Since there's interest in filling out the cleric spells, may I suggest a relook at the balance of 302 for off alignment.

Right now, going off alignment means double mana, 1/2 damage on 1st cycle, weaker flare on 2nd cycle, AND no infusion possibility.

That's an awful awful lot of negatives for choosing what is generally otherwise a non-mechanic, flavor choice.

I'm fine with a penalty but double mana should be more than enough, a 50% reduction in efficiency is already a pretty big impact. Adding all these other damage penalties just heavily penalize what imo should be a predominately a RP choice. Practically, I had to pick bane due to the large tradeoffs and I didn't get to pick my preferred arkati worship.

For what ti's worth I feel the same way. Every time I find myself wanting to roll a cleric I hesitate, because I feel like I have to balance my RP choice against a mechanical one. Shouldn't be that way in a game that focuses on RP.

It would be a giant PITA for them I'm sure, but I think it would make more sense to realign it with deity damage types (slash, fire, etc.) like most of the other spells are.

Perhaps the flare / secondary effect could be spirit related. Clerics are spiritual masters and can spend spirit points but not easily regen them during a hunt. Ensorcell doesn't fit with a lot of clerical RP. Just a thought.
