Does anyone have a suggestion for a storebought ME backstabber? Right now, I'm in the crossing and hunting trollkins and ghouls. I've been using a regular rapier. I was also wondering how the exp works for backstabbing. Is it based on damage done?

Yes. Although like a normal weapon, you start learning less when the creature is no longer a challenge (soft cap - hard cap territory).
Also, you can learn backstab from ambushing. Attack <bodypart> from hiding. For this, exp depends on both damage and difficulty of the body part - leg is easy, eye is hard.

Best ME storebought backstabber hands down. I've found no real large difference between using it, and a forged sabre.

the acid-etched is a good choice, as is the vicious rapier, theres also a fairly decent one sold in muspar'i- starts with Y.... i forget the full name.
