the latecomers?"
Evran asks in Gorbesh, "Whatabout earlygoers?"
Mellicent says, "We get the questions and answers cuz we were prompt."
Evran says in Gorbesh, "Thats what forums are for."
Unsphoren asks, "Was I prompt or late?"
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "And on an OOC note, I'm lagging badly so this could get interesting."
Mellicent says, "Sorry to hear that."
Mellicent asks, "Are you going to open the list for questions?"
Vyraka says in Gorbesh, "Uh oh."
Evran exclaims in Gorbesh, "I can do that too!"
Suraek says in Gorbesh, "She called it...."
Mellicent says, "Dang."
Squanto says in Gorbesh, "Hello."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Man thats annoying."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Okay, lets do the Q A first and hope I get better."
Gazlo asks, "Greetings Squanto! I am GameMaster Gazlo here to answer your request for assistance. How can I help you today?"
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "List is open folks."
Savvine says in Gorbesh, "I havent thought of a question yet."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Well shoot."
Squanto asks in Gorbesh, "This is my first meeting. What is the general structure?"
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "Dang...again."
Vyraka says in Gorbesh, "Well, typically the gamemaster sits in one spot."
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "Well, we have a q and a session, get news about upcoming things Kaldarish, and then sometimes we have a trivia game, or someone lectures on Kaldar history, etc..."
Vyraka says in Gorbesh, "In this meeting, we are having questions and evasions first. Although sometimes we have games first. There is no struction."
Vyraka says in Gorbesh, "Structure too."
Savvine says in Gorbesh, "Structure is for organized people."
Squanto says in Gorbesh, "Thanks."
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "Well, what we'll be doing could be a moot point if Belladzia can't stay awake."
Savvine says in Gorbesh, "We can always go to the bar."
Mellicent asks in Gorbesh, "How is that different from any other day?"
Savvine asks in Gorbesh, "True, but why stop a good thing?"
Savvine says in Gorbesh, "Its a nice way to pass time when not killing."
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "Or, in my case, selling."
Savvine says in Gorbesh, "We dont even have any snacks."
Savvine says in Gorbesh, "Why thank you."
Squanto says in Gorbesh, "All I ever eat is yak jerky."
Marssi says in Gorbesh, "You're welcome."
Squanto says in Gorbesh, "I know."
Savvine says in Gorbesh, "Oh lovely."
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "No wonder I keep losing caravans."
Savvine says in Gorbesh, "This is better than jerky today, have a sweet tooth apparently."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Okay that is super annoying."
Savvine says in Gorbesh, "Shes bac."
Savvine says in Gorbesh, "Rejoyce."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Melli, quick as your question."
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "Embroidery patterns."
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "You know what I mean."
Vyraka exclaims in Gorbesh, "Good question!"
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, ""Soon."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Is the best I can do today I'm afraid."
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "Okay, I knew there would be evasions."
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "Although I was livid to see Prydaen patterns at the Magma Falls fest...and nothing Kaldar."
Evran asks in Gorbesh, "Just wondering if there were any plans for more goats?"
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Yes it is called the "Evasive Answers" for a reason."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "More goats."
Savvine says in Gorbesh, "Prydaens get everything."
Evran says in Gorbesh, "Non-auction prices hopefully."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Not currently, no."
Mellicent asks in Gorbesh, "Goats for gnomes?"
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "What kind of pet could we Kaldars get."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "But you should post your desire on the Gnomes board."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Never can tell."
Evran says in Gorbesh, "They were designed for gnomes but most went to non-Gnomes."
Marssi says in Gorbesh, "I'd love a goat."
Mellicent asks in Gorbesh, "What?"
Belladzia asks in Gorbesh, "Okay, any more of you need an evasive answer to something before we move on the to contest?"
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "Let's get to the news."
Evran exclaims in Gorbesh, "Village!"
Belladzia asks in Gorbesh, "I'm honest, no?"
Belladzia exclaims in Gorbesh, "And on to the contest!"
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "This contest was written by our very own Vyraka."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Big hand for all her work."
Evran exclaims in Gorbesh, "Fixed!"
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "Good thing I didn't say anything rude about contests."
Belladzia asks Vyraka in Gorbesh, "Will you keep score for us?"
Vyraka exclaims in Gorbesh, "Sure!"
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Alright, this is a trivia contest."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "You have 30 seconds to answer."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "WHISPER your answers to me."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "WHISPER, WHISPER, WHISPER."
Belladzia asks in Gorbesh, "Any questions?"
Aourn asks in Gorbesh, "What do we do with our answers?"
Marssi asks in Gorbesh, "So we shout them out?"
Suraek says to Marssi in Gorbesh, "That's what I heard..."
Belladzia exclaims in Gorbesh, "Okay first question!"
Evran says in Gorbesh, "Shout em in Prydaenese."
Belladzia asks in Gorbesh, "What is the name of the area that the Kaldar and Gnome Refugees passed through to get to Kermoria?"
You whisper to Belladzia, "The hand"
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Times up."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Hanryu for a point."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "The answer is The Dark Hand."
Belladzia asks in Gorbesh, "What continent do Kaldars originally hail from?"
Evran says in Gorbesh, "I'm so gonna lose."
You whisper to Belladzia, "Kremoria"
Vyraka exclaims to Evran in Gorbesh, "Have Faith!"
You whisper to Belladzia, "oops! lol Albaria, minus 1 point for Hanryu lol"
Evran says in Gorbesh, "Whisper the answers to me and I might."
Belladzia exclaims in Gorbesh, "Time's up!"
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Or probably, I don't have a watch."
Belladzia exclaims in Gorbesh, "Point to Unsphoren!"
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "The correct answer is Albaria."
Evran says in Gorbesh, "Erm."
Aourn exclaims in Gorbesh, "Woo, I got one right!"
Riani says in Gorbesh, "I was so thinking that."
Evran asks in Gorbesh, "Is it first answer only?"
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "And here I was thinking it was something other than Albaria."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Oh I forgot she even gave me hints."
Belladzia asks in Gorbesh, "What monstrous hairy four-legged mammal is often associated with Albaria and Kaldar?"
You whisper to Belladzia, "mammoths, and boo"
Belladzia exclaims in Gorbesh, "Point to Beledona!"
Belladzia exclaims in Gorbesh, "Mammoth!"
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Pity Maulem's not here."
Aourn says in Gorbesh, "Man, I'm slow."
Riani says in Gorbesh, "I'm just going to start guessing randomly."
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "I was too slow."
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "Darn."
Evran says to Riani in Gorbesh, "I am."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Here's a hard one."
Belladzia asks in Gorbesh, "What is the Gorbesh word for Kaldar?"
Riani says in Gorbesh, "It's the way to go, really."
Belladzia exclaims in Gorbesh, "Point to Aourn!"
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Satiyon."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Now one for you history buffs."
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "I need a refresher history course."
Belladzia asks in Gorbesh, "Besides skirmishes with their kinsmen, the Alaudian Gorbesh, who - or what - was the #1 adversary of the Kaldar in Albaria?"
Evran says in Gorbesh, "I find the irony in saying that question in Gorbesh rich."
You whisper to Belladzia, "occular"
Belladzia exclaims in Gorbesh, "Point to Hanryu!"
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "The Ocular."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Evran was close though."
Evran says in Gorbesh, "I'm always late on the ones I know."
You say in Gorbesh, "Empty ale flash is also accepted."
Belladzia asks in Gorbesh, "What former Gorbesh Prelate served as the Voice of the first Kaldar settlers?"
You whisper to Belladzia, "Akrian Dein"
Vyraka says in Gorbesh, "Hint: He has a book somewhere in Kermoria."
Riani says in Gorbesh, "Umm..."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Another hint is....He eventually takes the title Elder."
You whisper to Belladzia, "Duveus"
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Point to Hanryu."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Duveus."
Savvine says in Gorbesh, "I am too slow."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Halfstaff knew it too."
Evran whispers, "Yay for google!"
Belladzia asks in Gorbesh, "How about one for the Gnomes?"
Belladzia asks in Gorbesh, "What tradeskill are Gnomes most known for?"
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "POint to Halfstaff."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Tinkering."
Riani asks in Gorbesh, "Does inventering count?"
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "The really obvious ones are the hardest."
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "Beat me to the punch."
Aourn says in Gorbesh, "Trick question."
Belladzia asks in Gorbesh, "True or False - The average height for gnomes is 6 inches?"
You whisper to Belladzia, "true"
Evran exclaims in Gorbesh, "Ha!"
Belladzia exclaims in Gorbesh, "Evran got a point!!"
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "Hee hee."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "False, they're usually a couple feet tall."
Evran exclaims in Gorbesh, "I'm 1 foot 6!"
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "As you can see if you look around."
Aourn says in Gorbesh, "I can't see any gnomes when I look around. They're too low."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "BAck to history."
Belladzia asks in Gorbesh, "What is the name of the Gnome Moon Mage whose visions inspired Kaldar and Gnomes to emmigrate from Albaria?"
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "Ha! come on you gnomish moon mages."
Belladzia exclaims in Gorbesh, "Point to Halfstaff again!"
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Prophet Trimbolt was that great mage."
Aourn exclaims to Halfstaff in Gorbesh, "Be slower!"
Belladzia asks in Gorbesh, "How many known Gnome Clans come from Albaria?"
You whisper to Belladzia, "5"
Evran says in Gorbesh, "Yay for random numbers."
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "Let's see if Halfstaff has enough fingers to count on."
Belladzia asks in Gorbesh, "Was that a random guess Hanryu?"
Evran asks in Gorbesh, "Does that count the lost clans?"
You say in Gorbesh, "I was looking it up a few days ago."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Point to Hanryu."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "5 (Cip'uja, Tloticuc Gnomes, Bosueq Gnomes, Opirks Gnomes, Iyqaromos)."
You say in Gorbesh, "Yea I didn't remember that."
Savvine says in Gorbesh, "Lots of gnomes."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Okay, this is an easy one."
Belladzia asks in Gorbesh, "How many Immortals are there in the Gorbesh Religion?"
You whisper to Belladzia, "10"
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Hanryu again."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "This is seeming fixed somehow."
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "I"m pointless."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Wait, I'm in charge."
Evran says in Gorbesh, "You said it."
Belladzia exclaims in Gorbesh, "The answer is 10!"
Belladzia asks in Gorbesh, "Which Gorbesh God is known as the Father of the Ocular?"
Evran says in Gorbesh, "Argh... I know this one."
Belladzia exclaims in Gorbesh, "Woot! POint to Aourn!"
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "The God Sieben."
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "Hang in there."
Squanto asks in Gorbesh, "Is there a sliding average?"
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "This one is very hard I think."
Mellicent asks in Gorbesh, "Bell curve?"
Belladzia asks in Gorbesh, "Which best describes the early Gorbesh settlement of Ixaem located in Albaria?"
Evran says in Gorbesh, "Cabn't divide by zero sorryu."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "City of the Builder, City of Love, City of Dead, City of Gnomes."
You whisper to Belladzia, "city of dead"
Vyraka exclaims in Gorbesh, "Ooo. Ooo. I know!"
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Point to...."
Belladzia exclaims in Gorbesh, "Hanryu!"
Belladzia asks in Gorbesh, "Seriously, is he the only who read that one book?"
You say in Gorbesh, "I always thought that was super creepy."
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "Someone tie him up next time we do this...oh...and gag him."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "City of the Dead."
Riani asks in Gorbesh, "Where is this book anyway?"
Evran says in Gorbesh, "Library."
You say in Gorbesh, "Shard's got a copy."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Ask Hanryu."
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "You know I love you, hun."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Okay here's a really hard one."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "What type of mines were destroyed during the Second Gorbesh-Kermoria."
You whisper to Belladzia, "gweth"
Vyraka says in Gorbesh, "If you are an old timer, you remember."
Riani says in Gorbesh, "Looks like I need to take a scholarly trip to Shard sometime then."
Belladzia exclaims in Gorbesh, "Point to Unsphoren!"
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "If he says gweth stones, I'll choke."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "A lot of you said gweth but didn't say "gweth stones" or name the stones."
Mellicent asks in Gorbesh, "Was it?"
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Jadeite and kyanite."
Evran exclaims in Gorbesh, "I did!"
Evran says in Gorbesh, "But late it appears."
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "Yup, just couldn't spit it out fast enough."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "And back to a hard history one."
Savvine says in Gorbesh, "Know the feeling."
Belladzia asks in Gorbesh, "What race was Akiren Dien, the Kermorian Missionary who was imprisoned by the Gorbesh and then later banished to the West of Albaria with the Kaldar?"
You whisper to Belladzia, "elf"
You say in Gorbesh, "Damn pointy ears."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Point to Hanryu."
Belladzia exclaims in Gorbesh, "Elf!"
Evran says in Gorbesh, "Or not..."
You say in Gorbesh, "Course I up and marry one so...."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Last question..."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "And this was on a backpack I think that Unorina painted."
Belladzia asks in Gorbesh, "What was the name of the S'kra Mur Navy's Ship that battled the Gorbesh Armada?"
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "At least an elf is our size."
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "No disrespect intended to our gnomish brethren. of course."
You whisper to Belladzia, "Fangs of Ushnish"
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Point to Aourn."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Fangs of Ushnish."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "I may not have pronounced that correctly."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Its a hard one."
Evran exclaims in Gorbesh, "Woohoo! I know that Gnomes aren't 6 inches!"
Belladzia asks Vyraka in Gorbesh, "And who is our winner?"
Riani says in Gorbesh, "That...actually sounds familiar."
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "Fangs...for the memories."
Savvine says in Gorbesh, "Jee i wonder."
You say in Gorbesh, "There's also an area near Skeleton's Crook named that."
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "I predict, although I'm no moon mage.....Hanryu."
