I'm trying really hard to understand stat growth and I'm having a bit of an issue. I only have a bit of time left to reallocate stats, so my newbie stats need to go and my stats for maximizing growth need to be placed. I'm playing a Burghal Gnome Wizard...I've been able to find stat growth charts for Wizards, and one for Burghal Gnomes...do I just add those values together? Also, can anyone offer me any advice as to what my stats should look like at 100? Thanks much!

Optimizing for growth can take on a couple flavors - gaining maximum training points over a given interval or gaining maximum statistics (as close to 100 as possible) over the given interval.

At the bottom of this page, under external links, you'll find a couple of tools that can help you plan for each path. My best personal advice, however, is to work towards max training points, and more towards mid game (level 66 or so). The game will take months, if not years, to get to that point. Positioning for statistics max can lead to frustrating early levels.

I'll try to give a brief overview, though another useful link is: https://gswiki.play.net/mediawiki/index.php/New_Players%27_Guide#Stats

Firstly, add together the profession and racial values. Or simply use this compiled table: https://gswiki.play.net/mediawiki/index.php/List_of_statistic_growth_rates#Burghal_Gnome

The professional values will dominate where the racial part will make an important, but smaller difference.

Since the equations are on the page I won't get into that too much, but I'll note that a high growth value naturally means it increases more quickly. 30 is very high. 10 is quite low. I recommend to play with the Stat Cruncher and optimize for whatever level you want and see how inputting different values affects the results. I usually just put in all the stat points (so it has no room to "optimize" itself) and then move them around manually until I find a good build.

Since you're relatively new, I would recommend optimizing your stats for around level 40~50. This will give you some growth as you play, but will not weaken your build too much at the lower levels. Since you're a burghal wizard, you are largely forced to put a very high strength which I recommend you do, because it will not be moving almost at all. (My halfling sorcerer always had a value like 95 for STR, and the growth is similarly terrible.) Logic is good for gaining experience and your training points, but will grow fast so this is largely up to you. Dexterity is important for your spell aiming attacks, but it also grows quickly and burghals have a natural bonus, so you can probably set this comfortably around 70 I should think. For training points Aura is also important for wizards, and I generally like Discipline.

You can safely tank Constitution, Influence, and Wisdom a bit I think so you can put higher values in your prime stats for more training points. Agility will mainly give you added DS which isn't really bad. Influence also grows really fast and won't be doing much for you either, where CON has a poor growth so maybe don't set it too low.

Hope that helps a little.

Woops, this meant to say Intuition. The growth is 30 and while it affects some systems, it's not many you need to worry about immediately and with a growth that high you can really give it the tank I'd imagine.
