Given the necromancer's affinity for the undead, would there be any ability for a necromancer to hurt creatures normally requiring a blessed weapon?

Not beyond convincing a Cleric to bless their weapon for them.

Necromancers don't deal with the spirit, which are the only type of undead that require a blessed weapon.

It's been stated multiple times that necromancers have an affinity for zombies, and incorporeal (spiritual undead) are outside their realm of understanding.

Nor will they be any better at taking apart corporeal dead any more than a Cleric knows how to create a ghost because he can fight one.

I agree with the notion that a necro does not deal with the spirit. However, it seems that arcane magic is somehow inherently unstable with holy magic. It seems justifiable that an arcanely 'charged' weapon would be unstable in the presence of holy magic or perhaps even a spirit.

To drive the point home, here some info from elanthipedia on magic theory.

<<Sorceries and necromancies are spell patterns that rely on the laws and inherent metaphysical properties of two different types of mana working in tandem to function. Sorcery is the mixing of any two non-Life types, while Necromancy utilizes Life in the pattern. Natural laws prevent Holy and Life from being mixed together easily, causing violent backlashes when it is attempted. Different sorceries utilize these energies in different ratios to produce their effects.

<<Attempting to mix Life and Holy results in a unique effect typically referred to as a necromantic backlash, and can also happen when attempting to use Life mana in a spell pattern meant for Holy mana and vice versa.

It would seem to be, that as a necromancer ventures into the perverse territory and his/her mana becomes dominated by the arcane mana type, the life portion of this would be unstable with holy. So, if a perverse necromancer somehow charged arcane magic into this weapon, it would create backlash everytime it came in contact with a spirit. Instead of fighting fire with fire as with a cleric, this would be fighting fire with water. Perhaps its a stretch of logic, but it seems to be reasonable.

I think you might need to re-read the article.

And I would point out that the sorcery/necromancy section there is probably outdated, as Armifer is in the middle of retconning precisely what sorcery is in lore-terms.

While I agree with your post this point will hopefully be invalid "soon". Greujva has mentioned wanting to dive into Cleric summoning and I'm assuming it will most likely deal with spirits.