Squanto asks in Gorbesh, "So no curve?"
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Did she say? I missed it."
Vyraka says in Gorbesh, "Hanryu - (7)."
Belladzia exclaims in Gorbesh, "Oh still counting!"
Vyraka says in Gorbesh, "Followed by Aourn - (3)."
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "Definitely gag him next time."
Belladzia exclaims in Gorbesh, "He wins a trip to the isolation ward!"
Belladzia exclaims in Gorbesh, "Nicely done!"
Halfstaff says in Gorbesh, "Well done Hanryu."
You exclaim in Gorbesh, "Thank!"
Savvine says in Gorbesh, "He knows his stuff."
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "He does."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "We've been trying to get rid of him for years and he totally fell into that trap."
Riani says in Gorbesh, "Practically threw himself right in."
Belladzia asks Vyraka in Gorbesh, "Who was second and third please?"
Evran says in Gorbesh, "Second was Aourn with 3."
Vyraka says in Gorbesh, "Aourn - (3 Halfstaff - (2) Unsphoren - (2)."
Evran says in Gorbesh, "Pay attention."
Vyraka says in Gorbesh, "Split for 3rd."
Mellicent exclaims in Gorbesh, "And last....Mellicent with Zippo!"
Savvine says to Mellicent in Gorbesh, "Your not the only one."
Vyraka says in Gorbesh, "Fourth is Beledona - (1) Evran - (1)."
Mellicent exclaims in Gorbesh, "I have to share my dead last position!"
Evran says in Gorbesh, "I didn't even win the booby prize."
Squanto asks in Gorbesh, "Will there be a redistribution of points?"
Evran says in Gorbesh, "So you're one up on me."
Aindriu asks in Gorbesh, "I was grandfathered in right?"
Vyraka says in Gorbesh, "The idea behind it was to be educational.."
Savvine says to Mellicent in Gorbesh, "Ill let you be last if you want."
Riani says in Gorbesh, "And everyone else... no, no need to embarrass us by calling out our scores."
Unsphoren says, "Oh! I can really use this."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Prizes would have been better but I had a month you wouldn't believe."
Unsphoren says, "Thanks."
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "Ooooooh, food and drink."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Have some refreshments for a minute and I'll announce the anouncement."
Mellicent exclaims in Gorbesh, "Yeeeeee Haaaaaaaa!"
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "Good whisky."
Aindriu says in Gorbesh, "Oh yeah."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Its basically a room full of dwarves."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "All this guzzling and burping."
Riani asks in Gorbesh, "Why is there water wasting counter space?"
Aindriu exclaims in Gorbesh, "Nae a dwarb!"
Belladzia exclaims in Gorbesh, "I like water!"
Evran exclaims in Gorbesh, "Because its lemon water!"
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "All 3 whiskeys are good."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Actually I really hate it when they put lemon in my water."
Squanto says to Belladzia in Gorbesh, "Me too."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "You never can get the thing out before it flavors it."
Evran asks in Gorbesh, "Then ask them not to?"
Belladzia asks in Gorbesh, "Wuss?"
Squanto says in Gorbesh, "Tastes like fingers."
Belladzia asks in Gorbesh, "I don't want the chef to spit in my soup?"
Aourn says to Unsphoren in Gorbesh, "You need it more than I."
Riani says in Gorbesh, "You've been had. Someone nicked the fourth kind of whisky and put lemon water in its place."
Evran asks in Gorbesh, "The chef cooks your water?"
Oritaibeng asks in Gorbesh, "I hate it when they don't put sugar in your tea. Who's never heard of sweet tea?"
Evran says in Gorbesh, "Strange restaurant."
Unsphoren says to Aourn, "You earned your prize, brother. You should have it."
Aindriu says in Gorbesh, "Ah, forgot my horn from the last meeting."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Okay, quiet down and let me do this announcement thing."
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "I feel sleepy."
Aourn says in Gorbesh, "I have no need for money."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "You can suck down whiskey afterwards too."
Unsphoren says to Aourn, "Thanks."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "One thing that was originally requested by you people in our first meeting last fall was..."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Racial.."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Pre-titles."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "And they're here."
Evran exclaims in Gorbesh, "Ha!"
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Gorbesh actually."
Evran exclaims in Gorbesh, "Take that cats!"
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "And YOU will decide some of them."
Mellicent exclaims in Gorbesh, "Wooot!!!"
Evran says in Gorbesh, "Elves are going to hate us..."
Belladzia exclaims in Gorbesh, "Cause we're holding a contest!"
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "Oh yeah."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Or I am anyway."
Vyraka exclaims in Gorbesh, "Hurray!"
Evran says in Gorbesh, "Oh... I was checking my title list."
Mellicent exclaims in Gorbesh, "YAY!"
Aourn says in Gorbesh, "So, Belladzia. Quick question for you."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Shoot, Aourn."
Aourn asks in Gorbesh, "Did I put my last name together properly?"
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "I'll do the rules in a second."
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "I was hoping for gem eye color, but I'll gladly take titles."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Actually, I think you did. Yes."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Well done."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Okay, there will be 3 prizes."
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "I took my kaldar name too."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Third place
I haven't decided yet."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Second place
I haven't decided yet."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Never fear, I make great prizes."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "First place
."
Evran asks in Gorbesh, "How about a custom title?"
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "She does..."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Why thats a great idea."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Lets do that."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "First Place
A custom title."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Thats truth, I already got that prize cleared."
Aourn says in Gorbesh, "Oooh."
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "Refugee should be one."
Evran says in Gorbesh, "I'm a moon mage mage."
Evran says in Gorbesh, "Psychiuc and all."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Naturally the custom title will have to be cleared by those that clear that sort of thing."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "So you can't be something...dirty or whatever."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Elf lover."
Riani says in Gorbesh, "Domis elipsa. I bet that'll be popular."
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "Tailed wonder."
Vyraka says in Gorbesh, "Naughty Nymph Vyraka."
Evran says in Gorbesh, "You forgot the o."
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "I guess that measn stuff muffin is out too."
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "Er, stud muffin."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "A custom title is a pretty good prize if I do say so myself."
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "Not for me...the guys."
Evran says in Gorbesh, "Stuff muffin is what the halflings do."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "I think it takes a couple of years to earn that in LTB's."
Aourn asks in Gorbesh, "Are these titles going to be in the Gorbesh language?"
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "No, and I'm going to quiet the room for a couple minutes while I recite the rules."
Aourn asks in Gorbesh, "Or just Gorbesh titles in general?"
Aourn says in Gorbesh, "Oops.."
Evran exclaims in Gorbesh, "Oh the Gnomanity!"
Mellicent says in Gorbesh, "Shaddup and listen."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "If I can figure out how."
Evran says in Gorbesh, "Thumping me might help."
Mellicent asks in Gorbesh, "Did it work?"
Vyraka asks in Gorbesh, "What?"
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Okay, there we go."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "I'll take more questions after."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Entries MUST be original creations of your own design."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Entries MUST be submitted in ENGLISH. Any entry submitted in ANY other language, including Gorbesh, will be considered invalid and WILL BE DISCARDED."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "The winning entries will be translated into Gorbesh by staff. All titles will be translated utilizing the Kaldaran dialect unless otherwise specified IN the entry submission."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Along with the title please include an explanation of what the title means."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "For example: If the title is BEAR KILLER, do you mean that it is a person that kills bears or a bear that kills."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "This will directly affect the translation so please be crystal clear."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "If using the name of an animal or item in the title, that animal or item MUST be something that already exists within Dragonrealms."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "No title that hints, states or implies that the title wearer is of a specific guild will be considered for this contest (i.e., Albarian Knight, Kaldaran Barbarian, Singing Kaldar, Sneaky Gnome.)."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Feel free to specify IN the entry who you visualize this title being used by, but the final requirement decisions will be left entirely up to staff."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "You may submit multiple entries in one email, but please utilize the above formatting example for EACH title submission."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "This contest is open to all Kaldars and Gnomes in Prime, Plat and TF. You must have an active Dragonrealms account at the time of judging in order to be considered a winner."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Submit your entries to DR-BELLADZIA@PLAY.NET, and please be sure to use the subject of "GORBESH TITLE CONTEST." Use all capital letters please. This will help me sort them as they come in from regular mail and help keep your entry from being buried under the avalanche of the other email that I receive."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "You MUST include your character name, character's race (Kaldar OR Gnome), character's circle, your account name and a current email address."
Belladzia exclaims in Gorbesh, "If I can't contact you I can't tell you that you won!"
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Deadline for entries is September 30th. Winners and prizes will be announced at October's Prime Kaldar Gathering and afterwards on the forums."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Standard submission/property rights listed under PREMIUM 8 apply."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "I will be posting all of this information on the forums after the meeting."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "And finally, the winning prize is NOT transferable."
Belladzia asks in Gorbesh, "Anyone have any questions about the rules?"
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Melli and Evran's names were on there from last time so if either of you don't have questions just say you don't."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Cleaning is too hard."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Okay closing the list now."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Darn Mell left."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Okay first question from Vyraka."
Vyraka asks in Gorbesh, "So, am I understanding this right that we can make "suggestions" for what skills, stats, whatever, you need to have a certain title?"
Evran says in Gorbesh, "Erm."
Evran says in Gorbesh, "I was skipped."
Vyraka says in Gorbesh, "Eep! Sorry."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Yes you can suggest who you think should have that title."
Evran says in Gorbesh, "I'll go whenever."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "You can go next."
Belladzia asks Vyraka in Gorbesh, "Did that answer your question?"
Vyraka says in Gorbesh, "It did. Thanks."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Excellent."
Evran asks in Gorbesh, "Title dialect... that just means whether you want it to be in the Gnome or Kaldar dialect when translated? As simple as that?"
Evran says in Gorbesh, "Okay."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Yes, Gnomish dialect is slightly different from Kaldaran."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "And the linguist will take all requests into consideration."
Riani says in Gorbesh, "Heheh, nevermind. I see now that multiple entries are permitted, just one at a time. That's all I had."
Aourn says in Gorbesh, "Can we add a suggested translation? Some titles could be really nice in Common, but a mouthful in Gorbesh. I had that problem when coming up with my last name. I didn't want it to look like a random jumble of letters to non-Gorbesh folks."
Aourn asks in Gorbesh, "Also, what if I circle a bunch between time of submission and winni...er, the contest ends?"
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "The circle is just a guideline."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Oh that's a good question acutally."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "I had meant to put in a circle requirement."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "So you must be at least 10 circle to be considered for the winning slots."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Thats simply to keep this in character with those that actually play Gnomes and Kaldar."
Riani says in Gorbesh, "Sounds fair."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Rather than just roll-up a character to win."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "If you're a commoner thats fine, but note it in your entry."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "And the suggested translation question."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "No."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "The translator is super fussy and I had to promise stuff you don't want to know just to get him to agree."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "I do not want to tick him off."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "That would actually be hard but you get the idea."
Belladzia asks in Gorbesh, "Any more questions?"
Aourn says in Gorbesh, "Well, perhaps he just needs a beer at next year's Con."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "You can post them on the forums if you think of them later."
Aourn says in Gorbesh, "That's all from me."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "I do keep an eye on those."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "I thank you all for coming and help yourselves to the food and drink."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "It'll be here for a little bit longer."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Teeny bit."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Done."
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Just kidding."
Belladzia asks in Gorbesh, "What was I doing?"
Belladzia says in Gorbesh, "Oh right."
Oritaibeng asks in Gorbesh, "Getting me plats?"
Halfstaff says in Gorbesh, "Safe paths all."
Vyraka exclaims in Gorbesh, "Take care everyone!"
Oritaibeng says in Gorbesh, "I like this champion. Short and to the point."
Halfstaff says in Gorbesh, "Well done on the contest Vyraka."
Evran says in Gorbesh, "She's Kaldar... hardly short."
Vyraka exclaims in Gorbesh, "Thank you Halfstaff!"
Evran says in Gorbesh, "Alright back to navel-gazing."
Aourn asks Unsphoren in Gorbesh, "May I take a look at your bow?"
You say in Gorbesh, "Well I'm off, safe paths everyone."
A guard steps in front of you and says, "I do apologize, but you are going to have to return via the portal."
From the seating area you hear Aourn say in Gorbesh, "This won't do."

