So at work, I am unable to connect to the game via StormFront because we have pretty much every non-essential port blocked. As it turns out however, I'm the exec that oversees the IT department, and so I can nudge them to open the port if they don't see a security issue. I just don't know which port that needs to be opened. If I can get that info, that'd be great.

Thanks,

This is not 'reported by' or 'approved by' Simutronics, but I believe the answer is StormFront uses port 10321, and Wizard uses port 4900.

From a security perspective, neither of these ports are 'registered' as known official or unofficial ports for industry-standard TCP / UDP traffic. The biggest complaint is likely to be that since it's not spec'd as used, the traffic will always be considered suspect and will also likely set off various alarms and such.

Might ask if the appropriate port can be opened specifically through to your assigned system IP, to limit damage.

You might also ask the security team if 'guest wireless' is available at your premise. It is fairly normal to set up much more open access on a 'guest' platform, but specifically isolate and prevent that access from seeing the corporate network. If it exists, no configuration required! But. . . you should probably bring your own device.
