First off what exactly is a Paladin?
A Champion of their God, a Holy Warrior.
As Champions of their God, they are to Protect and Defend the Faith.
Not Murder or Steal from the Enemies but to draw them out and crush them in open combat.
Paladins are made for Conflict, not Subterfuge. We do not initiate battle but we are to use the powers given to us by the Gods to end it.
We are to be Shining Beacons to those of our Faith to the Power of Our God, not to Preach or gain more Followers. That is the job of the Clerics. We do not Murder or Steal in the name of our God, that is for other Servants.
As to being Leaders. We are Leaders in War and Battle, not Slaughter and Murder. When the Faith is Attacked, We will Defend it, Leading Warriors into Battle.
As to our God being Dark or Light. That does not matter. What matters is our personal piety, and adherance to the guidelines of Paladinhood. Honor and Loyalty.
Shandarilli,
Paladin of Urrem'tier
We all will one day have an audience before Urrem'tier.

Shandarilli,
<your post>
That is probably one of the BETTER para-phrasings of what the members of the Paladin Council were trying to explain at the last council meeting about there being no "dark paladins".
A Paladin following Damaris or Urrem'tier following the precepts you stated would be an exact example of what the council was trying to say.
Thank you.

<<<Good one Humm but how do you know Tenemlor isn't an Aspect of Urrem'tier that is only shown to your people?
::Laughs:: Good one, Shandarilli, but how do you know that Eu, Tenemlor, and Demrris aren't the only three real Gods that have given the furless names for the 13 most prominent aspects of of each one's personality?

True, Humm, after all us mere mortals don't know for sure what games the gods play. As far as we know, they could just be spectators to a big gaming board, placing bets. <grins>
Shandarilli,
Paladin of Urrem'tier
Everyone will bow/stand/sit or whatever ye want to do at the time, but all shall have an audience with Urrem'tier in time.
