Converted my twc non-picking rogue to monk and am noticing some serious differences.
1) gets hit a lot more than a hiding rogue (of course) so I put him in 4x robes, still getting hurt but it helps
2)He can not hunt with just UAC unless he backs out of a lot of like level fights. Relying on brawling weapons (troll claw and knuckle blade from the wagon) a lot though I would like him to go straight UAC at some point. Also using 4x flaring hand and footwraps from FWI.
3)Since he's using a troll claw and a knuckle blade, the TWC is coming in handy. I think I can drop that down when he can more safely hunt UAC and am wondering about dropping it right now to stay 1x spells and to get cmans or pf. Going for lore after 1220.
4)Just trained at lvl 16 and has 38 PTP's left over but not enough to get the 16 spell
5)GOS master, having issues with stamina (50) and Mana (53)
6)Put cmans into perfect self because he's built for growth and I wanted to pump his stat/stat bonuses. Would like to have the max bonus from Perfect Self though the other cmans may make UAC more realistic. Not sure about Monk CMANs yet.
Since I'm just learning spells it's not coming naturally on the offensive side but am using Force Projection a bit more.
Without the flaring weapons he'd be hopeless against like level right now.
Open to any comments or ideas on his training, stats, whatever.

I am taking it slow on the spells and am not having any trouble hunting and only really get hit when I forget to pay attention and go defensive. And his stats are set for growth as well, I also hunt him self spelled. For gear he has 4x robes and 4x flaring boots/gloves. This is what his training looks like right now.

I think your biggest problem is light on the dodge right now and a bit later it will likely hurt that you aren't 2x in PF because you'll pick up redux later and won't have as much until it is caught up on. You can probably get by with just 1x in cman and be fine but I am liking the points that I have to play with. Another place you can likely shave points is by not training ambush like I have, but I want to be aiming reliably here soon. For MoC just look at the different thresholds and figure out where you want to be, you'd likely do fine at just 10 ranks to offset a second creature attacking you and avoid any larger groups for now. But you should have 30 days from when you converted to play around with your build and figure out what works for you, so I suggest you try as many things as possible.
And yes, I am strictly using UAC no brawling weapons.

Typing this on my kindle, so I'm going to be briefer then usual.
1: Get yourself some 4x gloves and boots as well (flaring if you can find them). For training, go up to 3x in Dodging and pick up at least .5x in mental lore for 1202. You might also want to 2x in PF. If you need to free up points, drop spells down to .5x or .75x... you're a square, not a semi.
2: Are both your hands empty when using UCS? Are you tiering up? If you are and follow what I suggested in #1 you should be fine just using UCS.
3: Keep the TWC training, with two empty hands it'll give you DS similar to what a main gauche would and help greatly. More CM would be nice, but more PF and Dodge are better. If you need more TPs, lose spells.
4: already addressed
5: More PF will get you more stamina... your mana's higher then my level 21 monk, unless your using attack spells, you should be good (1207 is the only attack spell worth casting as a monk imho.
6: krynch and punch mastery are well worth the investment.

Ok, I've had him out hunting today and it's going much better. Trying to implement your advice and other posts that I've read in UAC and MONK folder.
Hunted him with self spells, strength, t-ward and e-defIII. I also paid attention that Blink was re-cast after use. I hear that spell is a one time deal per cast, but i did notice that it was listed as in effect even after I'd "blink". Also invested in flaring 4x hand and foot wraps.
Today I focused on paying close attention to the messaging, attacking "favor"ed limbs, using the spell circle to manage multiple critters (basically just 1207 one while focusing on another), and running sigil offense and defense. It was a blast and my monk really ripped through Trolls. Night and day from what he experienced yesterday. Did have a tier up question. When he gets a good tier, but fails to connect on the next strike, does it re-set the tiers? Lets say you jab, tier up to punch, tier up to Kick and miss. Should you kick again or go back to a punch or jab?
I'm going to play with the build a bit more and see how it goes, but todays hunt means that I'll be ok on this training path until 1220 then can start mixing it up. Definitely need to add lore to pump up the asg on 1202. Still need to do some more expirements and see how it goes, especially with cmans, but today was really good news.
BTW, I can't find the formula for UDF. Is it published?

With a tier up chance it doesn't reset with a miss, just keep trying the same attack until you connect with it. There is a time limit on it but it is a couple or a few minutes which should be more then enough time.