Tolle says, "Yup yup, 'bout time. What the heck took you so long?"

Mini Meetings on 08/17/2010 12:37 AM CDT
Since some people requested to know in advance let's try these times for the mini meetings.
If they're bad for a lot of people I'll see about doing a third one, but I doubt we'll need it. Expect these to run about 15-45 minutes depending on how chatty people are.
Friday: 11 PM EST
Saturday: 4 PM EST

I'm looking forward to it!

I'll ask those in attendance if they have any problems with a log. At the very least I'll be sure to post a summary before the Sat meeting so that there will be minimal topic overlap.

If those of you who cannot make the meetings have a particular time in mind that would be acceptable let me know and I'll see what I can do - but no promises as I'm going to be nutty busy for the rest of the month.
Likewise if you can't meet them and you want to bring something to my attention/ask me something, wait until after the logs come up and I'll be happy to answer them here or through email.

Re: Mini Meetings on 08/19/2010 04:30 PM CDT
How about an hour later for the Friday night one? I'll still be a couple mins late for it, as I'll be en route from work, but if you're kidnapping to upstairs I won't have to run once I do arrive. Is that too late for you or other players? Gotta work all SaturDAY, so that's out for me, though its generally a decent hour to catch a majority.
And thanks for joining up, Raesh. 'Nother big bite. Chew, chew, swallow.

Re: Mini Meetings on 08/19/2010 10:01 PM CDT
I can totally move the Friday one later. I'm a night owl (despite a long trip of getting up at 6 am in time zones earlier than my native one) and expect to be back on that schedule... oh by tomorrow.
Let's say 12 AM (midnight) for Friday (Tomorrow) and 4 PM for Saturday (both EST) and I'll add in a Sunday one if anyone really feels it's needed. However in my experience with the Bard meetings it likely won't be.

