I was trying to use Naphtha today, but I cannot figure out how to ignite it.
According to this link, one just splashes it on the target and then hits the target with a fire based spell: https://elanthipedia.play.net/mediawiki/index.php/Naphtha
I splashed it on a wood troll and then hit it with:
- Fire Shard
- Fire Ball
- An ignited quarterstaff
None of them set the troll on fire.
What am I missing?
Also, if I use a summoned weapon and shift it to fire, would that also ignite my target (assuming it is doused with naphtha and I land a hit)?
Are there any corporeal creatures not susceptible to Naphtha?
Thank you.

When you splash the troll with naphtha, you hit a particular body part. You then need to hit the same body part with the fire to ignite it. It might help to use fine targeting.

No idea. Good thing to test.

I would imagine creatures with heavy amounts of fire resistance would be poor choices for naphtha, but I don't know if they'd be flat out immune or not.

There's a few things that don't burn- rock stuff, skeletons, a few element immune things etc... The messaging says that it doesn't harm them, also I think MOA won't flare too.

Yeah! Ignite, Fire elelmental weapon, burning logs too!
Any spell that does fire damage(does LB still?), arc light ignites napatha on the head, MOA (initial cast) ignites the chest, MOF brawling moves too! Burning Charcoal used to work too, it may be too light now... I thinks that's all we have without using another guild's spells.
Also depending on the portion thrown or whatever, it can spread to nearby body parts. Mostly it eats at armor and stamina now, but critters automatically prone themselves and roll it out, so that can be handy. Also I don't think it works on a lot quest boss characters? Even if it's not nearly as effective as it was.
Supposedly there'll be new craftable super-napatha eventually.
Someday, Imma make a repeating exploding napatha bottle launcher with a magic-targeting lock-on scope...
