As long as we're all giving opinions . . .
What does everyone think about the QUOTE section of the PROFILE verb? Is it supposed to be an IC/IG quote? Or can it be OOC?
My view is, the PROFILE verb is itself OOC so I can put an OOC quote. I wanted to know what everyone else thought.
My RP is set to heavy, so basically I just don't want to get caught in an embarrassing RP situation having to answer someone about who the hell is Winston Churchill or whoever else it is I'm quoting.

'Profile' verb, is it in character? on 09/05/2010 03:30 PM CDT
About the 'out of character' tools, like the death list, log on tracking of npc's, and profile. How much of this is known to my character, in game, and under what pretense?
Have latent gweth radiation linked all of our minds on some subconcious level so I know when you wake up, and what your wearing, and if the Great Mages will smite me for attacking you? I've been in a few NPC events over the years, and we all know when they log in, and if they have a profile...should we? Does my ranger know that it's not a 'real person' because there's no profile? If YOU haven't filled your profile, are YOU not a real (IN GAME) person??? Troubling spiritual issues indeed...

I regard the entire profile as OOC information, because profiles do not exist as far as your character is concerned.
Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall rank!

Profiles are OOC as well as in game assists and who is online (unless a locate or familar finding is attempted).
Also saying 'it won't let me pick that up' is OOC. It what? This is in the context of people trying to pick up something that someone else drops. The sword won't LET YOU pick it up? Saying that is no better than saying aloud, 'the ownership timer won't let me pick it up.'
Gosh, I have no idea why you think that the person you told "I'm going to kill you over and over for that when I get back up" continues to make your life miserable. - DR-Wiking