Re: Mini Meeting 1 on 08/21/2010 07:27 AM CDT
So it's a pretty long log, but I bolded Raesh to make for easier skimming. Quick summary goes something like, Raesh has limited time b/c he's doing a lot of different jobs. As such he's waiting to get a feel for what Kaldar want (within reason) before he jumps into doing anything.
[Raesh's Office, Inner Lair]
Hardwood floors are surrounded by white walls on three sides, a glass on the fourth. The glass wall seamlessly transitions into a clear ceiling. A U-shaped desk dominates the space with a leather chair at its center. A pair of chairs rests in front of the desk. You also see a cute puppy.
Also here: War Drummer Broichan (sitting), Penetrator Squanto, Journeyman Empath Puggo (sitting), Parsala, Mammoth Rider Maulem, Akeyrr (sitting), Flame Spitter Feshii, Savage Garrosh and GameMaster Raesh (sitting).
Sithix lands an extremely heavy hit (9/22) that rips the left leg from the hip socket, making a wet popping sound, knocking him completely senseless.
That would have stuck if there was anything left to stick to!
The vermilion arrow falls to the ground!
You notice an odd, almost godly aura about Raesh.
You see GameMaster Raesh, the Toad of Fate.
He is a fat toad covered in leathery brown skin and warts. Noticing your attention he gazes at you hypnotically, hourglass pupils swirling in his large, brown eyes.
A simple command forms in your mind: "Worship the toad."
He knows your Fate, and he will outlive you.
He is in good shape.
He is holding a vermilion arrow in his right hand.
He is wearing a knowing smirk, some floppy bunny ears and a sign that reads: Problem Child.
You say, "You people stay up to late."
Feshii says, "Hello."
Raesh says, "That's a lie."
Feshii says, "For sure."
Raesh says, "This is still early."
Feshii says, "But not yet."
Akeyrr exclaims, "I was waiting for this!"
Garrosh quietly exclaims, "Lies.... i have a life!"
You say, "Not for us old people."
Squanto says, "Hi."
Puggo quietly asks, "What's this about?"
Raesh says, "Old people sleep less."
Garrosh quietly says, "It wasnt me."
Garrosh quietly says, "I blaim my fiance."
Garrosh quietly says, "I was in theren."
Feshii says, "I blame smelly cat."
Maulem says, "Evenin folkses."
Raesh says, "Anyhow for anyone who hasn't been following the forums - this is a little Kaldar get together, and it's OOC in nature in case that's not clear."
Feshii says, "Ah, ok."
Raesh says, "I'll start us off in a moment after more people have time to arrive."
Squanto says, "Aight."
Feshii says, "Nothing was clear."
Garrosh quietly asks, "Ima kaldar!?"
Broichan says, "Greetings all."
Raesh says to Garrosh, "Apparently."
Puggo quietly says, "I thought I was a nerfherder."
Feshii says, "Yup."
Puggo quietly asks, "Anyone want a first aid class?"
Raesh says, "Well... we got 10/21 people invited so far."
Garrosh quietly asks, "So.... can I have the dog?"
Raesh says, "Not bad, but I think we can do a bit better."
Garrosh quietly says, "Im hungry."
Raesh says, "No. The puppy is there for kicking."
Feshii asks, "We gonna get to do Kaldar things soon?"
Parsala says, "I've been waiting for this."
Puggo asks, "This meeting a secret from the rest of the realms, I assume?"
Raesh asks, "Define secret?"
Feshii asks, "Am I also still on the Green?"
Puggo asks, "They don't know about it, and we don't want them to?"
Feshii asks, "Like, dual reality?"
Raesh says, "You're in my office."
Garrosh quietly says, "Mmmm."
Raesh says, "Alright - that's likely enough time for people to arrive."
Feshii says, "They're all sleeping."
Raesh says, "I'll handle any strays who show up later."
Garrosh quietly says, "Kick em."
Puggo says, "Your office has terrible mana."
Feshii says, "Not terrible."
Akeyrr exclaims, "Nice holy, though- For my level!"
Squanto says, "Low mana? Perfect then."
Raesh says, "It's not terrible for necromancers."
Raesh says, "Alright so let's see what to cover."
Puggo says, "Yeah, but I tend to avoid Necros."
Puggo says, "Cool enough guild, but every time I heal them, some pally comes and removes my head."
Raesh says, "To start with, I'm not going to silence the room or anything fancy - so just try and behave yourselves."
Raesh says, "Secondly, if you need to leave at any time (Or at the end)."
Raesh says, "That'll take you to the entry, the exit is in there."
Akeyrr innocently asks, "Behave? Like what?"
Feshii exclaims, "Plug that leak!"
Maulem says, "I'd offer advice there, but I'm not really much of a paradigm of behaving ones self."
Feshii asks, "No, "that's what she said?"
Raesh says, "Alright - the last thing before we get started."
Raesh asks, "I figure one of you is going to take care of logging and posting it for the people who can't make it?"
Raesh says, "Say..."
Garrosh quietly says, "That involves effort....."
Feshii asks, "Logged?"
Raesh says, "Alright. Lemme know when you're good to go."
You say to Aourn, "Fine I'll listen to the long ones."
You exclaim, "Ready!"
Garrosh quietly says, "I aslo am logging just in case."
Raesh says, "Good deal."
Garrosh quietly asks, "So...... is this about making us like superman? and or woman?"
Raesh says, "So let's start with an introduction."
Squanto says, "Cant find a log here."
Raesh says, "For those who haven't met me yet, I'm GameMaster Raesh."
Raesh says, "I'm part of Team Lore and the recently appointed Kaldar Champion."
Raesh says, "I'm also currently on sorta unofficial assignment to the Bard guild."
Feshii says, "And yet, you're a toad."
Broichan says, "Introductions certainly helpful for me for sure."
Raesh says, "I am, indeed, The Toad."
Akeyrr exclaims, "Ribbit!"
Feshii says, "Pardon. THE Toad."
Raesh says, "I was The Toad before I was the Kaldar Champion."
Maulem asks, "Hypnotoad?"
Raesh says, "No comment."
Feshii says, "But I digress. Please, continue."
Aourn asks, "Don't suppose we could be in a neutral room?"
Raesh says, "Anyhooo - I'll be happy to answer any questions about who I am or what I do in a little bit."
Puggo says, "Better our rep be a toad, than a gerbil."
Raesh says to Aourn, "One moment."
Feshii says, "I have a gerbil."
Garrosh quietly says, "Wouldnt say that out loud feshii."
Garrosh quietly says, "People might think your..... off."
Feshii says, "It's has never entered an orifice of humanoids."
Feshii says, "It's ok."
Maulem says, "Or at least...Gere-like."
Raesh says, "Sorry, my office hasn't been used too much before."
Broichan asks, "As long as it's not a gerbil... fetish?"
Raesh says, "So I'm checking it over for the sake of the ranger types."
Garrosh quietly says, "Tell the rangers to man up and be barbs."
Puggo says, "Better than my office. Fewer Mnt. Dew cans."
Feshii says, "That's the Bards and their goat stuff, but again, I digress."
Raesh says to Garrosh, "Good point."
Aourn says to you, "Nine more to get rid of."
Garrosh quietly asks, "Rid of what?"
Garrosh quietly asks, "How much?"
Sithix asks, "Did I hear something about Ranger types?"
Broichan asks, "Goats? Do I need to know something about goats? What've I gotten wrapped up in?"
Raesh says to Aourn, "Now you did it."
Garrosh quietly says, "No no."
Garrosh quietly asks, "Free?"
Garrosh quietly says, "My favorite way."
Aourn asks, "Why not?"
Maulem says, "Well, first thing ya should learn, Toad-boy..."
Garrosh quietly says, "Cuz im small and you can extorte me."
Maulem says, "We are most generally thirsty."
Feshii says, "Just wait, Broichan. You get "iniated" at circle 100."
Raesh says, "If you're thirsty you should bring drinks."
Broichan says, "Oh goodness..."
Garrosh quietly says, "You just got told maulem."
Maulem says, "Hrm. Was hopin fer some of th' good Stonecrest Reserve or such."
Raesh says, "Alright. Should be a bit more ranger happy now."
Maulem says, "Er...whatsitcalled."
Garrosh quietly asks, "Why is there a kitty here?"
Raesh says, "Right. Where were we."
Sithix says, "There we go."
Aourn says, "Better than Mer'kresh."
Garrosh quietly says, "Sick im puppy."
Raesh says, "I'm Raesh, I do Lore stuff, Bard stuff (Right now) and now Kaldar stuff."
Maulem says to Raesh, "I believe Booze was th' topic raised."
Something in Broichan's oilcloth rucksack asks, "What's the ruckus out there?"
Feshii says, "Shhhh."
Raesh says, "Much like Bards, I admit, I have not really played Kaldar a lot in the past."
Raesh says, "But, much like Bards, I'm good at researching and listening."
Raesh says, "So in the future feel free to post any Kaldar related concerns, I read the forums a lot."
Raesh says, "Or email me if for some reason you're not okay with the forums, DR-Raesh@play.net."
Raesh says, "One moment on questions here."
Raesh says, "I'm basically going to lay out a few of my thoughts, those who've read the forums have likely heard most of them already, and then open the floor for Q&A."
Raesh says, "Firstly - Yes, I'm back in town."
Raesh says, "Secondly - No, I don't have a giant Kaldar release sitting around yet. I'm going to be kinda swamped for the next few weeks."
Raesh says, "But I do have some ideas to keep you entertained in the meanwhile."
Raesh says, "So keep your eyes open - likely sometime early next month I'd like to get the ball rolling on a few events."
Raesh says, "I'm going to be mum on that topic beyond giving a bit of a time line there."
Raesh says, "For any projects larger then that, such as area development or verbs or something."
Raesh says, "You're going to need a little longer time line - since as I've mentioned I'm wearing a few hats right now."
Raesh says, "Sorry if I sound like I'm saying "Yeah, I'm your Champion, but don't expect anything"."
Garrosh quietly says, "Eh its understandable with all the changes to combat and what not comming."
You say, "Could be worse."
Raesh says, "I just have a policy of trying to be open and honest about the situation, and it is what it is. I have plans for you guys, but I don't want to give the wrong impression."
Raesh says to Feshii, "One moment."
Raesh says, "So the final note I'll say before Q&A is my general view on the Kaldar in the near future."
Raesh says, "I generally feel the race has a lot of potential, but since it's release most of it has not been tapped into."
Raesh says, "And I expect the main focus of my work for awhile to be on answering three basic questions."
Raesh says, "What makes a Kaldar not a "big human", what makes a Kaldar not a Gorbesh, and what makes a Kaldar a Kaldar."
Garrosh quietly says, "Well said."
Raesh says, "The first two exist because that's, unfortunately, how a lot of people see Kaldar."
Raesh says, "Physically those statements are more or less true."
Garrosh quietly says, "Well my soul was around for gorbesh war soooo were kinda screwd on that regard."
Raesh says, "Alright. I think that covers what I want to say."
Raesh says, "Oh! One last note."
Raesh says, "I plan to have another meeting on saturday at 4pm EST."
Raesh says, "You're welcome to come to that one too, but it's going to be a similiar structure."
Akeyrr exclaims to Garrosh, "As was mine- and that character still wants her arm back from the Gorbesh too!"
Feshii asks, "This?"
Garrosh quietly says, "Was a nasty time to be sure."
Raesh asks, "Alright. Questions?"
Feshii says, "Puggo was first."
Raesh says, "Sure."
Puggo asks, "A few month backs, there was a meeting stating there would be shops specifically for the kaldar. Are those any closer to being a reality, or is that still mum?"
Raesh says, "Ah. That's something I should have mentioned."
Raesh says, "I do not currently have any notes from the past Kaldar GMs. Unfortunately things are not as organized as they could have been."
Raesh says, "I have been sent some of them from players."
Puggo says, "No worries mate. Glad to have you aboard."
Raesh says, "But the simple fact is I am not past GMs, I, for the most part, do not have their notes nor know what they were working on or their projects and promises."
Raesh says, "I'll look into them."
Raesh says, "Half finished projects drive me nuts."
Raesh says, "But, that is the situation."
Garrosh quietly says, "Well if rakash got one...... and they are glorified dogs."
Raesh says, "So the short answer to your question is this:."
Raesh says, "No, we're not very close to having any new Kaldar themed shops. I will keep it in mind and see if I can find any that were half finished or something."
Raesh says, "But I wouldn't expect them in time for, say, Hallow's Eve."
Raesh says, "The time line is just too short for that."
Puggo quietly says, "Was hoping to see some good Composite bows there or something."
Puggo says, "In following the gorbish military tradition and such."
Raesh says, "Well, if we're lucky, you'll be able to make a good comp bow in the near future."
Puggo says, "Even better."
Garrosh quietly exclaims, "What bout xbows!"
Garrosh quietly says, "Superior bow."
Raesh says, "And while that is, in essence, a Lore question - right now Kodius is the go to guy for crafting system questions."
Garrosh quietly says, "Will direct that hsi way."
Raesh says, "Crossbows are going to be part of the new crafting systems for sure."
Garrosh quietly says, "His way."
Raesh says, "Though I can't say off hand which exect discipline."
Raesh says, "Anyhow, Kaldars."
Raesh asks, "You were next yes?"
Feshii asks, "1: Will NEWS be posting updates for us, or will we have to learn of them "word of mouth?" 2) Will there be Kaldar functional verbs in the pipes, or mostly fluff?"
Feshii asks, "Did part 2 make sense?"
Raesh says, "First - NEWS is... not your best source of updates for development."
Feshii says, "Naturally."
Raesh says, "Trust the forums, specifically the Kaldar forums if you want to know what I'm up to."
Raesh says, "I'll let you know what's up there as best I am able. If you have questions, certainly post them there or email me as I said."
Raesh says, "As for the second question."
Raesh says, "I have no problem with race specific verbs for Kaldar, though generally race verbs tend to be fluffy."
Raesh says, "I do not currenty have specific plans for any, but again - suggestions on the forums are great."
Garrosh quietly says, "I need to read up on the lore a little better before i contribute."
Feshii asks, "No special attacks in brawling, like the cats and dogs, or such?"
Squanto says, "I have to be off. Good seein' you all."
Raesh says to Garrosh, "Join the club."
Garrosh quietly says, "We should hav ea kaldar learn night."
Feshii says, "Gotcha. Suggestion box topics."
Garrosh quietly exclaims, "Safe me champion the lizard is after me!"
Akeyrr says, "It seems to me that us Kaldars would have mean right hooks."
Raesh says to Garrosh, "Step on him."
Raesh asks Maulem, "I believe you were next?"
Maulem says, "Coupla questions from this ol' fart of th' bunch."
Garrosh quietly says, "Smells like it."
Maulem says, "First off, seein as how Bella left us in th' lurch so ta speak, are there any current or planned things like a sharepoint site or server space for preserving current/future work? If this is too proprietary a question, it's ok."
Raesh says, "We have such a thing. I can't discuss the details, but we do."
Raesh says, "That doesn't mean everything makes it up there..."
Raesh says, "Or that everything up there makes sense to anyone but the person who wrote it."
Raesh exclaims, "See? He knows what I speak of!"
Maulem says, "One would think that things would have been put in a bit more...translatable manner, but so it is."
Raesh exclaims, "See, this is where I'm suppose to say "I swear, we've better now and I'm going to make sure everything we discuss is passed on to the person who replaces me in 2035!"
Maulem asks, "Secondly, since you admittedly don't have any of Bella's notes or such, I'm guessin that if any of us have copies of stuff, particularly like the food/booze from the contest last year, we should share it with you?"
Maulem says, "I think th' only thing I have left are this hardtack..."
Raesh says, "Anything you submitted to her, I do not have."
Maulem says, "And this sausage."
Feshii exclaims, "Hey now!"
Feshii says, "Oh wait..."
Garrosh quietly says, "Wave it."
Garrosh quietly says, "Wave it."
Feshii says, "My mistake."
Raesh says, "I'm sorry, but again, I'm playing with the hand I was dealt."
Maulem asks Garrosh, "Happy?"
Raesh asks, "I'm going to have to kill some people before this meeting is over, aren't I?"
Maulem asks, "Well, I'm just sayin, there were food/booze stuffs made under Bella. If any of us have copies, share?"
Raesh says, "Bottom line: Anything you sent to Bella for a contest or something, feel free to send to me."
Sithix says, "I'd say anything you have at all you should spam to Raesh at least three times, so you're sure he got it."
Raesh says, "If you can include some context, that'd be awesome."
Puggo says, "The mana in here sucks, so if your gonna kill em, hit a non vital area please, easier to heal."
Aourn says, "A meeting without death isn't a meeting, Raesh."
Feshii says, "In sparkle font, preferably."
Raesh says, "That said - I can't promise to follow through with everything Bella promised. It may or may not end up with the overall direction we end up taking Kaldar."
Raesh says, "I won't know if it does until I see it."
Maulem says, "I realize that, but such like the Armagnac, and Stormcrest Whiskey, lost forever, that would be a sad sad thing."
Raesh says, "Now that we've had some death."
You hear the ghostly voice of Sithix say, "Hey now."
Garrosh quietly says, "I love you now."
Raesh says, "Just like everything else, I'll dig around and see if I can find it under the sofa or something."
Raesh says, "But don't count on it."
Garrosh quietly says, "I win."
Maulem says, "Aright. I'm done fer now. Need sleep. Will try and make the afternoon session."
Garrosh quietly says, "Everild's strength..."
Puggo says, "Your on your own dude, I can't help you."
Raesh says, "Right."
Garrosh quietly says, "Look at that damage."
Maulem says, "Good ta have ya."
Raesh asks, "Who was next?"
Garrosh quietly asks, "Um where is the best place to learn about Kaldars?"
Garrosh quietly says, "Oh sorry."
Raesh says, "S'okay."
Akeyrr says, "Th Asemath Academy has a few books that are applicable."
Garrosh quietly says, "Ok."
Puggo says, "Elanthiapedia."
Raesh says, "There are a couple of books on them, Elanthipedia has them all if you don't want to go on a library scavenger hunt."
Akeyrr says, "So does the library in the basement of the great tower in Shard."
Garrosh quietly says, "Ok, i need to read up."
Puggo says, "It's getting bigger everyday, very very helpful."
Raesh says, "Both Elanthipedia and the official page have a bunch of timelines that will give you some background on the split between the Kaldar and the Gorbesh."
