Is it just me, or does REIM TRANSPORT cost way too much? It's 500 energy, which you need about 90 minutes to make back in Reim. So essentially one use of transport requires most of the energy you can expect to make in a full trip+farm. Even worse, if you step out of Reim once you've transported, you can't return within the same 2-hour window without burning another transport. Forget a crucial herb? Need to step out for 5 minutes to complete a big purchase/sale? Get RNG'd by the empress and speed-departed/spelled-up hoping to make it back in time for the treasure scrip? Too bad. Also, another consequence is that it makes living in areas outside of the WL/SH/IMT axis even less attractive, which is the last thing the game needs right now. I can't really see a downside to lowering the cost drastically and allowing for multiple re-transports within the window. (Now I'm not all that experienced with Reim yet so maybe I'm missing some technique that makes this far less painful... if so, educate me.)

Really? That's good then. I thought otherwise because when I tried to transport back in last night from River's Rest (after about ten minutes outside herbing up), the game gave me a warning it would cost (another) 500 energy and asked me to confirm. Based on the warning, I decided not to confirm and stayed out.

Yep, just returned back in. recouped energy in under an hour and finish around that.

I've got to be honest here, too - it is one of the things that has kept me from Reim. :(
Not everyone lives west of the Dragonspine anymore.

Since you mention transport:
Is there a way to leave that does not involve death, or using Reim points? (Which I don't have yet, because I keep getting killed.) I tried climbing back down chains, and that didn't seem to want to work...
(Some times I just want to go, spend 15 minutes wasting some undead, and leave. I might not have 2 hours to commit.)
Maybe I just need to spend more time on figuring the area out, but I have only visited twice in 9 months so whatever I learned previously I had probably forgotten when I got back.

Ditto! It's a useless Premium benefit for me because it's on the other side of the world from where I play-- In order to start doing Reim I have to upend my character(s) and move half way across the world, or spend a bucket of silvers. Maybe if the Fortress version was (for some explainable reason) accessible only from Ta'Vaalor instead of Reim I'd start going.

Re: Cost of transport too high? on 09/24/2017 03:56 PM CDT
What? No. Doing Reim one singular time, gets you enough energy to do transport back to there four times. If you just transport there once, and do reim until you replace the 500 energy, you will always have the energy to go back the next time. It's a self-sustaining thing. None of the other Reim boosts are worth wasting the energy on anyway. So just always use the energy to get there, kill at least enough stuff to replace the 500 (which is trivial) and voila. I don't understand this perceived problem.

This has not been my experience at all. I have been to Reim 4 or 5 times.

So that gets me there and uses up all but 177 quest energy thingies? One way.
It's just really a precarious feeling when you do not live west of the Dragonspine, and I don't particularly like how the odds on that outcome look. Otherwise, I would love to participate, but as you can see, I have only been able to do so when I spent some time out west.

>>I think my experience is tainted by always doing Reim in large groups. I guess if you are trying to solo it, you won't get that much energy.
Admittedly, it's been a while since I went to Reim but I tend to do it solo and have never really had an issue. I always leave each visit with max Quest Energy and Scrip.

It's both ways. And the more you do it, the higher your max energy gets so you can save up. I've never had an issue unless I spend my energy elsewhere, like mana boosts when I run the fortress defense.

Finish too fast? Spend too much time recuperating in vortex rooms? It wouldn't surprise me if it you needed to spend most of your 2 hours generating spawns and killing them to get transport energy solo. It takes me over an hour to recuperate transport energy with a partner and we'll get energy about twice as fast as solo.

When I went, I had only a weapon, and fought every single moment. My training has changed since then, and while I do have an area magic attack now, I would never use it where it is busy, because someone could get hurt.
:(
I have been so frustrated about Reim all this time. Until we can get there from FWI or something, and I keep hoping that would happen, I just do not know what to do.

If you can join a Hand of Arkati group, do that. (You can convert scrip to energy to get there if you failed to refill enough to transport after a solo run, or due to a series of unfortunate accidents, but you'll refill energy in nothing flat in a big group).
I suspect you are underestimating your energy gain too, due to only recently improving your cap to 1000, and actually would have been pulling in 5-600 average per visit if you weren't at the cap for most of your time in there so far.

Tavern quests cost energy. Its an extra 100 to transport to them. If you are tight on energy and transporting, you need to avoid doing them.
