Hello,
Like many of you I have just converted, and am not experienced on the monk profession at this train. Below are my skills, I was just wondering what suggestions people had or what they were doing with their TP's. There anything I don't need? Or things I need more of? Any help is always appreciated. Have a good day.

I'd personally go for 1220 and 120 over having 40 ranks in MnM unless you're using warding spells from MnM regularly.
More critters use spirit spells then mental ones and monks aren't the best at warding in the first place, so 101, 107, and 120 would be nice to have. Also, the extra DS you'd get from 103 and 120 would more then make up for the 10 extra points you're currently getting from 1220 for over-training in MnM... and with 1202 using your level and ranks in Transformation rather then spell ranks, you wouldn't even be losing anything there.

<Lores especially what people are doing with them.>
I'm currently putting all my lore ranks into Transformation for 1202, 1209 and 1214 (when I get it), but then I only have MnM spells at this point (I'm not planning on getting the 100s until I've gotten at least to 1214). I'd imagine a capped Monk with 20 ranks in MnS might at least consider getting some Blessing or Summoning lore for the benefits they provide that circle, though a member of GoS or a monk that uses a lot of active CMANs would probably find Telepathy more attractive for 1213.

Well, if it were me I'd do some or all of the following:
TWC drop down to .5x to free up a buncha points (though I'd bring it back up to at least 1x once you 3x PF/Dodge/max Transform lore, 2x as a long term goal)
Ambush drop down to around 25ish ranks, though you're capped hunting so maybe you need more for aiming at the higher level stuff.
MOC drop it down a bit if you need the points for PF/Dodge/Transform Lore
PF bring up to 3x
Dodge bring up to 3x
ML-Telepathy, swap the points over to ML-Transform if needed to get it to 105
ML-Transform, run it up to match whatever enhancives you have to get 105 ranks so 1202 is the equivalent of MBP (AsG 17), right now its giving you AsG 15
I'd 1x perception too, but that's just me.
No climbing?
Spells, what the others said I'd split it 1220/120 (also might free up a bit of anti spell burst training points with self cast 100's)
CMan's, I'd swap the grapple mastery over to punch mastery, drop flurry of blows and/or mongoose and pick up a defensive spell related stance or two (inner harmony and/or slippery mind)
Its all personal though, I like the variety of builds possible with monks and their cman's. Also I've not done any capped hunting.

>I'd imagine a capped Monk with 20 ranks in MnS might at least consider getting some Blessing or Summoning lore for the benefits they provide that circle,
Even as a Sorcerer, I can't be troubled to pick up any ranks of Spiritual Lore for Minor Spiritual, but as a Monk? Definitely not. Blessings lore provides a bunch of meager bonuses, like extra chances of Spirit Strike or TD flares on 107, but they take TONS of lore for what is inevitably a small chance. Spirit Summoning is the more commonly trained lore for Minor Spirit, but most people pick it up for Fire Spirit, Locate Person, and Web, one of which is a Bolt (not really within the Monk training plan) and one of the other's biggest gain is BECOMING a bolt. Since Monks aren't likely to be bolting, I'd say the benefits for that circle are pretty weak for the cost to a square.

Well I changed over to his based on some suggestions. I got some more dodge and PT and alternating till 3x, increased 20 lores and learned spell 120. So far its working good, I have not noticed any difference with the drop of TWC. Ill keep all the other suggestions as long term goals. Thanks for the help, any other suggestions are welcome.

Re: Monk Training Help on 12/17/2012 03:22 PM CST
I dont understand the 50 trainings in MMC. Am I missing a spell or skill this is good for? 30 would be my absolute max. 101 Harness Power? what are you using all that mana for? I use 1207 during hunts and thats about it. Should I be using others? Why not at least 75 in transformation? You are missing an armor class from that. You could be in hauberk instead your in augmented chain. Arcane Symbols? Do you have an item or scrolls that you like to use a lot?
Why do you have all three stances again? Just trying them out? I think Krynch is the way to go for capped character. Though I have that only on my use of it with a 45 level monk and a monk at 21 trainings with Flurry. As I age the younger one I will move him to krynch I think.
While perception isnt really needed to get into capped areas anymore at least 20 ranks...25 get some just so you can actually see things like trails and such while traveling. Dying in the tree trunk in Vipershroud would not be a good thing.

50 ranks of a mana control is probably because of the recent spell-related additions. Here's some of the info from the official post (which you can find a copy of on krakiipedia):
"Mana Controls have been updated to provide new benefits for casters: Multi-cast, PULSE, and SPELLUP.
Multi-cast: It is now possible to multi-cast defensive spells to more quickly stack durations. It still takes the same amount of mana as if you had cast the spell separately, but it multiples the duration by the amount of multi-casts. Every 25 ranks of the appropriate Mana Control allows one multi-cast. The appropriate Mana Control is dictated by the spell being cast (Spirit Mana Control for the Minor Spiritual circle, etc). When hybrid casters multi-cast a spell, the spell circle will dictate the primary Mana Control and their secondary Mana Control is counted at half ranks. Hybrid spell circles will count the higher of the two Mana Controls as the primary (full ranks) and the secondary at half ranks. For example, when a Sorcerer multi-casts Spirit Warding I (101), it will use their Spirit Mana Control ranks plus half of their Elemental Mana Control ranks. And vice versa when casting Elemental Defense I (401). When casting Cloak of Shadows (712), it will use the higher of their two Mana Controls and count the other one at half ranks."
and
"Pulse*: MANA PULSE allows the caster to manually invoke a mana pulse as if they were off a node. Every Mana Control rank allows you to perform this action 1 second sooner than when the actual pulse would happen. In other words, if you have 50 Mana Control ranks, you can only use this ability when the natural mana pulse would trigger in the next 50 seconds. However, using this ability also causes the next natural mana pulse to skip you and you cannot use the ability again until then. Overall, casters will not gain additional mana with this ability, but they can control when they get it. It should be useful for getting a final pulse before starting a hunt or if you run out of mana while trying to finish off a creature."

1235 is pretty mana hungry. If you want to run it continuously you probably want those harness ranks.
Getting exp is pretty difficult with UAC group hunting. The critters tend to die before you have a chance to get significant damage on them. I tend to think that TWC mstrikes is the way to go, and forget UAC if you are hunting in a large group, but flurry with flares is a possible alternative. Hunting with a single partner works fine but I haven't made UAC work in a large group.

I just assumed that the heavy magic training was related to spell burst defense?
Also 1219 is a nice crowd control spell if you have the mana for it. It'll also pull hidden critters into its void and spit'em out into the open. Hmmm, wonder if any mental magic using mobs will use it against sniping characters? Anyway I imagine it would almost be a must hunting at cap in some areas.
