Where will I get my Dahcres from? I can't steal them from the tower during pennant chase and Modrian refuses to unlock my Dahcre box!
BMC was the first event that I bought a ticket to after returning to the game from a long time. I really enjoyed the mini quest for the armor shop (I was one of the first few to complete it with Wilbip!) and would love to return to it again as Ordim.

Oh, I thought Briarmoon Cove was lots of fun! I'm so sad to see it go.
Add some more _ to it, give it some more __, and lower the price. Surely you have to give something more than 1 try?! Maybe it was timing?

seemed like a pretty high event especially at epic deepening and such? Thank you for responding as always wryrom even
if we don't agree with you or like your stance. :)
It was what 39? lower it to 29 and keep it close to the same. Personally I don't care as long as we get a neat
even this year besides just duskruin. :)

<It was what 39?>
3,250 simucoins. Pretty cheap considering all the newness and fun stuff and length of time (weekend), compared to similar priced DR Digging or DM passes for limited pay per "pulls".
It had all this too!
https://gswiki.play.net/Briarmoon_Cove
And people could easily attend for minimal silvers by finding a middle man. A shame it was not attended as much as was hoped but that was also part of the charm for me. A smallish group at a festival with some brand new things, layout, and quest.
It must return! It is on the HSN world map now :D
Higher, lower/free whatever so long as it does. I prefer higher (for more powered services/cozier feel) and to try again with the simustore. It would be ironic if it would have done better through the traditional Box Office.

If it hasn't been pieced together yet, we have a pretty routine schedule now for events. So you can determine how many we'll see each year and about when they occur. We have something planned (not BMC) for February.
As I said about BMC earlier, if it happens again, the event would need to be revamped or it would become a free event for RP. We don't plan to leave BMC as an area to never be seen again.

I considered it a success! Who gives a damn if it wasn't that that well attended according to your numbers? I got a major raffle win I got stuff epically deepened. I got an alter and I do believe that one of my farain tattoos was done at the event. I believe that everyone who bought a ticket. Went away happy. That wasn't the case when I went to Ebon Gate. Isn't that what it's about at the end of the day?
Did you ever stop to think that you were charging as much as a Prime subscription for the event? Probably why more people didn't show up. it's the reason I don't buy box office events normally. Just saying.

> While the event has appeal, which we're not denying, it was our least successful event in terms of participation.
BMC looked cool, but the teasers and general description did not seem to justify the cost for me by a longshot. It looked way overpriced. The only things being offered that I wanted were raffle wins, and I don't spend real cash chasing raffles.
From what I saw, I don't regret the decision. Heck, a friend offered me a free ticket and after seeing the shop list, I declined; I felt bad asking them to spend that kind of money.
EG costs a little more but you can easily leave with a cross-realm teleporter and a useful self-charging item. It also had a lot more time for merchant events and for playing games to chase prizes.
If I spent an equivalent amount at Duskruin, I'd be able to pick up items worth a few million to take away with me, plus whatever spoils the sewers/arena would give.
BMC offered... a gold ring holder with special messaging. With a small chance to hold 2 gold rings.
Gold ring holders proceeded to sell for 50k at Ebon Gate.
For $30+, you've got to guarantee people are going to walk away with something way nicer than that.

Wyrom,
For the past few years, the amount of creativity and effort put into the game by staff and players is amazing in scope. I don't think I've said thank you in public as often as I probably should, so .. thank you. I'm not really a complainer about the things that I don't like, because I choose to focus on the things I DO like, rather than dwell on the things that I don't think work for me.
However, I really would like to put in my two cents regarding what I think you're saying in this thread.
Events like Briarmoon Cove did not meet the financial expectations, therefore it will not run in its current form (if at all), because events that drum up the highest amount of cash will. I completely understand that mindset because this game is a business that needs to make a profit to survive, but I can't help but think you're (and not YOU personally, but the vague powers that be) are forgetting many people for every 1 person who can't seem to stop digging/searching to put together the "next big thing" offered by the Simucoin store. It really IS the Simucoin store, and not the game, in my humble opinion, and while that "you must find that last piece" mindset good for business, it's not really good for the game. I can't speak for everyone, nor am I even suggesting anyone else feels the way I do, but I'd like to simply say I've had enough.
Yet another event comprised of searching through sewers or dollhouses is not going to get my money. I'm tired of it. It's boring, repetitive and starting to get to the point where it's rubbing me the wrong way having it be such an obvious cash grab, even while I'm fully aware that the point of any business is to make money.
My point is, if there were PAY events that were not as popular (read financially profitable), such as Briarmoon Cove, I'd be offered a choice regarding where I'd sink my extra cash with the point of having fun. I'm not having fun with the current options anymore, so my extra cash will be staying in my pocket. I think what I'm trying to say here is -- please don't take away other options like Briarmoon Cove, the Expression Faire, etc because they're not as profitable.
Thanks for listening, and Happy New Year!
Christine