Broichan says, "Aye, I've recently availed myself of all the good Kaldar historical material."
Garrosh quietly says, "I remember the split."
Broichan says, "The timelines (all of them) have been a big help, certainly."
You ask, "If you had a chance to look at the logs I sent you there was some talk about Kaldar tribes that used the same mechanics as the eloth houses. Is that somethign you can do? plan to do?"
Raesh says, "I haven't gotten a chance to go through them yet, I've only been back in town for like a day."
Raesh says, "That said, I'm slightly familiar with the idea of splitting into clans like Elothean houses."
Garrosh quietly says, "That would be pretty awesome i think."
Raesh says, "I'm neutral on the idea. I need to look into the proposed clans a bit more to see how I feel about them."
Raesh says, "However I'm totally open to a mechanic similiar to that."
Feshii says, "Given our numbers in the realms, I think it would be pairs per tribe."
Raesh says, "I'm working on Heritages for Bards right now, and the gooey core of the mechanics."
You say, "You'll see that I wasn't all gung ho about the numbers suggested."
Raesh says, "Are set up in such a way that they would easily support racial clans."
You say, "I thought it was to much, but I think the general idea was a good one."
Raesh says to Feshii, "Yes, that's a concern."
Aourn asks, "Do we really need racial clans though? There aren't that many Kaldar about as it is. Are we sure we want to diversify them even further?"
Raesh says, "Yup. That's why I'm neutral on it."
Aourn asks, "Or rather, spend that much time on them?"
You say, "Right that was my main concern."
Feshii says, "What I just said, less succintly."
Raesh says, "From a lore point of view, and a mechanics point of view - I have no objections to them."
Garrosh quietly says, "Personally i think it would elevate us more isntead of diversify."
Garrosh quietly says, "Be of so and so tribe."
Raesh says, "It's a matter of if we want to spend development time working on something that only a very few number would use."
Garrosh quietly says, "Instaed of the kaladar."
You say, "But on the flip side the process of expading on clans (they're talked about in some of the lore) would add reams of lore to the race."
You say, "So I approved of them on that basis."
Raesh says, "I'll certainly give it some thought."
Aourn says, "I'd rather see more tangible improvements to be honest."
Raesh says, "Oh - that also prompts another thought."
Raesh says, "If you have some ideas for the Kaldar that are supported by something in game."
Raesh says, "Be it an item, shop, event in the past - whatever."
Raesh says, "Anything, really, that isn't an easy to reference book."
Raesh says, "Go ahead and include that with the suggestions."
Aourn says, "Kaldar/Gnome town."
Garrosh quietly says, "I wouldnt mind seeing a area eventually like rakash got.... but that would take alota time."
Aourn says, "Or settlement."
Garrosh quietly asks, "Why so we can punt them?"
Raesh says, "Being able to hook into existing lore is nice when possible."
Garrosh quietly exclaims, "Oh a gnome kick it!"
Aourn says, "Because they migrated with us."
Garrosh quietly says, "I know."
Raesh says, "But anything that isn't well documented, I may not be aware of yet."
Akeyrr says, "There is a shop up in- I think Riverhaven- For big people, like the togs and Kaldar. Some of them were very nice leather-based goods."
Akeyrr says, "I would like to see more stuff like that."
Raesh says, "A Kaldar type area is possible. I'm not in love with the idea of each race getting their own little town."
You say, "That was my second question. We've been told there's a gnome village that's close to done, but honestly it sounds pretty fake."
Raesh says, "But it seems to be sorta a... thing."
You ask, "Is that real and if it is, is there anything for Kaldar along with that?"
Raesh says, "You'd have to talk to Dart about the Gnome village."
Aourn says to Raesh, "A Kaldar/Gnome settlement would make sense, something small and out of the way I would think."
Garrosh quietly says, "Well the kaldar had to migrate somewhere.... so settlement seems logical."
Aourn says, "Where 'the old ways' were more accepte.d."
Raesh says, "I need to speak to him about it to see if and how Kaldar are involved."
You say, "Ok, thanks. And thanks for taking on this responsibility."
Raesh says, "(For those who missed it from the forums, part of the reason so many of my answers are "I need to look into that" is because I was out of town basically from the point I got this position until yesterday.)."
Feshii says, "Raesh, thank you. Good luck with all of the hats. And I look forward to seeing some of your work."
Feshii says, "Be well Brothers and Sisters."
Broichan exclaims to Feshii, "Be well!"
Garrosh quietly says, "Yes do be well."
Ricci asks, "Instead of a town type of thing.. since the Kaldar are removed from their homeland.. what about if there was small various established Kaldar outposts in a few different sides of the world?"
Ricci says, "Kaerna-ish."
Ricci says, "I'd really like to see some Albarian goods."
Aourn says, "No silk please."
Ricci says, "They have been few and far between."
Akeyrr says, "Or even more like Horse Clan- but a bit nomadic."
Aourn says, "We are a hardy people, not a fu fu people."
Ricci says, "Small scale.. spread out."
Aourn asks, "Hearty?"
Ricci says, "Very simple."
Raesh says, "I'll consider some sort of Kaldar establishment - but it'll be awhile for sure, unless I find out the Gnome village has one hiding behind the tavern or something."
Aourn says, "Whichever one of those works best, use it in that sentence."
Raesh says, "I will never, ever, make silk for Kaldar."
Raesh says, "You can quote me on that."
Ricci says, "I'd think a hideout behind a tavern would be more appropriate than a full scale kaldar town."
Raesh says, "Actually you can quote me on "I will never, ever, make a new type of silk."
Ricci says, "That's more along the lines of what I was thinking."
Aourn says, "The only silk you can make is awesomesilk."
Raesh says, "True. This statement does not hold in TF."
Aourn says, "No I mean, I want some awesomesilk."
Raesh says, "I know you do, but it's also not going to be in Prime."
You hear a voice say, "No."
Raesh says, "Alas."
Garrosh quietly says, "Well other than you owe me for leaving my fiance at the auction when i had all the money, im gonna step out for a bit before she explodes on me."
You say, "Turn him into an an awesomesilk."
Raesh says, "Let's see - what questions did I miss."
Raesh says, "Ah! The Gods."
Aourn says, "Can you kill Hanryu for me? I don't want to get my nails dirty."
Akeyrr exclaims to Garrosh, "Good luck!"
Garrosh quietly says, "Was great meeting everyone, im gonna read up on the lore a little better."
Raesh says to Aourn, "No. You're a Kaldar. Earn it."
You say, "Wait just one more question:."
You hear a voice say, "Take that."
Garrosh quietly asks, "Who did he jus tshoot?"
Raesh says, "Me."
Garrosh quietly says, "Oh."
You say, "The toad."
Raesh says, "Evil evil S'kra."
You hear a voice ask, "Toad legs?"
Garrosh quietly says, "GET IM TOAD."
Raesh says, "I got him earlier."
Garrosh quietly says, "Hes all slimmy and lizardy."
You say, "And here I thought I was the only one that used vermilion arrows."
You hear a voice say, "Indeed."
You say, "I almost counted my quiver."
Raesh says, "Right. So - the Gods."
Garrosh quietly says, "Ok safe paths to everyone."
Garrosh quietly says, "Except the lizard."
You say, "Anyway... back to gods."
Sithix says, "See ya around."
Raesh says, "I need to speak to the cleric types a bit more, however when I was doing my crash course on Kaldar."
Akeyrr says, "Old cleric."
Raesh says, "One of the things that struck me was the relationship between the Kaldar and the 13."
Akeyrr says, "That is a bit of an odd situation. Some Kaldaran heeded an elf cleric who lived with them for a while and turned from the Albarian pantheon."
Raesh says, "For those who haven't read the time lines recently..."
Akeyrr says, "And some remained traditional."
Broichan says, "Before I did much reading, I had thought there would be less of a tie there."
Raesh says, "Yeah, I'm talking about Akiran Dein."
Raesh says, "Of course there's a good 200 years or so between when the Kaldar started to split off and Dein's deal."
Raesh says, "So... there's space there to take it several ways."
Sithix hisses, "Puppy."
Raesh says to Sithix, "It's nice and kickable."
Sithix hisses, "Ssso tasssty."
Ricci says, "One more quick thing."
Ricci says, "I know this is some old stuff now but I remember back around the time the Kaldar were introduced there was a small storyline involved with the Ocular."
Ricci says, "I thought it was a really cool RP angle that didn't get fleshed out."
Akeyrr exclaims, "Sneaky devils!"
Raesh says, "Ocular are, indeed, sneaky devils."
Ricci says, "I know you want to do original stuff but that's one group that didnt really overstay their welcome that i'd love to see return."
Broichan asks, "The Kaldar and the Ocular outside of Albaria?"
Raesh says, "There is a lot of history between the Ocular and the Kaldar."
Raesh says, "It's something we might touch on, we might not."
Raesh says, "And if we are going to touch on it, you're not gonna know until the shapeshifting jerks kill all of you."
Broichan says, "I remember there being a great deal of fighting between the two before the exodus."
You say, "I'd like to see more done to develop the Kaldar/13 relationship. There should be a general penchant for nearly zealotous behavior I would think, given that Kaldar are depicted as strong willed and the Kaldar up north (PCs) would be the descendants of immigrants that left for religious reasons."
Raesh says, "There was a fair bit of blood spilt between the two groups."
You say, "At least that's how I play my cleric... so maybe it's just me."
Raesh says, "Yes, the relationship there is something else I'd like to explore."
You say, "While I'm yackin'."
You say, "I'd like to see more done to develop the Kaldar/13 relationship. There should be a general penchant for nearly zealotous behavior I would think, given that Kaldar are depicted as strong willed and the Kaldar up north (PCs) would be the decendants of imigrants that left for religious reasons."
You say, "Wrong copy paste."
You ask, "Can you check with the PTB and make sure there are kaldar specific items (weapon really, cause who cares about fluff anyway) included in the release of the new lore skills?"
Raesh says to you, "It's not something I can promise, though to my understanding it's not something that is entirely out of line."
You say, "Yea I figured it's not directly in your purview, but you could do some championing for us."
Risty says, "I have a question."
Risty says, "I was curious how you're doing on answering your three questions."
Raesh says, "We haven't really touched on them in the meeting."
Raesh says, "Though we had some feedback on the forums."
Raesh says, "I have some ideas of my own, but I don't really want to talk about them yet for two reasons."
Raesh exclaims, "The most important being, I'm the new guy here. I don't want to come in and say "Hey, Kaldar are Orange!"
Raesh says, "I want to see what you guys view and see what it sparks in my mind and work with that."
Sithix says, "'That would be okay by me."
Raesh says, "It's sort of a push/pull thing."
Raesh says, "The second being that I rather introduce lore and such through events and books and other IG methods."
Raesh says, "Alright - since we seem to be winding down a little bit, I'd like to focus you guys for a few more questions."
Raesh says, "Then you can scatter or stick around and chit chat, whichever you like."
Risty says, "Okay. It just sounds like we may not get much done before those questions are answered. So I was curious."
Raesh says, "It's not quite that simple."
Raesh says, "Let me give you a little run down of how I work."
Raesh says, "Basically I get an idea in my head of generally where I want to go with a project."
Raesh says, "I let it roll around in my head for awhile while I work on other things actively."
Raesh says, "In a situation like this, part of that rolling around is throwing questions at you guys."
Raesh says, "I may or may not already have answers in my head."
Raesh says, "But your input sometimes sparks better ideas, or addresses something that was troubling me with my idea."
Raesh says, "Or lets me know that my answer is WAY off base with what the players want, and makes me reconsider."
Sithix says, "Alrighty, I must be off. There are raccoons that need squishing."
Raesh says to Sithix, "Squish em good."
Sithix says, "Always."
You say, "Well I've got something for the Kaldar v. Gorbesh issue:."
Sithix says, "Thanks for letting me listen in."
You say, "Well I've been thinking a lot about it and the Kaldar/Gorbesh thing has got to go. We need a definitive statement one way or the other."
You say, "If it was up to me I'd call em all kaldar (little k) and Kaldar (big K) and Gorbesh are just like saying Native american or Caucasian when referring to groups of humans."
You say, "But I really don't care how you do it, the limbo has to end. We need IG books defining it beyond a doubt."
Raesh says, "Biologically they're the same thing."
Raesh says, "There's only been about 500 odd years of seperation."
Raesh says, "So you're not talking giant biological changes."
Raesh says, "Culterally however... not at all the same thing."
Raesh says, "You're talking about a span of time roughly twice as long as American has been around."
Raesh says, "And you certainly wouldn't say an American and a Brit were the same thing."
Raesh says, "Though they do share some cultural traits."
Raesh says, "Anyhow, the question I'd like to get an answer to before we become even more informal."
Raesh says, "If you could have ONE thing for Kaldars."
Raesh says, "Big or small..."
Raesh says, "What would it be."
Parsala says, "An American could pass as a Brit and vica versa, if they wanted to."
Raesh says, "You only get one answer, and you don't have to answer now."
Raesh says to Parsala, "With some practice and study, yes."
Risty asks, "You want us to answer it at the forums or email?"
Aourn says, "Pointy, jaunty caps."
Broichan says, "Aye, a big question for me being relatively new to it all..."
Ricci says, "I'd like to see Kaldar strength emphasized but not in a Gor'Tog "brutish" way."
Raesh says, "Forums is fine, email if for some reason you're not okay with forums."
Aourn says, "Like in Robin Hood: Men In Tights."
Raesh says, "Answering now if you got an answer is also fine."
Raesh says, "Basically - there's a giant range of things we can do for Kaldar."
Raesh says, "And I'm kinda wondering what is the most important to people."
Ricci says, "Other than the togs we are the strongest of many of the races but we can do it with agility."
Akeyrr says, "A certain amount of wolfish grace."
Raesh says, "My gut says right now the thing Kaldar need most is lore."
Ricci says, "I'd agree."
Raesh says, "But that can take many forms."
Akeyrr says, "That too. Um- Stories."
Raesh says, "Events, Books, Shops, some little Town."
Ricci asks, "Are you looking to rehash old-lore or build new lore?"
Ricci says, "There's a difference there."
Raesh says, "A little of both."
Akeyrr says, "It seems to me that Kaldars would have a strong oral tradition."
Raesh says, "I'd like to do new things, since I think Kaldar need new things."
Raesh says, "But I want to say anchored in the existing lore."
You say, "I'd love to see a roving NPC that acts like the musparii story teller."
Raesh says, "Recons are okay, but they should be a plan B."
Raesh says, "*retcons."
Broichan says, "Yeah, retcons aren't very... smooth."
You say, "And yea, retcon the crap out of this race to make it all work in a cohesive story."
Raesh exclaims, "Point being if I ask this question and a bunch of people are like "We want verbs!"
Raesh says, "Well, then I'll strongly consider making verbs instead of focusing on lore."
Ricci says, "I'd rather see something practical other than cheesy verbs."
Ricci says, "I mean another character I've played is a human.. ask me how often I use snap."
Raesh says, "And if a bunch of people say "We want Kaldar only comp bows with Fade weapon stats that shoot ponies"..."
Akeyrr says, "Verbs are fun- But not really needful. We do have Act, after all."
Aourn says, "I'll take a verb that allows me to kill people with dirty looks."
Raesh says, "Well, then I get to run an event where I kill every Kaldar in the game."
You say, "Do it."
You say, "Even if we don't ask for unicorn comp bows."
Aourn says, "For reals."
Broichan's carob-coated groundnuts exclaim, "Don't do it!"
Aourn says, "Kill everyone."
Raesh asks, "Hmm. Kaldar only diseases are lorey right?"
Ricci says, "Even if it was that, I'd love to see some race specific minor events."
Raesh says, "Part of my job is to make sure you guys get some race related events."
You say, "But in all seriousness I think that focusing on lore will have the best return on investment."
You say, "Especially if it sets a framework for players to take off with stuff."
Broichan says, "Especially for a "newer" race."
Akeyrr says, "There is one thing about one of the verbs Kaldars already have that bothers me just a bit."
Raesh says, "That's what I'm thinking."
You say, "And of course make sure Kodius gives me the ability to make a kaldaran slaughtersword or whatever it was that went at that auction."
Raesh says, "That it makes the most sense to build a framework before we focus on the fluffy stuff."
Aourn says, "I'll take a slaughterbow."
Raesh asks you, "That'd be a sword that only slaughters Kaldar right?"
Raesh asks, "So what's the verb issue?"
Aourn says, "Or a mirror axe. I'll take one of those too."
You say to Raesh, "I thought so, but I couldn't afford it."
Ricci asks, "There's a kaldar verb?"
Akeyrr says, "According to the lore that's already in game, the Kaldaran are pretty much friendly with gnomes. But the Hail verb doesn't show that."
Aourn says, "Tease."
Raesh says, "Hmm. Seems like a simple problem."
Broichan says, "Oh yeah! Furtherdevelopment of the Kaldar-Gnome relationship could be interesting."
Aourn asks, "So if I kill you, can I have it?"
Ricci says, "I learned something new tonight."
Broichan says, "I was thinking that while reading some of the lore."
Raesh says, "We can fix that."
You say, "Well that's it for me I think. I'll clean this up and post it in the morning."
Raesh says, "If you want to get it fixed even better write some sample messages for Kaldar to Gnome on the forums."

