What hive mind? Since its inception DR's community been a minority of small cliques hurling barbs at each other. Most players don't even talk. It's just the social structure actively promoted by the game.

<DR doesn't have a whole lot of people playing it any more. Sure, it's way too easy to make a F2P alt to agree with yourself. But going on witch hunts is really not conducive to good public image, guys.

I agree. I think people are very passionate about the game and they misconstrue someone having a different take on an aspect of the game that is so totally alien from their own and their peers in such a fundamentally basic way that it solicits nothing but derision.

However the community is so much more than hostility and cynicism based sole on differences.

There is a difference between a different opinion and some one repeatedly attacking other players, the gms, and in some cases the game as a whole. Repeated accusations of wrong doing based on some warped sense of what really happens because a person, regardless of their characters stature, has no really experience in the game or with the people they are accusing. Blatantly disrespecting, and disregarding others opinions, or knowledge based on actual experience, and then backpedaling and claiming to be the one disrespected or "bullied" to make it not their fault because some one else totally misunderstood them. Some one creating multiple accounts to argue a point, or agree with themselves because no one else does...

As a community, even those of us that don't necessarily "like" each other, there has been a solid consensus that this behavior is not something we appreciate or condone. It is not "we can say mean things but you can't" or us against some one else, it is we love this game, appreciate the GMs and the work they do even when we don't really like it 100% of the time, and recognize that there are flaws in the system, but at the end of the day we won't tolerate that kind of awful behavior and when some one creates that pattern, we react.

It is not witch hunting when there is a pattern of that behavior and it pops up again and again. When a "new account" type person falls right into it, well, it is hard to believe that they are not that same person doing exactly what they always do and lying about it just like every time before. I am not presuming to speak for the entire community, but I don't think I am far off from how most of us feel about the situation, and if I am then I apologize and you should keep on acting like the giant turd you seem to enjoy being. But, maybe, since you seem to recognize that there is a pattern in the way folks react to you, it might be time to assess that and take some responsibility for it, as opposed to pointing at everyone else.

I am sorry to disappoint you, I am not upset. I was simply trying to explain where the attitude would come from by pointing out YOUR own actions and how OTHER people might feel like that behavior is a little unbalanced. I didn't expect you to cop to your own actions, because that would some how be like taking responsibility for the things you have said and done. Your self-depreciating admission to not being good with diplomacy, while trying to assign emotions to me and others is sad. YOu very obviously feel picked on or at and unappreciated for your opinions, and I am sorry you have not found the right audience to bow down to your obvious greatness. (except for yourself, you TOTALLY agree with you, imagine that!) It would take a complete dunderhead to think that our interactions IG have resembled anything remotely close to RP, that is not being unskilled, it is being completely ignorant of the concept if that was truly what you were attempting. While you think of ways to explain to me how I am wrong, you are right, but so not perfect and misunderstood, and I am a little right while being totally wrong, I am going to go back to politely ignoring you because my time is much better spent on things and people that are not ego-maniacal dunderheads.

I can totally understand the whole witch hunting thing. I was accused OOC of being someone's alt several weeks ago. I'm not even sure what I'm supposed to do about that, but it's a crappy feeling. And, no, I wasn't even conversing, I was very kindly healing some person who had requested it immediately after they asked, so...?

Lets rein the arm chair psychoanalysis a little here dude. The point here is that you of all people shouldn't be complaining about use of alt accounts for continuing to stir up slapfightery in multiple places. Multiple people across multiple mediums have brought this up, so playing victim at this point is real constant, not 'maliciously dehumanizing other players'. If you want this behavior towards you to stop, as again has already been pointed out to you, you should ask yourself if your behavior/actions have anything to do with things.

As with the last time this was said to you, you probably will try and shift the blame to someone else. So, still yet, round and round we go.

If instead they're being witch hunted because your actions and the actions of other like minded 'people' who may or may not be your alt accounts have stirred everyone else up to the point of taking pot shots at anyone who seems like they're probably you, then it's your actions that should be condemned and hopefully ceased.
