With the cheap cost of both TWC and Edged wouldn't monks suit hamstring perfectly? I'm saddened that my short monk has no stamina knockdown available without a penalty. Hamstring would be a perfect fit!

You are not going to get a UAC knockdown on an opening shot without a lot of luck, or attacking from hiding, or with the benefit of krynch. Its only the top crit rank at decent that provides knockdowns. Once you have a tier, punch leg beats both jab and grapple, unless you are trying to keep the critter alive.
The most effective opening knockdown is 1207.
Monks selection of active CMans is poor and could do with some additions, though I'd prefer a couple of new monk manoevers to existing warrior ones.

>The problem with 1207 is that I'm so tight on MTPs that I can only afford 19 ranks of HP at level 58. 1207 works well but for a class with such cheap edged/twc hamstring is such a good fit and is a solid active cman.
Enough harness to use 1207 on every critter is core training. You should have enough harness for that at level 30. 19 ranks was enough for me to do it, but if you are using mana for something else as well, you'll need more. Also there are a lot of critters that are resistant to it and you'll need more if you are casting it multiple times in order to take them down. (and less if you are hunting one of the many critters that are immune to it)
Its because there are so many critters that have resistance or immunity to 1207 that I think monks should have alternatives.

We are squares, after all. I'm not sure why we ended up with cheap shots instead of hamstring. I really don't see most monks training in ambush unless they're using larger weapons. Even then I'm not sure it would be enough to make cheap shots worth it. The best cheap shot ability (knee bash) requires a weapon so you need to have a UAC weapon or blackjack if you a brawler.
