Here's an idea that a few friends and I have come up with, to help out young mages.
1. Circle 10 and above would take on an apprentice, no more than 2, and must take an apprentice to reach circ 30; they would be loyal to eachother until the teacher felt that the apprentice is worthy of our guild, or until circ 9, or terminated by the governing board.
2. A points system could be worked out to reward the teacher for taking his or her time to teach a youngster. The apprentice's reward would be the knowledge gained.
3. The apprentice would follow the rules given by the teacher (within reasonable means)and follow the recommended training. However, the apprentice is not a slave or pack mule.
4. Complaints would be taken to the governing board

Now my argument: When I was young, I had a REALLY hard time figuring things out, and for that, feel as if I am not what I could be, skill wise. This idea would give all young mages the option but not requirement, to have the knowledge of those wiser than he/she passed on to them. There would still be diversity in the guild, but it would be a more unified diversity. Each party would benefit, if we could get it going the right way. Right now, I am looking for volunteers to try it out, (the only rewards at this time, would be knowledge gained and honor.) Also looking for some to help with an ideas committee. FEED BACK PLEASE!!
