I was just curious as to everyone's opinion on this spells usefulness, damage it deals, preps and combat situation uses for critters or PvP, I'm considering getting it on how cool it sounds alone.

I got Mark of Arhat a few days ago and have been thoroughly enjoyed blowing off random limbs. The head is, of course, my favorite. All that is left behind is the pulpy stump. I even got to enjoy watching a Gryphon stumble around for a few seconds without a head.
I noticed that the Mark dissipates after the head/limb is gone. I thought "It's a shame the mark doesn't stay on those pulpy pieces scattered across the room. Wait, I should suggest that..."
As the magic system is changed and more spells are given secondary/tertiary effects, it would be cool to see MOA have an AOE type effect. I've tacked on a few different ideas about what this might mean. After the limb is turned to mush:
1. The room is able to be heated causing fire damage to those in the room.
2. The room is able to be heated causing slower fatigue recovery. (Like a hot lazy Sunday)
3. Those in the vicinity of the target, melee or pole of the target or whatever the target was engaged with, have a chance of having the pulp splattered on them, and that being able to do the little bit of damage corresponding the the amount of marked flesh they have on them.
Sure, maybe the mark being broken apart might have to end the spell, I'm not familiar with the necessity of maintain the geometry of a sigal, or if the mark is not held to spacial correspondence. I'd assume that mana would have to be harnessed to have an additional effect. And I'd expect ES and barrier spells to provide some/complete protection.
Just a thought.

Opposite direction, actually. We've been moving away from Swiss army knife spells for years and our current work isn't a change of course.

Maybe MoA could become a real DOT spell instead of a clunky held mana spell?
And get at least one pulse if the target leaves the room?
