So I was watching the treasure system earlier and noticed it create and spit out an enhancive item with these qualities: armor (won't say what ASG right now, but very useful), 3x enchant, 21 swimming bonus, 7 DEX bonus, 7 Combat Maneuver bonus, and 2 perception bonus.

I'm always amazed at some of the things I see it create. And I imagine there's quite a bit more I don't see when I'm logged out.

Nice, but, if your in a town that lacks a bard at the time it would be more curious to see what that appraised for at the pawnshop, and if the pawns value made it appear negligible or if it reflected its worth keeping.

The pawnshop would definitely offer 35k for it. And anything in that aspect, in my opinion, is worth stockpiling until you can find a bard to loresing.

If it's a higher ASG then double leather, the swimming bonus is useless for swimming Maelstrom Bay since you'd have to remove it to make the swim. I dunno if other swimming checks have the same requirement, but it's one of those things where I'd go "oh yay!.... waitaminute..."

I've yet to have the pawnshop say anything other than 'not buying anything that valuable today' for any enhancives, no matter how useful or useless they were. Does that put me in the minority? I do wish the pawnshop would deepen it's pockets a bit. I hate merchanting...I've concidered more than once having someone sell off my goodies, or selling at a significantly below margin rate just to get something out of my locker.

It's generally the gem shop that doesn't buy anything that valuable today. Not saying you are wrong but possibly you are checking with the gemshop and not the pawnshop?

Inside a woven copper strand basket with a partially melted handle, you see an indigo shade-newt, a scattering of deathstone granules, a miniature house-shaped topiary, and a carved miniature twisted tree with a jagged burn mark down the trunk.

As a matter of fact, you are correct. For some reason it tends to be jewelery that I find that is enhancive, but after dragging a few things out of my locker, it appears I can finally clear out some junk afterall. While enhancives are a wonderful thing, not everything that the Treasure System generates has the value to players that the GEMshop would suggest.

Thanks!

A nice fix to this would be say a travelling gem dealer or pawnbroker that would pay say 70% of true value, with a backroom offering the items for sale to others. Move the wagon from town to town periodically, and if an ambitious GM wanted to do it,that same merchant held an auction for said collected items every now and then in different towns.