Sorry I had to leave early last night. Was literally falling asleep sitting here.
It was good to meet you, Toad-boy. Looking forward to seeing what falls out of that rattling around in your head.
As for my one thing for Kaldarans, it would be the development of the clans/tribes concept, either through player design/lore contests, GM development, or a bit of both. Having spent the better part of the last five or six years developing Maulem's backstory, character, and even appearance to fit into my Mammoth Rider tribe theories, I really hope that clan development will become more than a backburner issue with us. Additionally, development of the tribes, I feel, will help to flesh out the history and lore of the race as a whole, and also further the distinction between Kaldarans and Gorbesh.
Again, good to meet you last night. I hope to be around for the afternoon session today.

Thanks for the log!
- I like the potential of clans, but that seems like a very long-term project for me. I like Raesh's idea of focusing on lore first. You have to crawl before you can walk, yeah?
- Questions of importance (in no particular order): religion, magic, nature, weapons, positions of leadership/influence, food, housing, clothing, why seemingly unmaterialistic people weave silk, sorcery, necromancy, race relations, views of heroism or personal honor... that's all I can think of.
- I'd love to see some synergy with the Gnomes. They should each have their own individual culture, but when two races share hundreds of years of cooperative history, warfare against common foes, and a cultural exodus to a new land, I have trouble imagining my Kaldar would grow up racially neutral towards Gnomes like he would with Gor'Togs or Elves.
- I'd love to see the Ocular make their way into the lore, and even into the actual game. That strikes me as something rather long-term, but they strike me as a storyline that would force players into situations heretofore unseen. What do you do when the guy manning the post next to you on the Crossing walls might be one of the enemy? The only analogy I can think of is Necromancers, but even then it falls short. Necromancers dwell among us, but once they're discovered they are outcast forever. What do you do when this hostile foe can change shape?

