My Targetted Magic is at 153 and its significantly harder to train then any of my other skills.

I am hunting blue belly crocodiles on the north road, mainly because the mana is excellent in there and they seem to train my defenses, weapon, and TM decently well. I use Aether Lash, preped at 6 with an additional 10 harnessed. It seems to work well, at least up until 153, where i cant get it past thoughtful.

I know that many say snap casting Gar Zang and similar tier 1 spells with a minimum prep is the way to go, but it never seemed to work out well for me.

I am circle 39, so Chain Lightning is right around the corner..hope it gets better

Any suggestions?

Kra'hei hatchlings, pirates, small peccs in Lang should all work to move your TM. I used aether lash against hatchlings and pirates to train at that level. Depends on your defenses. There might be other options, too, but those are the ones I know.

I was really hoping to fight Atik's and Westies within the Gate of Souls soon (I dont know why, I just like the idea of hunting in there), but the Young Firecats within the Gates are incredibly more powerful than the ones outside in the Skeleton's Crook (I am not sure WHY!)

That being said, perhaps I will move to Peccaries. I am not a fan of that area, preferring to stick close to the Crossing, but I am running out of options

Thank you for the advice!

I dunno what your other skills are like, but you could venture to P5. That place is a great advancement area. You should be able to get your TM moving in Bloodvines, tho if your defenses are slacking the swarms might get you. If thats the case you could hunt Tress up there. They do not swarm much, have crazy stamina and cap out around 180. The Dryads and Nyads are up above those, then finally Ogres. I went there with 150 in TM and left with around 220. From there gryphons will please you. Atleast they have with me. Went from 220 TM to about 400 rather quickly and it is still training.

Wanting to stay in crossing? Thats a tough one there is not a big base of mid sized critters around there. Would be why most of the WM's sit at the guild all day lecturing each other. There are a few but you will have to train up in other provinces to hunt safely.

Training TM. CL is great if you have the mana and the skill. When i first got it i noticed my mind pretty much freezing up because all of my magics were locked up hard. Right now i usually use CL to clear out a room if it gets too crowded, ALA still works perfectly.
I keep my TM locked for hours hunting using ALA and keep my other magics moving quickly without things getting too murked up.

But if you have questions on what to hunt i usually use

http://www.drplat.com/

Click on critters it will ask you for your offense and defense skills and give you something in your range. Its not 100% accurate but it is a great tool to have.

Hope that helps.
