I've got a question for Traders who run IP contracts - if you're on the gondola heading towards Shard, is there enough time to stop at Fayrin's and SCC for a couple local contracts and still make it to Shard and then back to the gondola before it leaves again? There's obviously plenty of time if you don't end up getting a contract to Darkling Wood - but what I'm wondering is if there is enough time to head all the way out there if you do get that contract. I just tried it and when I got back to the platform it said the gondola had just left the platform (ouch!). But I also wasted some time because I wasn't sure how to get the caravan to lead thru the 30 second RT region and I fumbled around a bit trying to find the outpost out in the steeds area.
So does anyone know if it's possible to get off the gondola, stop in Fayrin's, stop in SCC, head to Darkling Wood, then Shard and back to the gondola and catch the next one that comes back? Assume that it's nighttime out and I'm not a citizen of Ilithi (but that I figure out what I'm doing to get to Darkling Wood faster).
Also, how do you make the caravan lead thru that 30 second RT spot?

Ride a horse, no 30 second RT with one.
I might be mistaken as I never finished doing my times for the southern area of the world, but I recall the gondola having varying crossing times due to whether it sticks or not which it is want to do on occasion. Like 6 minutes to upwards of 13 minutes to cross with no real way to plan a round trip effort with such randomness in timing.
Someone want to clock the times after a few gondola rides and verify this or prove it false, please do. I'm busy running around Zoluren right now, for that matter, I'm tired of testing things anyways.
Oh, again, use a horse.

Im not making it up, its been talked about alot, but I dont think anyone has done any testing. I suspect its true though, since you can only cram 4 caravans into the gondola at a time, and that some GM thought it was a "good idea" at the time(IPs werent popular when Shard was released, so I dont know if it was original coding, or somthing stuck in there to annoy us later on :) ).

If while on the Gondola you can notice the difference. Alone with no Caravans you dont get the stuck in the middle with the SNAP and feel like your falling then stabalizing, the Elven woman come moaning, and some other things. Add in a Caravan or two you start seeing these things and the time adds on. Though I've never officially Timed it, using some of the things I do to amuse myself (juggling) I noticed that I was there longer by how many iterations I did.

The SNAPing and ghost happen only at night, so if you travel during the day, you go straight through with no delays, but if you travel at night, you get that pause in the middle.
I have never before heard that having caravans on the gondola slows it down. I suppose it is possible...