Re: Mini Meeting 2 on 08/22/2010 06:52 AM CDT
The power went off during my logging, and then my cable went out.. so here's what I got!
Raesh says, "She had to put up with it for a few weeks then Vardrin became the scape goat."
Raesh says, "I think it's Jhustis now who gets all the blame."
Tenebra says, "Heyo all."
Maulem says, "Perhaps, but you are the one in front of us. That'll teach ya."
Thatche says, "I admit nothing and deny everything. You know when in doubt blame the enxt guy."
Thatche says, "Hanryu for instance."
Thatche says, "Great scapegoat."
Raesh says, "Wow. I have a lot of junk in there, but no rope. Hmm."
Raesh says, "Alright, I think this is all we're going to get."
Thatche exclaims, "Ahoy!"
Raesh asks, "So, who wasn't here for last night's meeting?"
Eyuve says, "I did read the log though."
Raesh says, "That's what I thought. Fair bit of overlap."
You exclaim, "Guess I should stop hiding!"
Raesh says to you, "They were just discussing blaming you, so hiding might not be a bad idea."
You say to Raesh, "PAFO sucks."
Raesh says, "It does."
Raesh says, "That's why my motto is 'Storyteller'." (LOL here b/c this is my front end replacing some ridiculous cat-man word with something I can read)
Tenebra asks, "Die and find out?"
Garrosh quietly says, "Mmmmm pasta."
Raesh says to Tenebra, "Winner."
Thatche says, "I'm still curious as what I have got myself into."
Garrosh quietly says, "I knew it."
Maulem says, "Methinks I'm gonna prefer PAFO ta 'Storyteller'."
Garrosh quietly says, "You been killing people."
Raesh says, "Alright, so for the people who weren't at last night's meeting."
Raesh says, "I'm GameMaster Raesh - and I'm the new Kaldar Champion."
Maulem says, "And, a toad."
You say, "Hah I was trying to figure out why "Storyteller" is a bad thing."
Raesh says, "This is basically a little meet and greet with a dash of QC."
You say, "Then I remember I set up squelch/replaces."
Garrosh quietly says, "I guess i could go through min."
You say, "Hell at least I know what it means."
Garrosh quietly says, "Mine.."
Raesh says, "Right."
Garrosh quietly says, "I logged it as well."
Raesh says, "Anyhow - you're welcome to stay around and chat, or if you're like "There is no WAY I want to listen to this jerk babble about Kaldar!" the exit is in the lobby."
Raesh says, "It'll put you back right where you came from."
Thatche says, "I like it."
Raesh says, "Anyhow, not much to say about myself that hasn't already been said. For the sake of the new comers."
Raesh says, "I'm a Development GM, on team Lore."
Raesh says, "Currently I'm unofficially assigned to the Bards - so you can see a lot of what I'm up to over there if you're interested."
Raesh says, "I'm also the new Kaldar Champion, which is more of a Customer Experience type deal, but I like to branch out."
Garrosh quietly says, "He killed the skra champion.... so hes on the up and up."
Raesh says, "There are two important things to take away from that."
Raesh says, "Firstly, I can code."
Maulem asks Garrosh, ""There can be only one?"
Raesh says, "So if you want something built, assuming I can get it approved, I can build it."
Raesh says, "That's a good thing."
Tenebra exclaims, "Nifty!"
Thatche says, "Village."
Raesh says, "The bad thing is... I have several hats to wear, and some of them are in line already."
Tenebra exclaims, "Weapon shop!"
Thatche says, "Jack of all trades."
Raesh says, "So right now my focus for you guys, I believe, is getting to know you guys and playing a little round up with the lore."
Raesh says, "Finding out what has been decided and never announced."
Raesh says, "What needs to be written, that sort of thing."
Raesh says, "It's really a lot of paperwork shuffling."
You say, "Well that sucked."
Raesh says, "Sorry, had to fetch a stray."
Garrosh quietly says, "Amusing though."
Raesh says, "Alright, as for my plans on Kaldar."
Raesh says, "I don't really have grand plans yet, though I have a few nuggets of ideas."
Raesh says, "I'm sorta getting a feel for the land right now."
Raesh says, "I'm also totally swamped with coding projects until the end of the month at least, Hallow's Eve is quickly approaching."
Raesh says, "Generally though I think the focus at first is going to be on the Lore."
Thatche says, "Yeah that's fun."
Raesh says, "Setting up the Kaldar view on a few touchy issues, magic and such."
Garrosh quietly says, "So its a blessing and a curse that you can code."
Raesh says, "Establishing how Kaldar are and are not like Gorbesh and Big Humans."
Raesh says, "Indeed."
Raesh says, "I'd look for sometime early to mid next month for some events I have planned for Kaldar to start up."
Garrosh quietly says, "I did some reading on Kaldar's they seem to be almost to the point of samurai as it comes to military and or their point of views."
Eyuve asks, "By events, do you mean like GMNPC events or like get-togethers?"
Raesh says, "I mean like GMNPC events."
Maulem says to Garrosh, "Kaldar-AN's. Not Kaldars."
Garrosh quietly says, "Ok ok."
Raesh says, "Not gonna say much more about that yet."
Raesh says, "Just gonna say that's about the time line to start looking out for stuff."
Raesh says, "I think you'll know it when you see it."
Tenebra asks, "Is there a library heavy in Kaldaran lore anyplace in the lands?"
Raesh says, "If there is, I have not found it."
Raesh says, "Most of the books I've seen are heavily Alberian or Gorbesh themed."
Raesh says, "Which... is useful."
Raesh says, "But doesn't do a lot to define what exactly a Kaldar is these days."
Maulem says, "One day, when I stop being lazy, I'm going to write a book or two."
Garrosh quietly says, "Elanthipedia has a lil information for overall kaldaran's."
Garrosh quietly says, "Most is linked to gorebesh."
Raesh says, "Yeah."
Raesh says, "Which is somewhat like reading about the Renaissance to understand modern American society."
Garrosh quietly says, "But the information is worth knowinig."
Raesh says, "It is."
Garrosh quietly says, "It says why kaldaran's migrated and the profet who helped."
Garrosh quietly says, "I did my homework."
Raesh says, "But it doesn't actually answer a lot of the day to day questions people would like to know."
Eyuve says, "I made a little list of some of the questions that in particular I'd like to see."
Eyuve says, "See answered, that is."
Eyuve says, "You already mentioned magic, which is a big one."
Eyuve says, "And last meeting you mentioned the gods."
Raesh says, "Two very good questions."
Eyuve says, "In particular, this one is tricky for me, since it can be interpreted a lot of ways."
Eyuve says, "Maybe everyone who migrated was into the 13, or it might have been more of a mix. This would be really good to know."
Raesh says, "That's a valid question and one I'd like to answer."
Raesh says, "Right now I'm not in a position to answer it, but I did some digging last night."
Raesh says, "And I think I turned up some background information on the Kaldar that wasn't with the rest that should be helpful - but I don't have my hands on it yet."
Eyuve says, "Also, if it turns out we do get some more Albarian god love, I'd wonder if you would ever consider doing favors for them. You don't have to answer that now."
Raesh says, "Should have it in a few days hopefully."
Raesh says, "And if that doesn't answer the questions, I have no issues writing answers."
Raesh says, "I just want to make sure I don't end up saying one thing when everyone else on staff is saying another."
Eyuve says, "Finally, I'm a little confused on the language. There are some hints that Imperial Gorbesh is a little more fancy than what we speak now, and so it would be nice to have that settled."
Raesh says, "As for Albarian God favors..."
Raesh says, "That's going to depend largely on the answers to the other questions, and the favor system people."
Raesh says, "I'll admit it, I'm not a huge fan of the idea, but I'm not totally opposed to it."
Eyuve says, "I personally am not a huge fan of them being rolled in just like every other favor system."
Eyuve says, "If it were done, it would be nice if it were done differently."
Eyuve says, "I even almost like playing favorless, and would like to keep some of that element there. I can expound more on that on the boards though."
Raesh says, "Let's see, on the language issue."
Raesh says, "I'll have to ask Bartlebee - he's sorta The Man when it comes to languages and I'm just learning to deal with Gorbesh."
Raesh says, "What you see in the published dictionaries is about what I know about the language right now."
Raesh asks, "So... Garrosh was next?"
Garrosh quietly says, "From what I read about the Kaldaran people who stayed with old ways, they seem to be very heavy into military and priests/clerics are afforded positions of honor. but it never did specify in what ways or things of that nature. I would like to see a little more in depth explanation of the kaldaran people.."
Garrosh quietly says, "The lore and what not."
Garrosh quietly says, "Its very vauge."
Raesh says, "That is, in essence, the problem."
Raesh says, "There are some broad sweeping statements about Kaldar."
Raesh says, "But very few details that I've found so far."
Raesh says, "In a nutshell "The Kaldar were concerned that the Gorbesh had forgotten their roots and split off to live more in touch with nature". Okay... that can be taken a LOT of ways."
Garrosh quietly says, "Well gorbesh at the moment is what people think, because that in essence is what Kaldaran's are. they are gorbesh who left the empire to keep old ways alive.... thats just what I could gleen from it."
Raesh asks, "Did they totally trash their Gorbesh culture? Or just swap walls for rivers?"
Raesh says, "That sort of thing."
Garrosh quietly says, "You have your hands full."
Raesh says, "That's a large part of what I'm going to try and get answers to."
Maulem says, "The main things we know are of the Gorbesh, because they were the conquerors. Yet, in my mind at least, the Kaldaran peoples have always existed as well in Albaria, side by side. You just never hear of them because the victors write the histories."
Raesh says, "There was a definite split about 500 years ago."
Raesh says, "Where the Kaldar movement as it's known now started."
Raesh says, "If you're staying the Kaldar view on things always existed, that's possible."
Raesh says, "*staying the Kaldar."
Raesh asks, "Why can I not talk!?"
Garrosh quietly asks, "Your still working?"
Garrosh quietly asks, "You pulled us up at what 11pm last night?"
Garrosh quietly says, "Least eastern time."
Raesh says, "9pm my time."
Raesh says, "Midnight EST actually."
Garrosh quietly says, "Oh was it."
Garrosh quietly says, "God i need a life."
Raesh says, "Back to the point."
Maulem says, "I rather prefer to think that the Gorbesh could not have completely surpressed the Kaldaran thoughts and cultures. looking at what's known of the timeline, we essentially have the Luethra for a good bit of time, and then it jumps right to the Gorbesh."
Maulem says, "Sorry, I'm hijacking. Hushing up."
Raesh says, "S'okay."
Raesh says, "To my understanding the Kaldar, as Kaldar, did not exist before the split 500 years back."
Raesh asks, "Did the sort of thoughts and views on the world that Kaldar share exist before that point?"
Raesh says, "It seems likely."
You say, "That's not the way I read the lore."
Garrosh quietly says, "What i was interpreting kaldar have always been but they were gorbesh until i guess gorbresh when on the war path. and lost sight of their heritage.... but thats what i gathered."
You say, "The way I'd read is is that kaldar have always been around, just some went to live in cities and mass kill anything that wasn't a gnome."
Raesh says, "That's not how I read the timeline, but we'll see. Like I said apparently there's a bundle of documentation I haven't got my hands on yet."
Raesh says, "So who knows what the answers will be."
Raesh says, "And if they aren't there, I'll put em there."
Raesh says, "From the timeline though I see -100: Many Gorbesh in the West begin to feel they have lost their roots, and begin calling for a return to nature."
Raesh says, "And -95: Emperor Gotiez begins to grow suspicious of those now calling themselves Kaldar, fearing the growing support of their teachings."
Raesh says, "Which says fairly clearly to me that's the point where the Kaldar, as a collective, formed."
Maulem says, "Right, but...look at the Albarian Timeline (not the Gorbesh Imperial one)."
You say, "On the flipside somewhere it says that this group is "going back to the roots."
Maulem says, "Right about the time Xin'Alaudas was born, it seems to me that even the Gorbesh then were wild heathens, not much different from us."
You say, "And since the race is Kaldar... I just assumed Kaldar had always been around."
Raesh says, "I believe that's speaking of the Gorbesh roots."
Raesh says, "Before they became a military juggernaut."
Maulem says, "More natural, more nature loving. Etc."
Garrosh quietly says, "Battle sphere's."
You say, "Ah, ok, I certainly could have read it wrong."
You say, "Either way, more lore should help clarify it for slow folks like me."
Raesh says, "Biologically Kaldar and Gorbesh are the same thing."
Raesh says, "That's absolutely true."
Raesh says, "The differences are cultural."
Raesh says, "But as I mentioned last night, you're talking 500 years of divergence."
Eyuve asks, "Is there any chance of someone who wanted to play a Gorbesh getting that racial word replaced in the look?"
Raesh says, "So at this point they share roots but they may or may not be anything alike."
Raesh says, "No. And there's two good reasons for that."
Raesh says, "The first is that it would be practically... messy."
Raesh says, "The second is the RP reason."
Garrosh quietly says, "You would be hunted."
Raesh says, "Which is when random Joe sees you."
Eyuve says, "Hey don't look at me. I play a Kaldar."
Raesh exclaims, "He goes "Ah! A Kaldar who lives in the north lands with us!"
Raesh says, "When people look at you, even if you considered yourself a Gorbesh at heart."
Raesh says, "People will assume you're a Kaldar."
Garrosh quietly says, "If you did a poll currently you would find people still hate gorbesh."
Raesh says, "Someone who wanted to play a Gorbesh could correct them on the point and so forth."
Maulem says, "Because biologically, including overall general appearance, the two are the same."
Eyuve says, "Funnily, I keep running into people who assume my character is Gorbesh."
Garrosh quietly says, "Its pretty amazing actually."
Raesh says, "But it's the same way that if a Brit walks up to you in America, you usually assume they're American until you hear the accent."
Eyuve says, "Makes sense."
Garrosh quietly says, "I saw gorbesh outriders not long ago... on my brother."
Raesh says, "No comment."
Garrosh quietly says, "Ok."
Garrosh quietly says, "It caused mass hysteria in crossing."
Garrosh quietly says, "Pretty amazing actually."
Risty says, "Yeah. I saw one the other day in Lang."
Maulem says, "Dammit, I miss all th' fun."
Garrosh quietly says, "Just that kaldaran's are passed over as gorbesh but an outrider shows up and the entire military is mobilized and peoele run for the hills."
Garrosh quietly says, "For one outrider."
Maulem says, "A scout."
Raesh says, "I'm sure someone could make some interesting social commentary of that."
Raesh says, "Anyhow, these are all very valid points."
Raesh says, "And the exact sort of thing I'm talking about when I say I want to nail down some of that lore more clearly."
Raesh says, "We have the mixed blessing of a GIANT timeline with few details."
Garrosh quietly says, "Blank slate almost."
Maulem says, "A half finished game of Epic Hangman."
Garrosh quietly says, "Nice."
Raesh says, "Something like that, yeah."
Raesh asks, "It does feel like we've been given enough rope to hang ourselves, does it not?"
Garrosh quietly says, "Or hang everyone else."
Garrosh quietly says, "Could go either way."
Maulem says, "What are your thoughts on mammoths? Generally, I've always thought them an Albarian animal, though obviously some have been brough north of the Hand."
Raesh says, "Point."
Raesh asks Maulem, "They're great for dropping on people?"
Eyuve says, "At all kinds of times, apparently."
Raesh says, "Don't quote me on this, since I haven't researched it specifically."
Raesh says, "But I'd say your statement is basically right."
You say, "I'm just going to dissent in general on the mammoths are from albaria thing."
You say to Maulem, "Sorry bud."
Raesh says, "Mammoths aren't exactly a native critter to the north."
Garrosh quietly asks, "Why wouldnt they be?"
Maulem says, "Well, outside of that I mean. I have built pretty much all Maulem is on the thoughts that they exist in much greater numbers down there."
Raesh says, "Or at least if they are, it isn't in any area we know of yet."
You say, "I won't cry if I'm proven wrong."
Garrosh quietly says, "Kaldar's love cold enviroments wouldnt mammoths also."
Garrosh quietly says, "Just a observation."
Raesh says, "There is certainly a tie between mammoths and Kaldar and Gorbesh."
Maulem says, "Yes and no, I'd think. It would definitely depend on the source of available food for them."
Garrosh quietly says, "I wanna ride a mammoth."
Maulem says to Garrosh, "Get in line."
Raesh says, "Though a small part of me, a very loud, yet small and evil part of me."
Raesh says, "Wants to introduce Kaldar mounts made by gnomes."
Raesh says, "That are giant clockwork mammoths."
Garrosh quietly says, "Thats just scarey."
Garrosh quietly asks, "Will they randomly explode?"
Raesh says, "Driven by giant gears and steam pistons."
Eyuve asks, "Where's the verb for 'facepalm'?"
Garrosh quietly says, "Aha."
Garrosh quietly says, "Its facepalm."
Garrosh quietly says, "Go figure."
Garrosh quietly asks, "Sept it says her?"
Raesh says, "I kid. Mostly."
Maulem says to Raesh, "No need to go to such great lengths. I'd be perfectly happy with my own war mammoth, alive and well and rideable."
You exclaim, "Awesome found a bug!"
Garrosh quietly says, "Lil typo on the face palm."
Garrosh quietly says, "Dosent see our gender."
Garrosh quietly says, "Last i checked i dangle."
Garrosh quietly says, "I coulda lost it in a fight though so dont quote me."
Raesh asks Garrosh, "You realize facepalm isn't actually a verb right?"
Garrosh quietly says, "I gota poke at ya."
Garrosh quietly says, "Come on i almost got killed by sithix last night."
Raesh exclaims, "You didn't get sniped!"
Garrosh quietly says, "He wanted to."
Garrosh quietly says, "I called him a giant lizard."
Raesh says, "Mammoths."
Raesh says, "It's possible."
Raesh says, "I'll look into it."
Eyuve says, "Yay."
Garrosh quietly says, "That would be awesome."
Raesh asks, "Any other questions? Kaldar or otherwise?"
Eyuve asks, "Are racial feats totally dead?"
Eyuve says, "I remember that being on the timeline ages ago."
Garrosh quietly says, "I hope not."
Raesh says, "Hmmm. Racial feats."
Raesh says, "I think that was part of the old DR2 plans."
Raesh says, "Which had a LOT of stuff that never happened."
Eyuve says, "And frankly, that would probably be my 'one thing.'."
Garrosh quietly says, "Stores..... with battle spheres."
Raesh says, "I can't say it's dead, but I haven't seen anything recent involving them."
Raesh says, "Anything that has to do with the old DR2 plans I think we can say are... shaky at best."
Eyuve says, "Cold resistance, winter affinity, different stat and skill bonus/penalties... I was going to make a post ages ago but wanted to see if it was even remotely possible."
Raesh says, "Once we get the mech split done, and since necros are out."
Raesh says, "I think that's more or less the end of DR2 so to speak."
Garrosh quietly says, "I agree with eyuve."
Raesh says, "Of course most of the massive projects going on right now, I do believe we have official permission to start calling it DR3."
Raesh says, "So it's a new era for projects that no one would have even considered before."
Garrosh quietly says, "Lore states that kaldaran's detest magic but love combat bows and throwing."
You say, ".0 got to remember the .0."
Raesh says, "The magic issue is a sticky one."
Garrosh quietly says, "Can understand that."
Garrosh quietly says, "Very nice."
Maulem says to Garrosh, "Meet Fisahai."
Garrosh quietly says, "Ello Fisahai."
Eyuve says, "It's hard to play a Kaldar priest or prophet without magic, though."
Raesh says, "There ar ereasons it's sticky."
Garrosh quietly says, "It was saying that clerics are afforded position's of honor in the tribe though."
Garrosh quietly says, "But magic as a whole like warmages moonmages are frowned upon."
Garrosh quietly says, "Because its not pure or something."
Garrosh quietly says, "Was vauge on that point."
Raesh says, "Never mind that Kaldar migrated following a gnomish prophet."
Raesh says, "And let's check what guild most prophets come from."

