Is it possible for those spells that utilize the Summation chart for bonuses to have an increased benefit to the high end lore ranks?

For example:

Stone Skin - 520 (I still firmly stand behind the idea of swapping the benefits of Stone Skin with Elemental Barrier. The Elemental Barrier should flare, not stone skin)

% chance for vibration flare on successful strike using seed 9 summation

Bonus EL:E Ranks required % chance to trigger
1 9 1%
2 19 2%
3 30 3%
4 42 5%
5 55 7%
6 69 9%
7 84 12%
8 100 15%
9 117 18%
10 135 22%
11 154 27%
12 174 33%
13 195 40%
14 217 48%
15 240 57%

With this change, my wizard with 124 ranks in Earth Lore would go from the current 9% chance to 18% chance. This change, clearly it's not a game changer, but it feels more like he's actually becoming stronger or more skilled with controlling Earth based skills.

Something like this, while not earth shattering, does give merit to those that would power their way through a single lore. Realistically, who's probably going to work on acquiring enough enhancives to boost their Earth Lore (or any lore) for that matter above 202 ranks? For those that would, they should benefit for their efforts.

Most people are going to train heavy in one lore - generally 1-1.5x and the other .5-1x will be in one or more other lores for various reasons. Increased benefits to spells based on very high lore ranks should make it tempting for someone to stick with 1 lore, but at the same time make the choice difficult and they can choose mediocre to decent benefits for stretching their lore training across multiple lores. Also, nothing has to be "specially" designed for that "extra" flare on spells for those that hit 150+ ranks in a single lore.

Except, for Stone Skin - when a wizard hits 202 Earth Lore ranks, they can make a stone golem to do their bidding. The stone skin when self CAST/INVOKED covers your body and works like it normally does, when CHANNELED, you get a stone golem and with every step it takes, the vibration flares causes earth quakes and knocks everyone down!

Honestly?

I would rather start with the higher benefits at the earlier ranks: first, so that the casters can start seeing some payoff! But also because "diminishing returns" is how our current skill rank progression is set to happen.

I also think that 9%, no matter which step it happens at, is too big a benefit at one gulp.

Fifteen steps of benefit, do 5 at +3, 5 at +2, 5 at +1.

And having just written that... I disagree with myself. Screw diminishing returns. We're requiring larger and larger amounts of Lore ranks for the step of benefit, let's increase the amount of benefit. Just like Drumpel said.

BUT, since I still disagree with the whole "Seed<StupidlyLarge>" scenario, it's fine to have only +1% of benefit for only 1 or 2 ranks of Lore.

Five steps of +1% [15 ranks of Lore gets you 5% chance], five steps of +2% [PLUS 40 more ranks (55 total) gives you 15% chance], five steps of +3% [PLUS 65 more ranks (120 total) gives you 30% chance].

And 30% chance may be too much, so we may need to drop it down to 10 steps of +1 and 10 steps of +2, or fifteen at +1 and then +2 forever after.
