I've never played a trader beyond 5th circle, and do not pretend to know the class even in the slightest, but with the recent introduction of trader owned and operated stores and trader run tables in a bazaar setting I feel the following suggestion may have some merit and offer a sense of gamble and enjoyment.

This feature to traders could be unlocked at a high level and would involve a trade of coin for a chest that would have random generated contents. Sometimes the contents may be worth the coin or it could be a bust.

Picture the following scenario:
Trader proceeds to the docks of a major shipping city (Crossing, Riverhaven) and walks the piers to peruse the newly docked and unloading cargo vessels. A wink or a nod to a first mate could get you the chance to speak with a captain who would broker the exchange. 100 platinum kronars for a chest full of oddities and such that they have collected on their most recent trade route. The trader agrees, money exchanges hands and the chest is off loaded and delivered to the traders store for sorting. None of this is necessarily illegal, and if the trader feels the haul is not worth the coin spent then they could attempt to involve the authorities, but it was a deal made and not much could really be done.

This feature would work most effectively in Crossing and Riverhaven, though it could be adapted to a land route trader as well. You could employ the caravansary or various way stations across the realms. Their could be inns or taverns based on the type of inventory and product you're hoping to procure that would be frequented by caravan operators or boat captains.

The reason I feel this suggestion could bring a new outlook into the game is because it could provide an outlet for rare and never seen before items to be offered on trader tables, could recirculate some of the lesser seen items in the game. These items would be coming from a source that only traders had command of, rather than festivals where a majority of the products available can be purchased by anyone.

I would be interested to see a traders outlook on this or anyone's for that matter.
