One bold fella breaks from the chain and climbs up on Brinret's chest, grabbing a hold of the tufts of hair on both sides of his head and holding him still! A fat, wet kiss is placed before the monkey disappears

There's some kind of issue with either the way 614 creates the item or the way 420 works on them, but I've had this experience in the past, too. I'm not sure it's a bug, per se; I think the IMBED verb is just finicky.

What I usually do, and this seems to fix it, is close all containers that have the noun "rod/wand/whatever you're imbedding" so 420 doesn't try to imbed your spell into the wrong wand/rod/whatever. Also make sure you're using the correct syntax for IMBED (e.g. you can't use "my rod"; you have to just use "rod"). Finally, make sure you're working on a fresh rod/wand as any ones you've attempted to work on before may exacerbate the problem.