Re: Mini Meeting 2 on 08/22/2010 07:28 AM CDT
Thanks for that, Hanryu.
I believe after your log ended Raesh went into a nice little analogy for magic involving politicians and family values. I.e., it may be the case that the Kaldar don't always practice what they preach ("magic bad"). He promised to resolve the issue with some lore.
My "one thing" -- I mentioned during the meeting that it would be racial feats. If this isn't feasible, my vote is for verbs. Because as badly as I want the lore, I can fudge enough of that on the spot easily enough (and no one bats an eye). However, I'd really like more ways to express my character that are distinctly Kaldar. They don't have to be Kaldar only verbs, but more verbs to express pride, disgrace, disgust, honor, strength, defiance, etc., would be great.
Lore questions already on the to-do list are magic, gods/favors, Kaldar vs Gorbesh, Kaldar vs Human, language (whether we speak Imperial Gorbesh or Gnomish, and more on the difference), and relationship to nature. Other questions I'd like answered are: general looks, diet, societal make-up (social roles and norms), and figures about Albarian geography (who lives where and in what climate?).
Also, if I can say, what was up with everyone having brown hair and tanned/weathered skin? Am I the only one who envisions the tall snowy people as pale and blonde? Or did I just miss a book somewhere?

Meeting Cancelled on 10/16/2010 05:50 PM CDT
Jerecis or Johnnythrasher had a schedule conflict and the Kaldar or Albarian meeting has been postponed.
I'd prefer the weekend for a meeting and typically I'm more of an early bird, and not a night owl.
Hopefully some others have a feel for what would work for them.

Yeah guys I'm really sorry about that. Kinda got roped into working, believe me I wouldn't have gone if I'd had a choice. Was nice that a few people got ahold of me about it though. I'd really like a bit of input as to what works for everyone in terms of scheduling but I'd like to get it set up inside of a month from now at least, so we can come to Raesh with some concrete ideas of what we'd like to see as far as development. I'd like to start inviting the Gnomes as well if we make this more of a regular thing but since it'll be a mostly Kaldar-dev thing for the first one it'll probably just be us. Look forward to hearing from everyone

For what it's worth... if you schedule it before the end of the month I'm fairly flexible, however if it's after the start of Nov I start a new job and my ability to attend will get a lot sketchier (At least during the hours you're likely to schedule it).
Of course, if you want to keep this an IC meeting (And I think that's the point? Sorry, I haven't gone back to check the initial post) you may not want a GM lurking around anyhow.

Heya,
I'm in a bit of an awkward spot this month, as I'm going on holiday for the next two weeks, followed immediately by moving to Norway.
That said, I should have internet access for at least the first week of my holiday (next week) and am willing to hop in for a meeting, and after I get to Norway (Nov 2nd) things will be back to normal. In both cases I'd prefer about 3-6 pm EST. I could also maybe do earlier.
Raesh, I think the idea is for it to be OOC, possibly followed by some IC meet and greet? Though it might be an idea to do the IC part first. In any case I'm sure you're welcome to attend the OOC part.

Alright well how about we try for Sunday, Oct 24th at 5pm EST and see if we can get numbers to show for it. Seems like the IC part would be best to start out but Raesh if you could make it to any of the meeting that would be wonderful, hopefully we're decent enough RPers that we can work around your presence. We'll host it in the clearing in Wolf Clan where Bella used to hold her meetings a couple years back. Really looking forward to seeing as many as can make it there. I'll try to set one up for late November as well that our Gnomish friends can attend, but we'll focus on Kaldar only for this one.

I'll try and remember to be there, though I'll be cramming for midterms. A location suggestion, why not the gorbesh fort north of Lang? No critters, and more of an Albarian-ish location.
Wolf Clan works for me too, but just thought I'd toss that out there.

Oh and Maulem I like the idea of holding the meetings at the Gorbesh Fort in Therengia and will probably shift the location there for later meetings, but don't want to mix it up the day before for this one.
