Was thinking about how life energy is drawn from chaos and order, and came up with a couple of title ideas. The first one is the idea, and the other two I just thought of to try and give the other sides of it - I'm sure someone can make those better.

Chaos Mage
At least 300 Primary Magic
At least 300 Harness Ability
At least 300 Power Perception

Balance Mage
At least 300 Primary Magic
At least 300 Harness Ability
At least 300 Power Perception

Order Mage
At least 300 Primary Magic
At least 300 Harness Ability
At least 300 Power Perception

Nice, I like, how about just Balance, that'd be a great post title.

Something like...
Reflex/Agility > 40
Survial Average > 300
Weapon Average > 300 (top 3 as counted for circling)
Magic Average > 300

Meh, I'm no good at this stuff. Just gimme some weapons to catalog or a spreadsheet to manipulate...

We definately need to get some new titles. Anyone feel like going through this folder and compiling a list (you can call it a spreadsheet if you want Hanryu...you know you want to) of all the titles that have been suggested that we don't have yet. Then maybe we can throw some new titles on top of that.

I'll go grab all the Ranger books I can find from my DnD days and see what comes to me later today too.

Clerics just got a brand new batch, this is the perfect time to ask for some!

As I recall, this is already in the works...but they've almost been done for several months. From what was previously said by Paklin and Daethar, there will be lots...

...any chance of a preview if either of you are reading this?

I believe I heard the titles were in QC, but that may have been a pipedream.

Everything is in QC...it seems to be a graveyard more than a helpful stage in idea processing.

A few titles I found based off of positions in England's forest law. Would be good for someone looking to be a Ranger in the service of a province. Surveyor might already exist.

Verderer - investigated minor offences in forests and dealt with day to day forest administration. Protected vert (flora) and venison (game) in the royal forests.
Woodward
Agister - officers of the forest charged with collecting fees for pasturing cattle in the king's forests.
Surveyor - determined boundary of king's forest
Regarder - investigated encroachments on the forest and invasion of royal rights
Justice of the Forest - highest magistrate in forest law

Yea, I just might have to do that. My computer went all melty on me though, and I'll be in Germany for the next 2 weeks, so it'll be a while.

I like the Forestry Law titles. Couple more...
Will of Elanthia
Nature's Will
Forest Ward(en)
Woodland Warden

I think I've seen Forest Lord and Warden before, now I definitly see the need for a full list of suggestions and actual titles...

I'd also like to spearhead the fight to get Guardian back where it belongs. Who do we have to start an e-mail campaign to?

Guardian went from a 90th Ranger title to a 10th level paladin title. Is it even that high? I was disappointed even though I rarely bother with a title.

Which means there is still time to tack in a few new ones. Plenty of time if we all know how quickly QC moves. To thought, to thoughts!

I've been wanting to do this every since it was stripped from me.

One thing I don't like seeing is 100 different versions of Hunters, and Wardens in ranger titles. Starts to seem mundane and lacking in horizon. Although, lately there have been many custom titles that I'm surprised weren't planned to be ranger titles.

<One thing I don't like seeing is 100 different versions of Hunters, and Wardens in ranger titles.>

This is a intresting point of view, when i look at the diffrent versions of the title, what comes to my mind is exactly what the Ranger Guild is diffrences among the ranks.

If I was to compare just the skills of the 100th circle rangers now which are about 10 or 15, there would be a huge diffrence in what we all specialize in. When it comes to survivals. I mean there is a general similairty, but some have low swimming and climbing compared to those with 700 or 800 climbing and swimming because that is what they like to train. Some have 500 scouting others still have scouting in the 300's. Some have insane amounts of skinning others have a decent amount not that much though.

So when i see the diversity titles, like the suggested Arc Hunter Title and Shade/Shadow Hunter the suggested skills for these I do believe were widely diffrent. One being super combat orient the other being super hiding/stalking oriented with a lesser degree of combats.

While it may seem a bit mundane I always envisioned Rangers as one of the most diverse Guilds around Elanthia. I've seen Offensive Rangers who have the skills for the quick kill, Survival Rangers some who have crappy combat but do nothing but survivals all day and are happy with that, Rangers who strive to maintain Balance, others have insane amounts of Lore, or Magic skills, others focus heavily on defenses and ignore survivals and offenses most of the time, and those odd few who train survivals most of us wouldn't bother with to insane amounts, (escaping) which takes a lot of time and dedication to a boring area to see results in.

Anyways my point is, I've rambled enough. Rangers having diverse titles would only enhance the guild to show what the true nature of Rangers. We don't all have the same skills. A vast majority might have killer Hiding, but not stalking, Some have both and others well their hiding and stalking pretty much stink but they are great in other respects.
