I usually only use storebought so don't know much about forged weapons, but can longswords be forged? And if so, where could I find some information on them. Costs, stats, weight, etc. Thanks!

Longswords can be forged though they arn't that great and once ya they get to heavy slice and they are very unbalanced and and weigh quite a bit. They have more impact then most other blades but they don't stand up well to broadsword and bastard swords.

Best longsword I've seen is the one sold in Vishlan's Wagon.

A leaf-blade longsword with a black sharkskin grip is a heavy edged melee-ranged weapon.

You are certain that it could do:
low puncture damage
heavy slice damage
fair impact damage

You are certain that the longsword is fairly balanced and is reasonably suited to gaining extra attack power from your strength.

You are certain that the leaf-blade longsword is fairly sturdy, and is in pristine condition.

The leaf-blade longsword is made with metal.
You wonder if the leaf-blade longsword might weigh a few tens of stones.
You are certain that the leaf-blade longsword is worth exactly 25000 kronars.

Naissura squints at the balance beam needle and says, "The longsword weighs about thirty-three stones," and puts the longsword on the counter.

Those are from the Barbarian only wagon, yes? Can only barbarians use them? If not, could someone pick me up one? I'll pay for their time.

I really only use longswords but have trouble finding nice ones. Thanks for the replies.

No reason to use a longsword except for roleplaying reasons. A great slice bastie or even a forged broadsword have it all over longswords.

I've given up the bastie and broad in favor of longsword, one for RP, one cause its less common and I just like the impact better. Here's what I use.

Naissura squints at the balance beam needle and says, "The longsword weighs about thirty-one stones," and puts the longsword on the counter.

You pay Naissura and take your longsword off the counter.

Impressed into the metal is the image of a rampaging peccary before an erupting volcano. Surrounding the design in diminutive lettering are the words, "Elothean Pigsmasher".

So Vib can forge em at 31 stones, 15 plat. I'd be happy to compare with the barb wagon longsword if someone is around xing, may be better on the compare. IM sunkunda
