In light of all the questions about the enhancive values on the jewels from the grab piles in Jeweled Caverns, I wanted to give you a table of information that you can use to see the minimum/maximum possible values for any of the stats/skills pulled from those piles. There is still an element of randomness in that you could get any number between the min/max, but it won't go above (or below) that value.

Let me know if you have additional questions and I'll do my best to answer them!

I'm assuming all the combat/magic are to ranks and not bonus?

Everything is RANK despite my using the word "bonus" in any post (which just refers to the "plus" or "enhancement" value).

Is there a safeguard to prevent people from using a fixskills pot to only train in the skill(s) they desire a jewel to have as a boost? IE un-train and have the TP points waiting until after the jewels are bought except for the desired results?

Just an elf about town...

Nope.

If someone wants to do that just to get a specific jewel, go right ahead. Still costs them the same for the jewel in the pile. :P

I'm travelling and will miss all of BMC, but still, I really appreciate that you shared this info with us. It's so much nicer to make informed decisions about this kind of thing!

First I'd like to say that I love this whole idea. Customizable enhancive jewelry is a nice addition to player gear! Only being able to wear 1, limiting the enhancives to ranks, limiting the amount of slots, most of the restrictions seem reasonable.

I think the jewels and method of distribution could be improved.

From a consumer standpoint I'd like to have seen the ATTUNED minimums at least at 2... these are 300k each and random!

The concept of a UTILITY pile separate from MAGIC & COMBAT with different pricing seems completely reasonable. I was slightly disappointed to get +1 STAT enhancives from the 300k MAGIC & COMBAT pile that were not very important to my character. Not sure what the solution here would be... maybe a separate STAT pile?

Overall I don't think attuning was really necessary primarily considering the cost versus the risk. The resale value of the jewels at the gemshop soothed the sting a tiny bit. The fusion system is nice because you have the opportunity to collect and trade your random finds.

This new system, while offering really nice customizable enhancive options for players, feels a bit overly restricted considering the risk versus reward as it is now.

All in all I'm mostly satisfied with my particular results!

Yeah a +4/+4/+4 super ring is one heck of an item. The Dachres also, but a shame I had to work on the main merchant day. It introduces what looks like Fusion 2.0 for sure.

Here is a list of what I pulled from the 300k and 50k jewels. This is a wizard with 2x spell aim, 2x perception, 1x PF, 1x ranged, 5 ranks of CM, and 14 ranks of Armor Use.

300K JEWELS
a solid purple jewel +4 DIS
a solid purple jewel +3 DIS
a solid purple jewel +2 DIS
a solid black jewel +5 INF
a solid black jewel +4 INF
a solid pink jewel +3 INT
a solid red jewel +2 CON
a solid brown jewel +2 WIS

a faceted diamond jewel +2 Armor Use
a faceted diamond jewel +2 Armor Use
a faceted diamond jewel +1 Armor Use
a striated green jewel +2 Ranged
a striated green jewel +2 Ranged
a striated green jewel +2 Ranged
a faceted quartz jewel +5 PF
a faceted quartz jewel +4 PF
a carved pearl jewel +4 Spell Aim
a carved pearl jewel +3 Spell Aim
a faceted emerald jewel +2 CM
a square diamond jewel +1 EL:A
a carved coral jewel +3 HP

50K JEWELS
a solid yellow jewel +2 DEX
a solid yellow jewel +1 DEX
a square diamond jewel +1 EL:A
a marbled silver jewel +3 Pick Pocket
a square ruby jewel +1 ML:M
a teardrop onyx jewel +1 MMC
a faceted peridot jewel +1 MOC

Of all the STAT jewels pulled there was not one for a wizard's primary stats of AUR or LOG. The best stat jewel I pulled for this character was +2 DEX from the generic 50k group.

Of the SKILL jewels pulled I was happy with the +4 Spell Aim, +2 Ranged, and +3 Harness Power. Having only 14 ranks in Armor I thought it was odd to see so many Armor jewels. All the skill jewels pulled were all for skills this character trains or has trained in.

As you can see I pulled many duplicates. This is somewhat surprising considering all the stats and skills to choose from. Out of the 21 attempts at the MAGIC & COMBAT pile there were 9 duplicates.

Anyway, just some stats to ponder over.

Wait, so you spent 6.5m to get a T3 finger worn enhancive with the following stats "+4 Spell Aim, +2 Ranged, and +3 Harness Power"

Plus you won the T3 finger worn, and didn't sell it, so the opportunity cost of not selling it is like 7m.

So in summary you effectively spent 13.5m on a finger worn enhancive that gives "+4 Spell Aim, +2 Ranged, and +3 Harness Power".

Dang...

I wanted to explore the system. Thankfully I am fortunate enough to have the silver to do that. Even then it is a pretty small sample. I'm not THAT rich!

To be fair I pulled a really nice jewel in the first 5 pulls. With OTS jewelry that would only be 2m.

I will say I am slightly disappointed with the amount of duplicate jewels in such a small sample and the selection of stat jewels from the MAGIC & COMBAT pile.

In my previous post I commented about pulling +1 stat jewels from the MAGIC & COMBAT pile. This was inaccurate. All the stat jewels I pulled were at least +2. I only pull one +1 stat jewel out of 21 attempts and that was from the 50k pile.

And that's why I didn't bother spending any more silver on the jewels at all. The cost/benefit was just not there. I pulled thoroughly worthless stats for a rogue and no skills of note. In fact I didn't even buy a holder for them.

I feel badly, since the intent is wonderful. The execution and costs were just too high for such little benefit, especially since they attuned.

Hopefully the system comes back with higher-end stats or cheaper jewels!

Best,
Jim

I made 11 pulls from the attuned pile, and I didn't get any "stat" jewels (in this case stat means STR, AGI, DEX, etc., correct?)

So I was wondering how one gets attuned stat jewels.

The band that I have does not play well with the Griffin Pin script. Specifically when using TOUCH on my Griffin scripted item the band shows up as not charged when in fact it is.

Also, my three slot band with +4 Spell Aim ranks, +2 Ranged ranks, and +3 Harness Power ranks, costs over 55k bounty points to recharge. Is this correct? The recharge cost seems a tiny bit steep.
