Generally I don't see too many problems except for the following:
Elotheans, S'Kra Mur: 5.75 - 6.25 feet male, 5.25 - 6 feet female
That may be fine for Elotheans. However, in the case of the S'kra Mur it is in error, as it has been known that among the S'kra Mur, the FEMALE is larger than the MALE.
I posted to that effect when Solomon first posted the link in error.
Please rectify.

Tessima, this may be a silly question, but I have to ask:
When members of two different races make a baby together, is the baby always one or the other? For example, it's been said that when a Human and an Elf have a baby, the child is always either entirely Human or entirely Elven. Is it similar when an Elothean has a baby with a Kaldar? Or is one race generally "dominant," or can you end up with something entirely different altogether?
Thanks,

Who cares... What I want to know is how much mech lore you learn for making babies and if you check exp often wile doing it does that penalize your overall gain? If you make babies with a race that is difficult for you does it grant a mech lore bonus?
See all these people thought mech was gonna stay boaring! Haa...

I see one of three options...
1. By that time there will be some 200th circle moonie enchantment to deal with time and space and methods to unravel and reweave it on some molecular level in tissue.
were when invoked it will make you 10 years younger. It will sell cheap 41 years from now and only run you like 200,000 plat.
2. Some uber high level Shift abality by then will be live. and cost a arm and leg.
3. Or there will just be some merchant with waters from the fountain of youth or something like that that sells you a vial for some obsene price.

So we can expect half elf/half dwarf or third human/third tog third elf characters to be "born" as new Player Characters? What kind of race bonus/penalties can we expect? With the crossbreeding possible from the race charts, this seems a logical next step. Maybe you could pick 2 or 3 races and the Character Generator would make a role based on how tough it is.

Half-Elf (Human-Elf)
Elf - +1 discipline, strength, stamina / -1 reflex, agility, charisma
Human - 0 across board
Half-Elf -- +1 strength, stamina / -1 reflex, agility
(grin)
Where does Pilf sign up to be a half-elf? (grin)

One of the problems I see with allowing this degree of interbreeding is that, by this logic, virtually every Human/Elf/Dwarf/Halfling/Kaldar/Rakash/Gnome/Eloth is going to be walking around with genetic heritage from every other one of those races. All it takes is one Eloth/Human couple to have a child, that child meets a nice Human boy/girl, they have some kids, and in several hundred years virtually every Human has an Elothean ancestor. Makes me want to go roll up a Tog.

I'm going to guess that half-breeds arn't on the horizon. Instead, the question will be about whether race is determined by...
Gender: If Mom is an Elf, you're an Elf.
Genetic Dominates: It doesn't matter of Mom is an Elf; Dad is a Human, and Human genes are pronounced.
Completely Random: You could be Human, Elf, or S'lai for Mom and Dad's troubles.

It's already been determined for Elves. If parent A is an Elf, and parent B is race X, any child will be born either 100% Elf, or 100% race X. Chances are basically random, with no real "dominance" occuring at any sort of consistency, and no regard to the race of grandparents or ancestors included anywhere.

I think that's the way it's going to have to be for everyone, based on the fact that, within the context of the game, you have to be ONE race. The problem is, I'm not sure what it means. Say your race X is Halfling. The gods flip a coin and the child turns out to be an Elf. Does this mean that the child can have no features of the Halfling parent? That doesn't make sense, because then he/she would be basically a twin (clone) of the Elf parent. So, you must be able to inherit features from both parents.
The only way I can see this working at all is for features from the Halfling parent to be integrated within the Elf "framework." So, you are an Elf, but your father was a Halfling who happened to be tall for his race. This would increase the likelihood that you are tall _for an Elf_. Crudely, the "tall gene" applies to your basic Elf mold. You could also inherit minor features that were consistent with your race. So, the Human child of an Elf with freckles and a Human could inherit freckles but not pointy ears.
Regardless, this whole interbreeding thing is an enormous can of worms.

If this information isn't accessible in game, it ought to be.
Informational posts have a nasty habit of disappearing into the ether every now and then, leaving me, and probably a bunch of other people, going 'Did they really say that or am I making it all up?'
Help races, perhaps, or something along those lines.

A suggestion: To combat the impending population explosion or until race combinations are determined, and everyone figures out what skill "making babies" uses, might I suggest the eager breeding population keep a sphere of protection scroll handy for just such emergencies.

Erm.. have you noticed all the freaky multiracial couples floating around the realms PRIOR to this chart??? I think this chart is wonderful because instead of arguing whether or not a prydaen and a s'kra can mate... there's no arguments. ;)

Yeah, I noticed them. I never believed they could procreate though, with a very small number of possible exceptions.

> Elves are immortal in Middle Earth, not in Elanthia. Here, they die.
With the new info, this is true. Under the rather limited "old" info, DT's impression that they just faded when they got tired was quite understandable, since pretty much all the (rather limited) in-game information pointed that way. I'm still a bit disappointed in the change, simply because it's so contrary to what the in-game information has led folks to believe all these years. If it had been that way all along, it'd be one thing, but unfortunately, it wasn't.
