MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP MEETING - March 4, 2013

NEW MEMBERS INDUCTED: Radianze and Gharr were inducted into House Sovyn. We welcome them to our House and wish them all the best.

TREASURER’S REPORT: As of last week, we have 227,193,683 silvers in the house coffers, and we currently have 90 IPs (Influence Points).

Helping Hands: A date has not been set yet.

Fishing Pond:

On March 24 at 2:30 Elven, we are going to celebrate the arrival of our new fishing pond with a tournament.

We don't have any special House equipment yet, but soon we should get some. We will have some supplies though.

Joint Event with House Brigatta:

In May, (Ivastaen), House Sovyn and House Brigatta are planning something...quite unique. We are trying to put together a Mass Wedding to celebrate spring and to honor Oleani.

The mass wedding will be for those who are not as fortunate enough, or patient enough, to have a wedding prepared by the gods. We have also thrown in the plan that at some point during the ceremony, we will attempt to commune with Oleani herself so we can try and get her to bless the wedding couples.

The event is tentatively scheduled for the May 19th, which is one day before the Festival of Oleani.

Arkati Quest:

A discussion was held about our house event entitled Arkati Quest to be held in June. Azona will be chairing this event and will have more details later. For now, the event will be a themed scavenger hunt. Clues for scavenged items will be given. There will be a prize for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Azona will need help from our members to man the stations for the hunt.

Veola Hairpiece Contest:

The deadline for your design entry is March 23.
Eruheran discussed amending the grand prize to being either receiving the first copy of the hairpiece or the silver equivalent. No decision was made at this meeting.

Here are some design notes about the hairpiece itself:

This item is designed to display a gem or feather. The tricorn has three distinct descriptions, one when empty, a second when a gem is inserted, and a third when a feather is inserted. To insert an item, hold the tricorn in one hand, the item you'd like to insert in the opposite hand and PUSH tricorn. PULLing the tricorn will remove the hairpiece and restore the tricorn to its empty description. It has been fully unlocked and has the following verbs available: TWIST, TAP , ATTEND, NOD and SHAKE.
When worn, it will temporarily alter your hairstyle and supports up to three custom hairstyles in addition to the default setting.
To change between the available hairstyles, hold the item in your hands and TURN it.
When altering these items there is some important information to keep in mind. First, this item belongs to the HAT group and may only be altered in one of the following nouns: Hat, Cap, Tricorn, Tricorne, and Capotain. And while each side is highly customizable, both the noun and material do need to remain the same for all three sides.
Or - This item is of the HEADBAND group. Its approved nouns are: Headband, Diadem, Circlet, Tiara, Crown, Garland

The three groups are: barrette, headband, and hat.
barrettes can be: Barrette, Haircomb, Fascinator, Cockade, Ornament, Headpiece, and Ribbon(s).
Headbands can be: Headband, Diadem, Circlet, Tiara, Crown, and Garland
Hats can be: Hat, Cap, Tricorn, Tricorne, and Capotain

The default hairstyle for each is:
Hat: She has rich, copper-infused henna red hair and an argent-edged black silk velvet tricorn worn at a rakish angle.
Headband: She has rich, copper-infused henna red hair pulled back with a trio of narrow cocoa-toned leather headbands, leaving her side-swept bangs to brush across her temples.
barrette: She has rich, copper-infused henna red hair parted to the side and pinned back with an oval alum filigree barrette backed in dark green kelyn.

Basically, what you need to submit is:
The three "sides" (empty, gem, feather) and up to three additional hairstyles. So, 6 things.
Here is an example (this is what we submitted for another prize closet item):

a wavy sterling silver barrette affixed with small golden sovyn flowers
a wavy sterling silver barrette inlaid with a mosaic of <gem> slivers
a wavy sterling silver barrette with a trio of <feathers> trailing from thin silk ribbons
<hair> pulled over the shoulder into a side ponytail and clasped with a <barrette>
<hair> tied into a low messy bun and pinned with a <barrette>
<hair> that falls free save for two loosely braided strands pulled back from the temples and fastened with <barrette>

You can submit up to three designs. Designs do NOT have to be House-themed, but can be if desired. Please send submissions to Sovyn-Officers@yahoogroups.com.

Again, submissions are due by March 23rd; we will submit the winner's item with our Q1 quarterly report. The winners will be chosen by the House officers and be announced by April 1st.

Music Room Renovation:

We are currently working towards renovating the music room into a ballroom. We plan on keeping all of the furniture and basic atmosphere of the room but making it a bit fancier. There will be a nice, fancy new chandelier in there too, that will help provide members with a way to strike up the music.

House Consignment Shop:

Eruherin wanted to remind everyone about our house shop. Upon entering the shop area,, it is located three north on Ebonwood Way, then three east on Monir Road. It is a large brick-faced store.

Consignments can be given to any officer for placement in the shop. The House will receive 10% of all sales. There is also a 3% sales tax on all purchases for the Town.

Leyann will be making 100% chrisms for sale in our shop.

House Officer Elections:

Elections for House officers are starting to come into the picture in June on the summer solstice. Notes will be sent out later about how to run for an office position. There are no terms limits for officers but elections are still held.
