I'm not sure if this would go here, or in Ilithi events so I flipped a coin.

During the event last night in Shard, in the middle of triage, I missed what Szrael meant with her brief interaction with Bahbtahrol. I didn't save a log so I am not sure what the specifics were, but I just remember wondering "huh, what does that mean". If you remember and you have the time, would you fill me in?

Thanks,

Szrael was correcting him on the use of Lyras' name for her undead Rakash general. (Klusarlaik means "Death" in Rakash, and isn't really a name at all). Szrael wanted him to use the name "Dzive" which means life in Rakash, because it is though that using that name would help her break free of Lyras.

Now the point is moot because she did break free, or at least was released by Lyras, and is supposedly no more.

You grip the oversized book hanging from your leather belt and survey the area with a hint of malice in your eyes.

With a violent cross-body motion, you draw your oversized book.

To add a bit of lorewonkery to it:

In Moon Mage lore, names are powerful. They embody and symbolize the identity of something. To name something is said to impose your version of meaning onto it; it can both define and change something. Names are so powerfully symbolic that the Naming Ritual is what allows your average Moon Mage to utilize Grazhir shards; without the patterns of their names being memorized using them to navigate is nearly impossible.

Cael proposed that people start calling her "good" half Dzive because she thought that by naming it, it would become more powerful, and provide an anchor to help her resist. I was pleasantly surprised to see how eager people were to run with it, and I think it's pretty cool the GM went along with it too.

Rev. Reene

Reene: tie a scimitar to your fist.
Kystrk: that would just be unrealistic
Reene: because jump kicking someone from hiding and vaporizing their skull is super realistic
Kystrk: I was wearing footwraps
