you didn't mention it, but I tested Trader accuse in TEST. And yes, it works. <took a few grabs to actually get myself caught, although trader got the message about something lifted from his pockets>


TRADER:

[Traders' Guild, Shipment Center]
A sense of chaos mingled with urgency pervades the scene before you. Harried stock clerks rush about, gathering orders and directing sweating laborers in assembling the contents of endless caravans. The cavernous room echoes with grunts and banging and voices all shouting conflicting commands, each trying to drown the other out to be heard first. Impatient traders try to catch the fleeting attention of the clerks and give vent to a varied array of oaths in many tongues when ignored. You also see a shipment clerk and a sturdy cart with several things on it.
Obvious exits: north, east, south, out.

The clerk takes you to one side, questioning you carefully about the incident. After several moments he says, "Well, I don't like the sound of this one bit. Apparently Schvartzgonif feels that she can simply harass Traders going about guild business, and on the established routes between guild outposts at that. I think she needs to be taught the error of her ways. You can leave it in my hands, sir. I cannot spare men to search very long for Schvartzgonif, but I can spare them for an andu or so. If they find her, they will teach her some better manners."




THIEF:


You notice a rather large group of men approaching you. As they draw near one of them shouts, "There she is! Get her!" You turn to flee, but they are on you before you can get very far.

Within moments they have you beaten to the ground. Dazed, you watch helplessly as they hold your arms out flat while the largest of the group stomps on your hands with his hobnailed boots.

Before they leave, one of them leans down and says, "You'd best leave the traders alone out near the Crossing if you know what's good for ya. Oh, and you don't mind if we help ourselves to some of your ill-gotten gains do you? I didn't think so."

You are stunned!

Just for the record, it might be better not to test things GMs don't say are ready/needing testing in test gonif.

There's no telling what version of the thing is over there, and it's more likely to lead to misunderstandings and flat out wrong/wierd stuff than be helpful. Since DRs systems are so interlaced, a GM could be working on a project in Test that effects some of the other systems, which will effect your testing, and give non-usable results.

Play testing stuff in Plat or prime is different because it's all 'release' systems.

For what it's worth, I may not have listed everything that I updated. As to the theft stuff in particular, it wasn't something I came across while looking directly at caravan code, but it's good to know that my tweaks didn't break it. It may be that the accuse code looks at some bit of information stored on caravans, so looking at your various abilities and mechs beyond what I directly listed isn't necessarily a bad or unneeded thing.

Now...if you cast a spell on a goblin to see if your caravan explodes or magically duplicates those diamonds you just bought...that might be a bit too unrelated. ;)

yeah, reason i tested it is because according to what we were told about the code on release, a trader has to have a caravan out in order to be able to accuse to the clerk or minister. otherwise they can't. So I was making sure nothing got broke there.
