So, I recently dropped my scimitar somewhere and I have no idea where it is. I don't really care all that much, as it was pretty heavy for me. I don't have a lot of money to work with. I was looking for something light, with moderate slice, that won't break everytime I swing at something with a little armor on. I was considering making the trek to Hara to get the cutlass out there, but am not sure if that is work the 7 fewer stones than a regular crossing scimitar. Anyone have any ideas?

The scim from Marachek's oak is of sturdier construction than that from Crossing, and it hits harder from what I've seen. But it's probably a bit heavier too. I'll have to get one and check it at Mama's.

Alternately, you could consider the parang from Muspar'i. That's one weapon with a BITE. I got one for one of my little chars, and I love it! Again, I don't really know the weight. But it shouldn't be too heavy: The character in question is only a circle 5, and while she doesn't get the minimum RT on it she does get a pretty low one.

If you have the coin to spare, you could look at getting a forged scim: Most of those are lighter and stronger than their Crossing counterparts.

Good luck!

According to Hanryu's thing on Kynevon's site says the parang is 28 stones, which is something I could live with. I was looking for something a little cheaper, but I guess all that means is more dusk ogre corpses until I have the money.

If only I could enchant already...

Well, boo!

I can sympathsize.

Now, you could just buy a Crossing weapon and save up for one of the nicer ones. The Crossing cutlass is a bit lighter- and less expensive- than the Crossing scim.

I appreciate your suggestions. It's good to know that what I'm looking to buy may be better than what I was used to using. I'll just use this time without an ME to train my LE using the jambiya I picked up and maybe get my targeted magic somewhere in the vicinity of my other magic skills. This might be a very good thing...
