what determines the 34? is that the same for everyone? or is it bigger smaller depending on variables?

Its the same for everyone. Its just a guide pointing to how much of the pool you filled and correlates to the RP style messages. Its just that everyone has 34 messages to deal with instead of 11 so it helps while learning the new ones.

The second number, 34, is the maximum learning rate, Mind Locked. The first is your current learning rate, in this case 0 or clear.

Everyone has an experience "pool" that earned experience collects in, and this pool is divided into 34 chunks for everyone.

However, the size of the collection pool depends on your Intelligence and the number of ranks in the skill(?), so the size of 1/34th for my pool will be different than 1/34th of your pool.

How does that sound, Misinformation-Correctors?

It will always be 34 but as Brahb said 1/34 with someone that has 20 intelligence would be different than 1/34 with someone that has 60 intelligence.

Ug double post sorry. Pulses are static now, there's no more log functions for experience gains. You'll get the same drain rate at 34/34 as 2/34*

* I say 2/34 because at 1/34 you might not have enough bits in your pool to cover a full pulse.

It's no longer rate. Under the new system you learn equally fast at all levels.

What would you suggest we call it then? Level still implies different rates. Learning Rate is just as good as term as any and is still indicative of what is happening since the higher your number the more you're going to drain through logout or waiting.

...and if the skillset is primary, secondary, or tertiary. Basically, all the same factors as before, just the numbers were tweaked.

It's also odd and even too isn't it? As in odd ranks absorb slower then even ranks instead of the previous 8/4/2 wall ranks cycle with fresh ranks being super super fast and slow ranks being super super slow?

That is correct. Odd ranks drain at a lower rate

Correct, except it has nothing to do with pool sizes and the difference isn't nearly that dramatic.
