Well, in the case of biological type families..

Young Biological Children: If you a would-be parent seeking a child, you post asking for someone who is willing to play a young child. Usually the parent wants to catch this character BEFORE they are rolled up so that they can specify race, features among other things. I mean, especially if it is going to be a young child you want them to be Guildless, after all, I really don't think that the Guilds would accept five-year olds. Best to include depth of role-play you are seeking and how much of a time commitment you are looking for.

Adopted Children: Or...you post asking for interest if someone would like to be adopted by you, and whether that includes a place to live, good meals, an apprenticeship, and if you are looking for a certain guild or race. Best to include depth of role-play you are seeking and how much of a time commitment you are looking for.

Long-Lost Children: Posts specifying race, features, gender, age, Best to include depth of role-play you are seeking and how much of a time commitment you are looking for.

Children Looking for Parents, Siblings, and other Relatives

Post on the boards including your character's race, gender, features, Guild, age, where they were born, and what you are looking for.

Are you looking for your long-lost biological parents?

Are you looking to be adopted? If so, would you prefer to be adopted by those of your own race so that you can become or remain strongly connected with your own culture.

Are you looking for a brother or sister to be a friendly companion with, to hunt with, to laugh with, to fight with? Are you looking for them to be your biological sibling or just someone so close to you that you consider them your sibling. Does Guild matter at all? Many times providing a circle range is a good thing, especially if you are looking for someone to hunt with.

And..as always..Best to include depth of role-play you are seeking and how much of a time commitment you are looking for.

This is the way they are formed by those looking for anyone. Many times people just know people from other characters or are friends with others who play the game, so they'll arrange everything previously.

If you are looking for family, give as much information as you can about your character and about what you are looking for. Talk about the character's personality, likes, dislikes, ..how connected they are to their races' culture, or if they WANT to be more connected.

When searching for family or creating a backstory, it is good to have the basics about racial anatomy. What I mean by this is, if you're looking for your real parents and your character is a Prydaen ...your parents can't be anything else BUT a Prydaen. If you happen to folks of other races reply, gee, they might be very nice..but if you start calling them your real biological parents in the game, you are just flying in the face of the rules.

Here is the information...