Mesapaen, I agree with you wholeheartedly.
BMC was a truly enjoyable experience, and I do hope the team decides to continue alternating creative events with dig events/simucoin events. Events like BMC may not be as profitable, but they greatly contribute to my long-term enjoyment and engagement of the game. The forest quest may even be my all-time favorite mini-game. It felt like I was playing a classic adventure game, and made me feel excited and nostalgic. It's the richness of our RP environment that keeps me subscribing month after month.
As much as I don't like the digging/searching events, I realize they may be necessary in order to keep our game alive and thriving. Please continue to consider the balance between short-term financial gains and the long-term integrity of the gaming environment. I really do consider this the golden age of the game, and I have never enjoyed it more than I do today. Thank you!

Unfortunately I missed this last year. It sounded pretty neat though. In addition to other things said, it felt really close to EG for me last year. Could it perhaps be more effective if it was later in the winter, like mid-March? If they are so close for a big event (less than 3 months), the bigger, longest, historically very good event like EG will win out.
It could be good to reevaluate time and cost for this, as otherwise I know I have only heard good things as opposed to the things like Duskruin that seem to also garner a lot of negative opinions. Boosting positive opinions seems like it is also worth plenty, when balanced appropriately.

Loved the forest quest. I didn't have much time at BMC but I enjoyed the time I spent there and was well worth the ticket cost.

I too am a fan of events like BMC, Expression Faire etc. Personally, EG always lands on a really busy time for me work-and-life wise, particularly these last several years. Like to a point where the last EG ticket I bought was 2014, and I may have only been able to log in once.
So these other smaller RP/more general work events popping up throughout the year are pretty rad and I (so long as I'm available for the event's timeframe) always buy a ticket- they make up for not being able to hit EG. That's just from personal experience though, because if I were able to make it to EG, I'd still go to these; they just have more appeal to me.

I'm not sure I can put my finger on what about BMC struck a cord with me. I think it may have been the focus on very rare and RP centric items. The script moving and snow satchels were amazingly desirable and yet mechanically unimportant items. I'm not sure if the same effects could be recaptured again, but it was sure a hoot the first time around.

And the stream that falls from the hill to plain.
Better than rain or rippling brook,

Participation means a couple of things in this sense. While I can't go into the business logistics, getting an event like BMC up and running is a lot more work than probably realized. Between grounds building, shop building, story and lore development, script creation, approvals, QC, and live GM commitment, it becomes a lot of moving parts to make an event like BMC. We then have to weigh the effort against the end results.
We understand that it's desired, and you'll likely see BMC return in some form.

That's all part and parcel on why I pay one of the highest subscription fees in the industry, on top of being willing to pay an additional fee for events. If I want a gacha ball event, I'll put my money towards a company with more transparent odds and rewards. Grounds building, story, lore development, live GM commitments, and character customization are what really sets this genre, and this particular game, above its competition.
Wyrom's response is disheartening and bothersome.

Your subscription gets you the base game. Subscription status is not tied to pay events outside Premium discounts/bulk SimuCoins and early access for limited ticket sales. We occasionally have Premium-only areas at larger events like Ebon Gate.
We definitely do these things in the base game on a monthly basis though, where those subscriptions matter. However, if you don't feel you get the value of your Premium subscription playing the base game, you're certainly not going to feel like you are at an additional pay event like BMC.
