What if I find a "he" - but I want a "she"?

Do I just keep looking? Nearby? Farther away?

Anyone have experience with this?

If it's a "he" and you want to change that ... well, you could take him to a vet and have him neutered; that would be close, hormonally speaking :)

You can dismiss the one that's the wrong gender, wait a while and summon one again in the same spot, or just accept the one you have and role(sic) with it!

So .... I managed to find a she companion, and thought I befriended it.

It started following me back to town, but disappeared just as I went through the gate. That is, once I went through the gate I never saw her again.

Is there something I might not have attended to?

You should have had her spayed before she went into heat and wandered off looking for a male companion.

Obvious/possibly not question here, but did you BEFRIEND it?

You have to feed/give positive attention to said animal until gazing at it shows you that it's content with you. (or you just just type BEFRIEND and see what happens). If BEFRIENDing worked, you would see this:

<companion> looks you steadily in the eye and finally nods as if in acceptance.

At this point, it should be yours, although it won't follow you indoors. Spend time with it, love it, and feed it until GAZEing at it speaks of undying loyalty.

Hope that helps!
